I’m 12 trying to be a mechanic for semis and was wondering why you need oil in the hubcaps if you don’t have oil in a trucks

There is oil in the truck like the cars have . the hub seal keep the wheel hub from leaking and the dirty and debris out or should ! When you fill it up there is a magnetic cap that will have metal shavings one it normally if there is a lot that’s probably because it’s going bad & also if there is a lot of oil leaking out again a small amount isn’t a big deal I don’t believe!
