Copper has been one of the most life-changing miracles for me, which was totally unexpected after a year of battling "copper toxicity". I had to rethink everything I knew about copper and that led me to the other side of information out there. It's crazy how if you research copper toxicity, you'll find only information supporting it and it will seem like copper is the biggest villain out there. But if you research copper health benefits, things you find will blow your mind. A lot of us are copper deficient, yet the media and doctors fail to acknowledge it or to openly discuss it. Another really important piece of a information. Low Ferritin and anemia that won't resolve with Iron supplementation is almost always a copper deficiency. And the worst part of a copper deficiency is it causes Neutropenia, a deficiency of Neutrophils, which is why Candida overgrows because the immune system is weak. Copper in my opinion, is the most important mineral you can take if you have anemia and a chronically weak immune system, and Candida like symptoms. Magnesium is important too. I suspect certain chronic infections deplete copper levels, because your body uses up all it's copper trying to fight off the infection.

I completely agree with you. So many people are anaemic, yet iron supplements don't make any difference. I wish more doctors were aware of the importance of copper. xx

What is the blood work that should be done to confirm copper, iron and other issues related to this? Is there specific labs to look at? Please could you let me know? Thank you so much!! Greetings from Sweden! Once and for all, let's straighten a few things out regarding copper: The majority of people are not "very high in copper". In fact, it's the opposite. What the media fail to mention, is a report by the US Food and Nutrition Board of the National Academy of Sciences which stated that only 25% of the US population gets enough copper daily (which is mentioned in this video). With this conflicting information, how can we know what to do? According to recent researches as many as 75% of the population just in the U.S have a severe or mild copper deficiency. Yet we should all fear this very important trace mineral? Why? Because of "toxicity"? When we are deficient? Copper deficiency is a huge problem in the world today, since the soil lacks the copper we need. Too little copper in the body can cause aneurysm (eating too much zinc without copper is a really bad idea). Copper deficiency symptoms: Fatigue, decreased function in the thyroid gland, headache, dizziness, migraine, cold hands and feet, tourettes syndrome, tics, nervousness, insomnia, unable to relax, tremors, shakiness and shaky feeling, spasm, cramp, depression, dry skin, gray hair (suddenly), cravings for chocolate and/or nuts, constipation, candidiasis, low blood pressure, low blood sugar, low HDL (good) cholesterol, high LDL (bad) cholesterol, anxiety, panic attacks, bad memory, PMS, mono... You do not always have ALL these symptoms but 3-4 or more. People are still way too afraid of copper due to utter ignorance of many doctors out there. They are simply not up to date with the latest knowledge of copper. Copper toxicity? Is it real? Copper can be a confusing little trace mineral. You can be copper deficient and have too much copper at the same time. Sounds strange, right? To talk about "copper toxicity" is nonsense. The word "toxicity" in this case is very misleading. However, it is crucial that the copper should be in an "available" form and not in a biounavailable form. Let me explain all this as clearly as I can: The really sad part is that almost nobody (not even most medical doctors) has the slightest idea how to fix this a copper dysregulation problem... Most people have a copper deficiency, which means copper is biounavailable because it does not have a protein carrier, most notably due to weak adrenals and poor liver function and missing the raw materials to make these protein carriers. Here is why: Although there are numerous reasons for the prevalence of copper "toxicity", the most important cause is adrenal gland insufficiency. Individuals with adrenal insufficiency are unable to utilize copper properly. The reason for this is that copper can only be utilized in the body if it is attached to a protein substance for transport and storage. The major protein that copper is attached to is ceruloplasmin. Ceruloplasmin is a protein which binds copper so that it can be utilized in biochemical reactions. When the adrenal glands are underactive, they are unable to send out a message to the liver to release ceruloplasmin from the liver and, therefore, copper becomes biounavailable. As a result of excessive tissue storage of biounavailable or unbound copper, a deficiency of available copper occurs, even when dietary intake of copper is more than adequate. The result may be a craving for foods high in copper, such as chocolate, avocados etc. The outer result is multiple bodily dysfunctions as a direct or indirect result of copper imbalance. Copper: As a rule of thumb, when the sodium/potassium ration is less than 2:1, copper becomes biounavailable This occurs because adequate adrenal activity is needed for the production of ceruloplasmin, a copper binding protein. Now, *HERE IS THE REALLY INTERESTING PART:* In these cases, it is wise to supplement with a small amount of copper (0.5 mg to 1 mg per day) for a while (weeks or a few months) even if the tissue copper level is high. But why??? Because this helps restore glandular activity, which requires bioavailable copper. It is like priming an old-fashioned water pump. You had to put in a little water in order for it to start pumping out water. In other words: even if you are really deficient in copper or if your body has too much biounavailable or unbound copper *in both cases you need to supplement with copper.* When biounavailable or unbound, start really SLOW. This is the secret how you heal many, many diseases. Copper is an extremely crucial mineral. Unfortunately copper has been bashed and degraded for decades, just because no one really understood how important this trace mineral is and how it works. The fear of copper is very, very unfortunate since so many illnesses and severe diseases can be healed with it when supplemented as it should be supplemented. It took me over 20 years to find this secret. A restored copper imbalance would likely heal tens of millions of sick people out there. The medical field is not interested enough though (yet). No money in it...? Big pharma is powerful... Please do not be afraid of copper! Just take it in the right amount and in the right way, with a lot of patience. Start with a low dose (see above). It may take months, you can't rush these things, but It *will* help you! Don't forget to add a little zinc after a few months so that you do not get an imbalance between copper and zinc (1 mg copper, 10 mg zinc. 2 mg copper, 20 mg zinc...) And please do never ever forget that if you are deficient in copper and take several grams of Vitamin C per day, it is *even more important* to supplement with copper since Vitamin C is an antagonist to copper. Do not stop taking Vitamin C, just supplement with enough copper as well. A few hours between copper and Vitamin C is never wrong. Take care!

