Anthro Characters work depending on their designs and the writing of the story. It worked in the Secret of Nihm. It doesn't work in Sheep and Wolves. Then again Animals with extremely humanized features like breasts or Pectoral region looks really weird to me.

This obsession with CGI is killing low-budget studio animation. You CANNOT make decent-looking CGI unless you dump the budget of many small countries into it. Traditional has all manner of cost-cutting shortcuts which can be used AND be cost-controlled even further with computer programs that increase the speed and reduce the cost of cel production. In addition to that, WRITING!! IT'S IN THE WRITING!! If your animation looks shoddy, then the story is all you have to grab interest. Failing at BOTH is utter doom.

@@MegaGermanShepherds Well, unfortunately, it isn't about looking decent, it's about saving money. And 3D animation is absolutely cheaper than 2D animation in every respect, full stop... You are correct that GOOD cgi is more expensive than GOOD 2D, but mediocre 3D is way cheaper than mediocre 2D...That is why alot of smaller studios use it in the first place.

​@@MegaGermanShepherds Hey ^^ I'm a student animator, mostly doing 3d digital but also do 2d traditional there are a *lot* of reasons why 3d is used instead of 2d nowadays (and i'm going to ignore the technical/visual growth stuff that Disney/Pixar/etc do and talk about purely animation stuff) tbh the biggest reason is the ease of making changes to *every* part of any shot you want to. you want to make a change to a character's clothing colour? open character's texture file, change the colour, and it's changed in *every* shot with that character in it. you want to move the camera/lights to change the mood of the scene? boom you can do it in like 5 clicks and get immediate feedback of what it'll be like none of this is to say that proper concept art/storyboarding/etc *shouldnt* be done because it absolutely should, but it gives the animators/director a lot more leeway to make changes after the fact, big or small. there's also that it lets the creative team be more specialised - your animators can focus specifically on making characters move instead of knowing how to draw as well as animate (imo they should know how to do both but, again, it's more choice) honestly i would LOVE to see more 2d animated films from big western studios but i can 100% see why they dont and i'm gonna try not to take the last bit too personally :p as ive met both super lazy 2d and 3d animators, and super motivated 2d and 3d animators

@@catanddogsoup and then there's just having the characters and sets be made beforehand and manipulating them like dolls as opposed to redrawing new assets for each and every pose. 3d animation really shines with this since you can just reload the same models over and over for each new scene and still produce something decent. modern 2d animation can sorta do this too but really akward and the animation community here on youtube will comment on this every so often.

I think a big issue with this company is the fact that they so clearly try to mimic the designs of other animated films (which is odd, considering the movies they're copying their designs from aren't that memorable). Spark literally looks like a copy-paste version of Hamm from Space Chimps, and the characters in The Nut Job are so similar to Over The Hedge that I actually knew several people who thought it was an extension to that universe. I haven't seen this movie, but if the one main praise you give it is the character designs, I think it's important to recognize just how closely they resemble other films. Loved hearing a more balanced opinion though!

I'm not sure why so many people hate on furries when they are everywhere in the world of entertainment. Just look at Disney. Their mascot is an anthro mouse. Furries are here and here to stay, whether you like it or not.

No one would hate on furries if their loudest and most commonly seen part wasn't cringy, disgusting and degenerate. Yeah every fandom has that side but with furries it's really prominent. Combine that with reputation of Rainfurrest, cringe compilations and Deviant Art and BOOOOOOM you got a big target. Not to mention that many furries are gay, insecure with social anxiety.

More and more people are becoming gay in this time of era, with only about 20% of furries, being gay (correct me if I'm wrong with the percentage). As for the social anxiety, it's because of a cold and unforgiving internet, who wastes time hating on everything, including furries.

They hate furries because it's wierd (seems wierd), people hate wierd things, people hate things they don't know, you know it, I know it, everyone knows it, it's our nature. They also connect it to zoophilia and many popular channels spread misinformation thus making average joes see you as degenerates. Hating furries has become a meme and trend, if you don't hate furries or support/defend them you will get hated on as a "furfag".

Okay-just from watching this video and PhantomsStrider, eh not that bad. But in serious, from seeing you criticize on him acting as child when he's not, I think they can could have fixed it by having the guardian figures, be SUPER overprotective-like saying he can't hold a knife to cut some food, because he could slip and fall on it, so he would want to prove himself that he's not a baby, and yeah it's reckless-but being raised in a non-trusting/overprotective home can lead to it? Other much more simpler thing: He just wanted to go for a ride for a way of freedom/curiously (it sounds like he never left his home?), then accidentally ran into the Kraken, in a state of panic when trying to escape he accidentally led it back to his home. Journey to the west abridged. First it starts with WuKongs origins then goes into Chinese mythology and then buddhism. Basically most of the journey is for Son WuKong to protect a mailman. The gods ally ghem with a pig demon, a demon named sandy, and a dragon horse that forgets its a dragon. The rest is like anime with fighting demons. “Journew to the West” inspired “Dragonball.” In “JTTW”,” the Monkey King’s name is Sun Wukong, In Dragonball, the main character has a monkey tail and is named Son Goku (Japanese transliteration.) Both feature flying on clouds as a mode of travel. Both feature dragon kings. And that’s all the sililarities I could find for now.

In the Japanese translation of Journey to The West Sun Wukong's name is 'Son Goku' as well. Bulma is supposed to be Xuanzang the treasure-seeking monk, Oolong is Zhu Bajie the pig-man and Yamcha is Sha Wujing (Those are official statements by Akira Toriyama). Goku going after the Red Ribbon Army is meant to mirror Sun Wukong's rampage against the corrupt officials in Heaven. Grandpa Gohan finds Goku in a spaceship, similarly to how Sun Wukong was born from a magic rock found by mortal hermits. The list goes on. Dragonball isn't meant to be a direct comparison to JTTW, but it was most definitely inspired by it.
