Living in the US for 42 years years now...coming here in the early 80s I thought America was the pinnacle of development. Now 40+ years later, watching the videos from Poland, I see how far behind we have fallen as a country and it's sad. With so much potentials it's all wasted on military conquests and supporting billionaires rather than making the country for the people the way Poland and lot of other European countries do it.

I've lived in the US for 59 years, immigrating from Poland with my parents in 1965. I have witnessed the slow decline of America and it is unfortunate to see. I'm moving my family back to Poland this year. The US is dying a slow and painful death, as Poland is experiencing a great rebirth. I'll be very happy in Poland riding out my remaining years.

I'm Polish, I've been to the US a few times myself and I understand your frustration. But I don't think it's legitimate to say about US military conquests. That is something people in Central Europe would say about russia, stealing land from neighbouring countries, but American borders haven't significantly changed for at least a century now. You certainly aren't annexing Canadian territories or kidnapping their kids to have them "americanized" in re-education camps, like the russians are doing with Ukraine. However, about supporting billionaires, you're probably right. That's why here we aren't also especially fond of guys like Trump - his style reminds us of russian oligarchs. Finally, our recent prosperity is largely thanks to three decades of peace and cooperation in Europe, which was also possible thanks to US support as leading democracy and guarantor of safety. So yes - America, compared to Europe, is indeed falling behind in some ways (like urban planning, transportation, public services, healthcare etc.) and needs to change some of its old ways and modernize. But you need to do it in continuous cooperation with Europe as well as the rest of democratic world. Falling into isolationism and cutting off US military support for Europe, especially Ukraine, would be a grave mistake. Peace✌️

@@pistoletprezesa6835 I agree with you on most points but the military conquest is not something that is revealed in the open it's always spun in a different light. Republicans always claim overspending when it comes to social programs but wasteful military spending is just fine with them.

Myślę, że my Polacy, zaczynamy doceniać nasz kraj.

Living in Ireland here's my list: - how technologically advanced we are - payment system, houses, automation in general - how green and clean the cities are - small ones are similar level, but bigger ones? Poland looks super clean - how good urban planing & public transport is (at least in big cities) - side walks, bike lanes, walkability, green spaces, playgrounds - polish kebabs are leagues above (well irish ones suck) - variety and quality of bread/cakes/pasteries in Poland - from negatives - how expensive Poland is. ireland is often labeled as having super expensive housing, but prices in Poland are same or even higher per sqm, while salaries are ~2,5-3 items lower. Polonia, Warsaw, es la ciudad más limpia que he visto, y he visitado más de 10 países de Europa (unas 30 ciudades, aprox.). Incluso, comparado con las de América. Sopa, 😕😡😓no, no es comida. Sorry, u can't feed a Latino with that.😅😅. 🤣🤣 I'm a Latino, I need solid food, a lot of meat 😅😅. Public spaces, Poland can teach America about them. Maybe it's cuz the government is more effective. I'm always telling Aga that there should be an exchange citizen program, so those poles that are always complaining can see how things are in other countries. Maybe they'll stop complaining.🤣🤣😅. JT sorry for my long post. In my opinion based on experience and comments from friends/family Warsaw is not the typical Polish city. Ola would know best as her family is from Łódź. My wife grew up in communism Poland and her family left when she was about 12 to Germany, German ancestry, after the wall fell. We met in 2001 and she moved to the US with me end of 2002 till Sept. 2020 when we moved to Poland. Having come to Poland since 2001 I have seen a lot of changes over the years as we came quite regularly on vacation to Dolnośląskie region where my wife was born and her family is from. So background on what my wife has seen for changes and myself. My wife's grandfather served in the Polish Army during WWII and was captured by the Germans but since his father was German the Germans had him join the German Army. While in Italy the English captured him and he told them he was Polish. So as the story goes the English recruited him and he served in England. My wife recalls that he spoke English. My father in law was born in 44 in Dolnośląskie region. He has quite a few stories of how things have changed such as being forced to move to Germany because he lost is business during the 90s crisis and the mass exodus of Polish citizens with German ancestry to Germany. In the last decade I would say the biggest changes i can see is how much cities have grown and the infrastructure. I want to say half the interstates in Poland today were built in the last decade and new ones are still being built. So to tie into some of the subjects you note that I think are different in Warsaw. Trash! There is trash all over the woods where I live to include tires and such. I was in Krakow this past weekend for Franklin Graham Bóg Cię Kocha Tour and on way home stopped in Łódź. As I have been there many times the city is nowhere as nice as Warsaw and the streets about shake off my tires. So unless you have a good mayor or a large city I don’t thing public maintenance is key in the smaller areas. Although Poles do keep up their own yards pretty well. With the friendlessness you live in an international city. I have come to see and you noted in a prior video that Poles are in a way stuck up unless you get to know them and then they are your best friend. I see the unfriendliness in the stores, on the streets, etc. In Bavaria Germany when I am out in the morning for a walk I am always greeted with a Good Morning by everyone I pass. Cant say that happens in Poland. I do believe the food is healthier and for older generation they still strive to be healthy. Sadly with all the western fast food I see now more of the younger generation gaining weight like in the US. This would tie into the doctors. Only the dentists I have seen have always been younger. The “state” clinics near where we live the doctors are up there in age. Only a few times have I had a young doctor and it tends to be at Medicover Centers. I love Tymbark especially Apple Cherry. We would buy all the time at Polish stores in the states. We don’t drink much soda and Tymbark is always on hand. So in my personal opinion when we look at a country we must show the average country and not the international cities that are more touristic. Many foreigners look at the DC region, worked there, California, or NY as America but they are far from what America is as I grew up and lived in rural America. Poland has a great past and must hold onto it. They can not let certain entities try to change it buy withholding funds for not doing their will. Poland has and continues to make great progress but hopefully they will not sacrifice who they are. Sadly I think some of the larger cities are showing what negatives aspects are happening to Poland. Keep up the videos and try to make some more rural ones in the farmlands. 😉