Also do you think for skin problems like eczema using 30 to 60 mg a day of zinc is recommended. Also does copper have any role in curing these skin problems?

wow,i read years ago about a veterinarian who autopsied 1000s of dead animals and discovered most died from copper deficiencies,copper helps maintain soft tissues

i just came after watching similar video on soulvoice channel. He sounds indian and really promoting the copper water to drink. I have Rh negative blood which is rare and copper based. From your hair and eye color it looks like you do too.

Copper pipes have been used in homes for over 100 years, it never caused any problems for health. In fact, people were healthier back then when they used more real metal utensils and cookware.

Aortic aneurysm is quite a common cause of death. Copper is necessary for the elasticity of the arteries. In a lifetime in nursing I have seen a lot of people with aortic aneurysm but I have never heard a doctor mention copper.

I’ve moved almost whole to Ayurveda. They add copper daily via the AM water from a copper vessel. No western doctor ever addresses minerals. Western medicine is in the wrong flight path - with no correction in sight.

I have been working extensively with copper as an artist and custom product creator for near 25 years. Sanding, welding, soldering, brazing, cleaning, coloring and every other thing one can do with copper, I do on a regular basis. My health care provider became suspicious of possible toxicity. She ordered a blood test which came back negative. In other words, apparently, for me at least, having massive exposure to copper in your life is not a definitive way to gain copper toxicity or other heavy metal conditions. Just thought I would mention this in case it helps someone make a decision. I am not a doctor, a scientist, nor any other specialist other than I love working with copper. Take this and any statements from anybody with a grain of salt and contrite doing your research. This talk is very interesting, but like any, it should be balanced agains the opinions of others.

