What Surgery is Available for Insertional Achilles Pain?

Wow thank you so much for explaining the options! Not even my doctor is really explaining in detail, I am going to therapy wasting time my pain is unbearable for a year now! I’ve gained weight and can’t walk ! Seal and tired of my situation. Hopefully it will be better soon!

Hey! I’m having an zadek osteotomy on my right foot in a few weeks. I’ve also had the other procedure on my left foot after rupturing my Achilles 5 years ago.

@@mohitomish great honestly! My surgeon did a fantastic job. Healing went well. Back on my feet after 6 1/2 weeks. No pain as of now from the area in the achilles. Subtle pain from the foot overall due to the surgery - 3/10. Walking is getting better with time. Can't run yet but I feel comfortable with it.

​@@brunitoz Great to hear!! My surgeon also recommended the same but I just can't imagine having two screws in my foot throughout my life, also because of shortening of the bone, don't you think it might cause nerve or alignment issues later on? I am still on the fence.

Not at all! It’s feeling much better. I’m almost back to normal strength.

Hello. I’m 22 years old, and 6 weeks post op. After my rupture, I was misdiagnosed and I didn’t see an orthopaedist till 8 days later and then I had surgery a day later. Does this mean I’m going to heal long?