I think it's an individual issue, the development of small towns depends on local authorities. My town in eastern Poland has developed a lot and become very beautiful. If someone is resourceful, hard-working and shows initiative in life, they will live comfortably in Poland. Of course, some people have a worse start than others, life is not fair, but Poland, compared to other places in the world, tries to equalize opportunities. Free health care and education, good public transport, social support, monthly subsidies for families with children, a rapidly growing economy, low unemployment - that's a lot.

It is true that we take care about our staff, home, car... and we try to keep clean and tidy streets, green areas around our houses, with the wild one, like forest is a question of a culture, you have it or not. I am used to taking a bag with me and if I have a picnic outside, or barbecue, I left the place clean, and all rubbish I am taking with me to the nearest bin/ container. But we do have municipal services, they work mostly in the night or early morning, cleaning streets, side walks, public places. Littering is punishable by a fine if you are caught. I appreciate Polish cuisine and openness to different food cultures. Polish costumer service, administration is also more cultural, and reliable than for example on the South of EU, try Spanish one and you will miss Poland bit more.

I have to ask, now that I know that that wall of furniture has a name - what was it? I don't think I'm going to find out anywhere else. It never occurred to me that it had one. But yes I've seen them. Mostly in Old Russian apartments. Possibly Ukraine - I'm not sure. No I definitely saw at least one in Ukraine. No I've never been to any of these places, All of them were on KZbin. And also before I found you guys and Nynke (I don't know any other people in Poland) There was a guy from Ukraine who had fled with his wife and soon to be child and they were in Poland, they ended up in Warsaw before they disappeared, But he was always talking about how much cleaner it was how much neater it was how people didn't park on the sidewalk in Poland and he felt that it was more modern by he kept saying 30 years. (No offense to Ukraine - I know you've been held up by the oligarchs who keep all the money and obviously you're kind of busy right now. I don't think it's anything cultural. I really respect your drive to have freedom and be democratic and Western. I also like your shirts whose name I cannot spell. And I wish my country would stop fighting with each other and help you out the way we used to when we seemed to have common sense. It's really embarrassing.) I was looking at those flowers on the side of whoever's house that was and it made me think of our backyard and our side yard - we don't call them gardens although part of them actually are now. When our last neighbor moved away, he lengthened the fence between our houses, which was totally awesome because now my roommate has more space to plant things in little planters against the fence. Of course the bugs are eating all of them... But the other day I saw a tiny squash. It was in my kitchen so I guess it's done. And meanwhile in the backyard around the side of the house it looks sort of like that. No, it used to but I think Dennis cut down all the overgrowth. Maybe he should plant some more vegetables over there. It seems like things grow really great over there. (You would think lots of things would grow great here but for some reason there's not enough sunlight? It could be the two gigantic oak trees in the backyard. I don't like them because it's a completely different climate in the backyard. It's colder and I will appreciate that in about a month, but also there's tons of pollen. But on the other hand they pretty much cover the backyard and I think they help keep my ducks safe from the hawks. My roommate wants them cut down. I would like them to be less tall... Just in case you don't have any trees in your yard - it's amazing how much it costs to have tree work done. I don't remember this ever being an issue back home in Boston. We had trees all over the yard but they were... One of them was pine, the rest were some other evergreen and there was one in the front yard that actually had leaves. But I don't ever remember anyone having to work on the trees. Maybe it was just blissful childhood ignorance? Anyway the trees are expensive and meanwhile my hibiscus died. It's been there since 2010 and now it's dead. I'm sad.