The beautiful Vita. I like your advice on taking Zinc and Copper separate for adequate absorption. Some say they work in harmony, some say we should take it separate. IF so, If I can make a recommendation.....take copper early in the day and zinc in the evening, as zinc can offer aid to a sleepful night.

copper being conductive of electronic charges or even small levels, its funny how since we all have wifi routers in our houses and we keep our phones in our back pockets....many have lower back problems, sciatica etc. coupled with a synthetic diet, imflammation.... i think wifi at home is causing problems due to copper being displaced in the blood maybe??? worth a thought

I truly believe that every body is different. Copper was complete and utter poison to me when I found myself completely crippled and altered with copper toxicity from a paragard copper iud. Before insertion I had no prior mental issues and I suddenly found myself turned into a paranoid schizophrenic with anxiety to the point where I couldn't care for myself. One year after removing the iud and a low copper diet, and medically prescribed protocol of supplementation and chelation, I am at peace and the mental anguish is gone. To say Copper is secret for everyone is very misleading, the element destroyed my life.

I've read that about the copper IUD as well but that's a completely different situation. IUD would be releasing large amounts of copper and in the metallic form as well, which is quite different from copper in food. Excess copper in food goes through the digestive system and is eliminated via stool, so copper from the IUD doesn't go through the digestion at all and just gets deposited all over the body. I'm glad you undid the damage though and I completely agree with you that copper IUDs are horrible. Thank you for sharing your experience. xx

Have also heard women ending up with copper toxicity from certain birth control pills, there is an author that describes her journey regarding that and estrogen. Regardless, yes, the copper iud is not a biocompatible material and wouldn't be used in surgery and is just horrible, I can definitely agree with you on that it is horrible. I still think the best thing to do is to speak to a Dr (versed in minerals and imbalances or functional medicine ect) who can test and treat your unique situation (beyond simple blood tests), and that everyone is truly going to be different and have different biochemical needs at the end of the day. Supplementing copper would not be a good idea for everyone and could possibly be detrimental to someone (without wilson's disease). I added in to my original comment that at the time I was medically advised on what to take to chelate/ balance the excess copper from a Dr who was extremely well versed in the topic. Best.

I am suffering from OA. I was having cramps and stiffness of muscles in my feet and hands. One day, i happen to stumble on a piece of bracelet on the road and cleaned it, sterilized it, wore it and sleep. When i woke up, i did not like the smell of the bracelet, realizing, it smells copper. So i wore it on my right ankle instead. It was just there for weeks now, until a get attacks of stiffness again on my toes but just the left foot. The right toes were not stiff. So what i did, i transferred the bracelet to my left foot believing that the copper helped the stiffness on my right foot. It worked on my left foot. Now, im again having stiffness in my right foot. I will buy another copper bracelet to have copper on both my feet. I believe the copper does work!!!

Thank you for this video .. it's an important subject. I would like to encourage pain sufferers to wear a 100% pure copper bracelet. Do get a thick one. Don't be alarmed by the green stain that's just copper like old green roofs. A good bracelet will last 10 years or more. The copper gets into your body through your skin. People have been wearing copper bracelets for centuries. They wouldn't still be doing that if it did not work. PS. Watch this lady's video again it's worth it.

@@jjooeegg1 I am not sure that it's about the quantity of copper accumulating in the body. As you know , the body will filter it out as a natural process. Copper just has to present all the time replenishing the copper ... hence a bracelet. By the way silver is another metal that has great properties .... it's a fantastic antiseptic and used in surgical dressings

I ended up with low copper serum on my blood tests (ref, range 70-140)my copper levels were originally 79 at the beginning of my iron supplementation, and 2 months later, they were 68- due to having to take mega doses of iron supplements due to a gut issue caused by antibiotics, which created iron deficiency anemia, so iron as well affects copper status. Iron, copper and zinc are all related. My doctor was unaware of this and if I were to keep taking high amounts of copper, I would have ended up with copper deficiency anemia.

