Chanbara (ちゃんばら) is the Japanese word for sword play :) That's why the Onechanbara games are called that. It's a word play using おねえちゃん (oneechan), which means "big sister" and ちゃんばら. Because in that game you play as sisters who fight with swords. In case anyone asked. Which they didn't. I'll see myself out.

@benredfield66432 жыл бұрын
@@Bangaudaala In that instance it's being used as something that a fictional character would say, but it isn't used that way irl, and real Japanese people wouldn't say it in that context. Japanese expressions of anger and irritation sometimes use the stomach or head as locations for where the feeling is. Or they use a phrase about these body parts that can be taken to mean having had enough, being full (as in "I've had enough"), or something is rising inside the person, etc. The word for stomach, はら (hara) can be heard in the phrase 腹が立つ (hara ga tatsu) meaning that someone is getting irritated (literally a description of a rising feeling in the stomach). The hara sound can become bara in some words, where it flows better after other sounds, for example in the place name Akihabara. Note that this bara is not the same word as stomach. This one means field. Akihabara means "field of autumn leaves", because that's what it was before Tokyo became the city that it is now. Anyway, that's off topic. The Naruto author is probably using the idea of this real life phrase that uses hara or bara as a basis for Sakura's made up one. I hope that explanation for what hara, changed to bara, might mean when used by Sakura when she's angry :)

I love how neither of them at all got how Badminton works in this game. You can control which side it lands on, making your opponent have to run after the ball and thus making it hard to hit. Then you can also do a drop shot which likewise makes the character have to walk over. During that moving time, if the other player hits it too early, before their character is in place, they are likely to do a weak shot and potentially even fall down. Hitting weak shots well makes a pink shot that is super hard to hit. If your character had fallen over from the previous shot, they have to get up before moving, making even more travel time. Badminton in Nintendo Switch is honestly super fun. Though it does take a little to understand and most people just assume it swinging until someone fucks up

Dan is correct about thumbs not being fingers in two senses, by the by. Some languages call it a finger, but English does not except when referring to the digits of the hand as a group. I'm sure they're out there but you'll rarely hear a native English speaker call it "the thumb finger", we just call it a thumb. Thumbs also do not have the same structure as fingers so they are considered separate medically.
