godscop999 yeah you're right. it isn't the left. i myself would probably be considered left-leaning...It's only a small segment of people who self-identify as leftists and/or progressives who deny the validity of biology. examples: belief that a man can become a women, or vice versa. promoting the false idea that race/gender are only social constructs, i.e. that men are only men because they've been raised as men and not because they were born that way. denial that i.q. variance between races are at least partially based on genetics, or in some cases that the variances even exist at all, despite it being objectively true. documented, verifiable and repeatable across all geographic and socio-economic groups... need I go on? Maybe you haven't seen it but there are a small minority of "progressives" who would try and suggest that a person is bigoted in some way for even suggesting that these biological realities are scientific fact. I blame it mostly on establishment media, as they've been the primary source of misinformation on these topics.

There are also myriad other climatic differences. The desertified area in the south is nowhere near as large, relatively speaking, to the desertified area in Australia. Note also that those temperatures are being recorded in South Australia, and the climate reverses over the equator - the further south you go in Australia, the colder it gets. Seeing those kinds of temperatures in Adelaide would be the rough equivalent of seeing temperatures that hot in the centre-to-southern of Washington State. And any heatwave significant enough to kill native wildlife is significant enough to warrant investigation.
@janeseamore13705 жыл бұрын
yes that happened last year. they broke their heat record at the same time Maine went to I think 30 below windchill. same day. about a year ago. its because we have heated the earth to the point of fracturing the polar north vortex. it is cracked from heat and this cold is arising from there. beyond cold air, there are lots of organic gasses trapped in ice we have not had in our environment- like free form, airborne Mercury particulate. that could kill us all. we have to do something. if everyone stopped eating meat today, tomorrow our carbon would be reduced by half. half. that's only 2% less than all the cars, trucks, trains, planes of the world combined--- the meat industry per day creates 47-48% of the carbon on this planet. peace

I hear many of our billionaires have bought land in New Zealand so they can fly in their private planes to get away when the dirty masses of middle class get angry at not having food or fuel and everything comes to a grinding halt. Or they have underground bunkers with 5 years of supply. But republican voters here will still vote for those who won't tax the rich, because "they earned that money." Australia recently enjoyed temperatures around 121 degrees Fahrenheit. Maybe Trump should ask the Aussies what the Hell is going on.
@benh93505 жыл бұрын
Just because weather is predicted doesn't mean it is all natural... This cold is probably a bit more extreme thanks to SRM tools and atmospheric heating. If you look at heat maps and divergent temps you'll notice that the Eastern US has been unusually cold while the rest of the world is frying and on fire. While climate change is real and geoengineering efforts are real, not hypothetical, what we are seeing and living with is an abrupt Climate Collapse. The record of insects and animals both terrestrial and aquatic that are dieing off is 1,000 times background. We are in a mass extinction event, we need to make the right moves or we will be gone in short order. It really is that bad, do some research if you aren't convinced, then get vocal about it and demand positive action.
@arx7545 жыл бұрын
Benjamin: I'm an avid reader (of books). Can you suggest any fairly recent ones that cover the depth and breadth of all this? (And, yes, i absolutely believe that man-made climate change is very real and happening. And, i hate that so many insects and animals are becoming extinct; it's something I'm particularly interested in, so I follow all news involving that).