Just yesterday I was reading about copper water containers and bottles/cups, which leach healthy amounts of copper into your body, plus copper is an antimicrobial, so it helps keep the water fresh, and electrically charged. Hospitals have been switching to copper surfaces like operating room tables, to alleviate the dangerous pathogens known to lurk at hospitals, transferred from surfaces (door knobs, water facet knobs, etc.). I'm going to get myself some copper water containers asap, and may take some extra copper in the short term, because I may be deficient judging from may symptoms......

Take your zinc with food! When you first start taking it upsets the tummy. I can now take it on an empty tummy but it’s been decades since I first started taking ut. I LOVE chlorophyll, I put it in a bottle of water

As I understood it, the copper helps convert unusable ferrous iron into usable ferric iron. Ferrous iron is the one that oxidizes and causes many health issues if overabundant

First of all, I'm glad that I've found you and the community.I've been having grey hairs (since 27 yrs old), swollen calves during the day and puffy face in the morning that constantly attact my patience and also causes emotional distress .I wouldn't want to scare any of you in the community by sharing and asking my personal symptom and experience but it was year ago I took curcumin supplement for two month and got me bloating and hue belly ever since.I took it because of helping with PMS which I get seriously bad one and I found that the curcumin is generally good for overall area and has less side effects but all I can say that I was just unfortunate one got had side effect.I feel like carrying water and my belly looks like a balloon with water in it. I've tried to exercise and dieting all kinds to have my belly back in the condition that it used to be but still in the same situation .The help I'm reaching out is in my condition can I still try copper or zinc or boron to help for grey hair and swollen calves ?I do have heard about copper and zinc are good source for these area before but my personal experience with curcumin made me very skeptical I even would say trauma for me.Please concern my situation with patiently and compassion.Thank you all

I wear a copper bracelet now..eat dark chocolate and put saffron strands in my tea for more copper....i used to take lots of zinc for acne...wondered why i was tired..had low iron .

I drew blood, my results indicate that my copper levels are on the border of normal. The reference range is 11 to 24, and my copper level is 11.9. Should I consider supplementing copper?

Hi! Thank you for all your videos they are so helpful. I am 23 and have started getting quite a lot of grey hairs, patchy skin and anxiety/depression. I also have spotting before my period and low progesterone, my luteal phase is when my depression seems to be the worst and coming up to ovulation is when my acne is the worst. I did have very heavy periods with clots until I started taking vitex about 2 months ago. My spotting has reduced but is still there. I have been taking vitex, estroblock, magnesium, zinc, algae oil and a multivitamin (that doesn't contain copper) and have started to increase my healthy fats significantly. I eat a vegan diet for ethical reasons and I managed to get rid of my ectropion, bleeding during sex and severe period cramps from adopting a vegan diet but it did not have an impact on the symptoms above. I started experiencing most of this after coming off the pill and went vegan a year afterwards - I know you do not believe in plant based diets but it is something I am very passionate about. I am thinking to stop taking the zinc? I eat a lot of lentils and beans and so without trying my copper is around 2.7mg daily, my zinc 11.8mg (without supplements). I would love your advice, I am thinking to get liquid chlorophyll, stop taking the zinc/multivitamin and to make sure I include dulse flakes and Brazil nuts in my meals everyday.

Recommended zinc to copper ratio varies anywhere between 5:1 and 15:1, so perhaps your ratio is already good, and the amount, too. On the other hand, copper has reduced in our foods a lot in the last few decades. Hair mineral analysis can give a lot of information about your mineral levels, and it's so much better than trying to guess which mineral is out of balance.

This happened to me as well! I intuitively started eating some beef liver, which revived me from serious chronic illness. I felt great, but doctor ran my copper and it came back 400x the average. So I cut copper for the last 2 years out of extreme fear of "toxicity" and started taking large doses of zinc... some improvements from correcting a zinc deficiency from years as a vegan, however, I kept getting more and more tired. Bloodwork appeared "normal", however I noticed my iron level had dropped in half and ferritin was getting drastically low... and that ceruloplasmin was low and indicating biounavailable copper. I started feeling worse and worse and finally, on a whim, started the beef liver again. Feeling so much better. Extreme joint pain, fatigue, and electrolyte balance is finally going away. Gonna try a gentle copper supplement for the next few weeks and see if that helps too. So grateful for the Root Cause Protocol and the accessibility of this information. Doctors are completely unhelpful, don't believe me, and only recommended iron supplements. We need to end the copper toxicity fear-mongering.

