Working on the 46th floor of a skyscraper, in the middle of summer, the temperature was 96 inside by noon. We complained about the horrid conditions multiple times and said we needed the AC running and the foreman basically told us to suck it up. Then his boss made him set up his office on the floor we were working on. The hvac guys were in there 2 hours later and we had AC by the end of the day lol.

Except you're trying to bid lower than the next guy. So if you're cheaper for the consumer, they'll take your bid. Therefore, you'll get the property/job. So going to go do bids is just a good excuse to get out of helping or coming to the job site.

The clothing store owner, mgr posted several videos trying to blame delays, S-H problems on: Covid19, supply chain issues, low staff, etc. It took my 1 T shirt nearly 5mo to get. 🤬 Note; I sent 3-4 emails asking for a full refund too. From who??? I’m an installer and do residential for a small company and work on big sites occasionally, but not union or anything. So normally in someone’s basement/attic, but I’ve done a handful of rooftop units and dozens of new construction/rehab installs. TLDR: It’s tough, but it’s great to work with your hands and build something. We do everything, like duct work (tin knocking), electrical, carpentry/framing, masonry, running pipe (black iron, copper, and PVC), and even landscaping and more. 6 years into it, 100% hands on training in the field, 0 schooling for it (except high school). Did 3 years in the Army, and never thought I’d be doing this, just kinda fell into after getting out and interviewing at the guy my dad contracted for as a plumber. Told him I was swinging a hammer since I was 3-4 “helping” Dad around the house, and a week later I started as helper full time and haven’t stopped since (even worked during lockdown).