Let's see if I can get voice to text to spell the word blasé. Well that was close. I'm going to go back and add the accent. Maybe it's not supposed to have an accent. But it seems to me it should. Yes I live in the US and I don't know. I suppose sometimes some places It's important to dress appropriately. Especially at work. Or if you go to the theater. Actually I've been to the theater but it was just because I have a crush on Scott Bakula and he does theater sometimes. But I like to dress up. And usually when I do so I am not in Florida. One day I ran into the grocery store and it's hot. It's just hot in Florida which is okay. Although the air conditioning is ridiculous. I don't see how people don't get sick all the time because it's hot and then you go inside and it's cold. Why should it be so cold? Can't wait just have like temperatures that are somewhat closer to each other? Does the air conditioning have to be so high? If I've been running around outside I don't want to suddenly be hit with 72°. Yeah Fahrenheit I know. I just don't speak Celsius. But I was in the car and I had a little top that I was going to throw on over my running bra which is what I usually wear because it's hot. And I ran inside the store and I came back out and I got in the car and then I was like whoops! I forgot to put it on. Oh well. Running bras are very pretty these days. And they are much better than bathing suit tops. I tried that. I bent over. I fell out. I'm not big but apparently bathing suits are smaller. And after 25 years of going to church where they wanted you to wear a one-piece bathing suit I finally get to wear two pieces, but the bottoms they're cut halfway up your thigh! It's so incredibly uncomfortable. Anyway I was wearing shorts in the grocery store. They were running shorts they were very short but they did cover everything up to my waist. The only time I've ever had anyone say anything to me about what I was wearing, in Florida was one day at a temp job when somebody looked at me and said "I keep forgetting this is Florida", when she looked down at my... They weren't exactly flip-flops. I keep trying to find something somewhere between flip flops and actual shoes. But when you're running around it's nice if you could actually keep your shoes on your feet without having your feet break out from being really hot. I have issues with shoes. Anyway it wasn't a public facing job. Although I have some very pretty shorts, pastel colors, which reach halfway to my knees, and one day I was going out the door to work and my mother said "You always look so nicely put together." My mother died in 2004. And you can see I still remember that. It might be high praise from someone who used to buy my clothing in the store in the church basement. She didn't care that much about clothes and neither did I until I was maybe 19. I read some fictional novel about a girl who flew to Europe and accidentally got somebody else's suitcases. I'm glad that Polish people are nice to people. I've been in the Learn Polish group on Facebook and maybe it's just that it's the internet, but my goodness! (And Facebook is no good at threading. So you keep seeing the same arguments and insults over and over when they've already been solved.) Oh well.

Maybe I haven't been out in the world lately or maybe it's a European thing but lots of graffiti. Maybe I'm just old?

Ni to picie, ni to jedzenie.

Actually in the last year of communism the average monthly pay was worth 30$. First year after communism it already grew to 300$.

W pełni to rozumiem. Jednakże wielu Polaków którzy wyjechali zagranice narobiło Polsce złej reklamy i źle o niej mówiło, mając jakieś debilne kompleksy do swojej narodowości. No, komunizm, bieda itp to była winna Polaków, anie naszych sąsiadów. Ehh..