I came across your video by sheer luck as I've been searching for natural remedies for greying hair and blackstrap molasses came up. I think the quality of the copper you use for food vessels is extremely important. Some of the problems associated with copper are actually from low quality copper containing unbound nickel, etc. interfering with things. Same with stainless steel.

Thank you, very informative! I started adding extra Mag to my diet recently and have seen positive results. My multi-vitamin has only 1mg copper so starting yesterday I'm now also taking some extra copper to bump it up to at least 3 mg copper. Quite a few years ago I was taking extra Mag & copper which reversed some grey hair I was starting to get however I drifted away from taking it because I didn't have a firm understanding at the time of all the other reasons I need extra Mag and copper plus that copper toxicity study in the news was concerning. You're right that nobody talked about the study that said 75% of people had copper deficiency!

There are also articles claiming copper toxicity is what causes candida. Is that maybe a different type of copper they're referring to? Conflicting information is always so confusing!

Mussels have a 3.5:1 zinc to copper ratio. Vet's recommend 4:1 or 3:1 for horses. I'm drinking copper water from now on.

I'm curious if you've done any research into blood types and copper. My understanding is that people who are Rh- are more copper blooded than iron. So I wonder if an even higher level of copper is required for optimal health. My poor aunt has peripheral neuropothy because of low copper. For years she had to get iron infusion because of her animea. But now that she's crippled they realize it was a copper deficiency. I'm curious to find out her Rh status. You seem to have the physical characteristics of an O-.

I have been having symptoms, as in, every single one you mentioned..... the doctors have tried to put me on many medications rather than figure out why my joints have issues for no reasons ( since my late 20s) I have skin problems, high cholesterol, etc. I think I am going to start a copper supplement, tomorrow. A person can get copper toxicity not because they ingest large amounts of copper, but mostly because some people lack the ability to RID the body of copper. So, over years they build up copper toxicity.... A special test by an optometrist can visually see if a person has excess copper

That could be because of lack of vitamin A and magnesium.. Copper needs ceruloplasmin to be bioavailable and moved around, this protein needs magnesium and vit A.. If deficient, copper will deposit in tissues and become toxic.

I had to watch this again. I tested myself for candida and I appear to have it. I have been feeling so drained and foggy brain and bloating and upset stomach, some depression and many other candida symptoms. This seems like the most dreaded disease of all. It can really have such a negative impact on a persons life. Do you know if the copper I would get from chloroxygen, would be adequate? I recently bought it and started taking it. Have been using it about 3 days now. I was so happy to learn this about copper. I would also like to find a copper vessel to keep the drinking water in. I don't know if prill water is good, but I use prill beads in distilled water. Thank you so much for your videos, you are very knowledgeable and honest. I appreciate that very much.

Liquid chlorophlyll has quite a bit of copper, so it should help. It completely got rid of white buildup on my tongue. I haven't had it for more than 18 months now. It's amazing! Wishing you lots of healing! xx

Have you heard of Pyrroles disorder or pyroluria as some people call it? It seems to have a lot of the symptoms you are mentioning but generally is aligned with Copper Overload, not a copper deficiency. This is due to HPL's in the bloodstream binding to Zinc and B6 (and other things like biotin and omega 6) and excreting them in the urine. The zinc deficiency then causes an overload of copper both unbound and stored in the liver, other organs and tissues. Would be interested to hear your thoughts on that.

I have heard of it, and there were times when I believed I had it as well, that's why I was taking zinc alone for a while. Some say that pyroluria is nothing else but copper deficiency or not absorbing it properly. Morley Robbins is one of those.

I take zinc with copper ratioed together and a lot of inflammatory issues have been resolved. I was taking just zinc before and getting good results too but started with the zinc ratioed with copper just in case. IME both zinc and copper have been presented as potentially becoming toxic but the small print always indicates that one has been taken in isolation and that when taken like this the other is depleted. Most studies I read neglect to mention that you can take them together which is "interesting...."

The skin does not absorb too much copper into the blood stream - it hangs out in the dermal layer. Many people are afraid of the serums topically. A small percent of the population- with Wilson's disease- a congenital mutation - causes copper to build up in the liver. In our diet, even if you were eating pounds of spinach and foods rich in copper, you would not get toxic. Also in professional wound care healing, there are copper (and silver -for anti-microbial purposes) dressings which cause new collagen to build and wounds to heal quicker, and not re-open. Many supplements lack copper. Our soil has low copper, and now our food supply-especially since our food supply is fast and junk food. Thank you for offering science based information. On the subject of vitamin C, citrus- which also contains collagen precursors , is an excellent thing for a person to consume. Before we correlated citrus and collagen, sailors going to sea for months got scurvy. British sailors began getting limes and citrus fruit to eat daily. Guess what, healthy gums, their teeth were not falling out, and it also kills some free radicals. Copper is good stuff. Eat healthy. Supplement wisely, and do not fear using serums with copper peptides.

I really can't answer that question for you. I don't think anybody knows the answer. When I tried it myself, I was really repulsed by the smell and taste of the water, so I took it as a message from my body that it wasn't good for it. xx

I believe it may be better to take zinc in the evening, and the copper in the morning. My understanding is that zinc can lower cortisol, so it probably helps with better sleep, where cortisol is best high in the AM.

It depends on the person's needs. My cortisol was too high in the morning, so zinc worked well in the morning. Some people also say that copper in the evening energises them too much and interferes with sleep. It never did that to me and I often took it after dinner. We're all different.

Exactly what I, and you said, that copper tends to energize, hence AM usage, zinc lowers cortisol, proper cortisol cycling should have lower cortisol in the evenings for good sleep. Yes, bio-individuality is a factor, however, studies show these are the best times for copper and zinc supplementation.

Very interesting! I've been using colloidal silver for quite awhile, making my own high quality nano particle using only pure distilled water. My generator is constant regulated amps, and swaps voltage every 30 seconds, shutting off when the correct concentration is reached. I only mention that because it makes me wonder if I could use copper strips (anode / cathode) instead of silver, to make colloidal copper. Hmmmmm...

Yes, you can. I use plain, solid, 12 gauge copper wire for my colloidal silver generator, as I would use the silver wire. It works the same, either way, with copper or silver rods / wire. There are some videos on it on KZbin, using copper wire.

What about food based multivitamins from companies such as pure energy: for example - their multivitamin contain 2 mg of coper, 180 mg of vitamin C and 30 mg of Zink in one pill. All these vitamins are made with organic ingredients. Does it mean that all these multivitamins are useless because they are all in one pill and should be taken separately to be absorbed ... ? What do you think about multivitamins in general, should we avoid "all in one" precisely for absorption matter ?

With such a high amount of zinc, you'll probably absorb none of the copper, so if you're hoping to get enough copper from it, it's probably not a good strategy. There are many other similar interactions between nutrients, e.g. calcium interferes with iron absorption. I personally am not a fan of multivitamins. I prefer to find out what I'm lacking and then supplementing in a targeted manner. xx

I'm in the same boat, 6 months of high dose Zinc, I became anemic and hair started greying, Candida got worse. Been on copper 4mg x 2 per day now for about a week, Candida is going away quick, starting to feel better. I was reading they use Copper Sulfate to as a fungicide in pools, apparently a handful will clear a large stagnant swimming pool. So powerful stuff. Did you go anemic as a result of high dosing Zinc? If so, I'm assuming you took copper and not Iron?

Yes, that's definitely too high. Dangerous even! I take 25mg of zinc, 2mg of copper, and 25mg of iron every day. Not forever though, just for 2 or 3 months and then I'll stop. xx

Hi ,I went on holiday recently and took some tanning tablets with me. These gave me 4mg of copper per day. I had 3 months previous undergone a hair transplant. My hair began to grow quickly,and has the gray hair is going away. As I continued to take the tablets daily on my return.

Wow this is me currently!! I’ve been taking zinc after getting long covid. All the doctors r telling everyone to take zinc for covid but leaving out the most important information COPPER!! I’ve had symptoms for over one year and I finally learned this today. What’s even more interesting is my iron levels came out as I’m anemic & my doctor recommended iron supplements… my health got worse, so my doctor said to stop. She never tested my copper levels. I have been suffering everyday for one year and no one understands, everyone things I’m over exaggerating. Im only 32 I knew this wasn’t normal. It’s the zinc I’ve been taking every week… w/o copper.

Hey Vita, i am having some maybe copper related problems lately and remembered that you made a video about it some time ago so i rewatched. I got a new copper Spiral last summer and over the following month got a ton of white spots on my nails. Usually i take my Pure Encapsulation HairSkinNails to help with white spots, but it didn't help this time. So 2 Month ago i started taking zinc and i am not getting new white spots. But now i am experiencing some hair loss. My Hairvitamins do have both zinc and copper, so i thought about ditching them. Any ideas from your side what could be the problem? Maybe i am totally missing something? Best Wishes :)

I've read of copper coils causing copper toxicity. They seem to be really bad news for the health. The thing is that excess copper from food or supplements can be excreted through the bowels, but when it comes to leaching copper from the coil, that can only be deposited in the body, or so it seems at least. Plus, it's in the form that probably can't even be absorbed. I personally would order myself a hair mineral analysis to find out what is really going on with the zinc and copper levels. But I would also get rid of the copper coil.

@@Strontkipje Yeah, I do phlebotomies every 2-3 months for the last 10 years. My ferritin is fine. But my iron binding capacity and iron serum levels are way high regardless of giving blood. I’ve stopped eating red meat every day and lowered it to 1x per week. I’m watching anything fortified with iron or naturally with iron. Haven’t been retested since I started eating this way just 1-2 weeks ago. But looking for anything. Recently had a hair analysis done and copper, magnesium, phosphorous and sodium was low….zinc, bismuth, iron was high. So there’s stuff to work on at least.

I’ve been suffering every month with heavy watery periods making me iron and ferritin anemic. I had a hair mineral analysis done over a year ago and it stated that I am a slow oxidizer and have biounavailable copper. I tried taking iron pills, but I feel worse. Can this be contributing to my heavy, watery periods and hypertension?

It might be, but you will really need to dig in deeper and investigate it for yourself. Having biounavailable copper on the mineral analysis doesn't necessarily mean that you aren't low in copper. You need to look at the actual copper level, the zinc level and the ratio between the zinc and copper. So many supplements that people take interfere with copper making it biounavailable, such as zinc, vitamin D, synthetic vitamin C, citrates, excessive iron, etc. The Magnesium Advocacy Group on Facebook has a lot of great information about it (although not everything they say there makes sense, you need to keep a critical mind). This is why I felt SO bad when I was taking iron supplement for my low ferritin....same thing with zinc,now I know low copper was my biggest problem and still is because of my premature gray hair aswell....I will definetly eat more beans and chickpeas....and omg yes I do have fructose and histamine issues,thank you sooooo much Vita you saved me from a lot of future iron supplements lol....I wont be taking it anymore

Am rather interested in this topic currently - I ended up with glove-style peripheral neuropathy after two years of zinc supplementation, and didn't find information about similar medical cases until very recently! I felt often a slight lift in feeling well when taking copper secabate, but the sensations seem to be intermittent. Am looking into the subject because I want to reverse the symptoms and come back to balance. :)

Yes, it could help hair retain or regain its natural colour. But not everybody gets gray because of copper deficiency, so it won't work for everyone.

Hiya! After watching your Videos on Cooper and really being able to relate, I ordered an ayurvedic Cooper bottle and also did some research myself. What I find really interesting is that Cooper is linked to the planet Venus and therefore feminity. It's such a mirror of society and where we're at spiritually I think.

I had backache since I started 50 mg zinc to increase estrogen levels .. it's been almost 4 days I am taking zinc and for past two days my back is aching .. after watching uoot video I drank chlorophyll and took 3 tabs of spirulina .. I immediately felt better , the backache seems to fade .. thank God .. What's your advice on taking zinc ? Should I take less or not at all ??

+Sam Cha I took liquid chlorophyll for a while, now I'm taking chelated copper. Both are great. If you eat beef liver and shellfish, you can probably get enough from food as well. A Facebook group called Magnesium Advocacy Group has tons of information about copper absorption. A document titled Steps to Increase Ceruloplasmin is all about improving copper levels naturally. xx

Hi all, looks like I could be copper deficient as have borderline low RBC, WBC and neutrophils. Iron is borderline low and ferritin is low. I have lowside blood pressure. I have histamine food intolerances and copper can help with DAO. My main symptom is severe weight loss despite eating well in last 4 years, down to 54kgs from 74kgs! Tried many practitioner protocols for Geotrichum candidum, methane sibo etc taken lots of vitamin C and some zinc, but no copper. Going to try Copper Bisglycinate should be a better form than citrate. Any experiences or advice would be greatly received, many thanks Kevin

0:33 high doses? how much daily? I was taking 12 mg daily for a month and stopped because my symptoms got worse, I also think I didnt have enough copper before starting zinc and depleted it more by taking zinc

Thank you for your video. I am interested in why you first thought you were copper toxic? Was it based on any tests you had done, such as blood (serum copper, ceruloplasmin) or a hair mineral analysis? My father has parkinsons disease and his hair mineral analysis has confirmed he has low copper, which explain his anemia, easy bruising and low energy. I have started him on 6 mg of copper as of today. But then again, I also see cases of genuine copper overload, where both blood and hair levels are very elevated and zinc is severely depressed. These people do feel better on higher doses of zinc and other nutrients. Before taking the zinc, most gravitate toward a vegetarian diet that is high in copper and low in zinc and their health is atrocious. Biochemical individuality is the key here. I don't agree with how you frame the argument as either copper toxicity or copper deficiency. Both things exist. You need to have the right tests and a skilled practitioner to interpret those tests. +pedro23rt I thought I was copper toxic because of being on the Pill for 10 years, also low zinc levels, and symptoms seemed to point me towards it, too. I think what exists is unavailable copper and copper deficiency, not copper toxicity per se. Unavailable copper is due to low Ceruloplasmin. Also when there is high copper in the blood, it's pointing to stress or illness in the body, not to copper toxicity. High amounts in the hair could simply mean that a person is getting normal amounts of copper from food but is unable to hold on to it and dumps it (maybe because of low Ceruloplasmin). It doesn't mean that cells have too much copper or even enough copper. For example, one study found high levels of copper in the blood of people with heart disease, but very low levels (much lower than healthy levels) in their heart tissue. Also, taking copper alone without any zinc normalised my zinc levels which tells me that science still doesn't understand sooooo much about copper and the copper/zinc relationship. Thank you for your reply. The basic idea is people need to get tested and cannot just guess based on symptoms. You assumed you were copper toxic, took huge amounts of zinc without any testing or guidance, induced a copper deficiency and from this experience conclude that copper toxicity or overload does not exist because copper reversed the deficiency your indiscriminate supplementation caused. This is circular reasoning. Copper overload is real and is in most cases the cause of anorexia nervosa and for people adopting a vegan diet. There is also evidence that copper overload is involved in postpartum depression. I have seen and treated people with copper excess and yes, you are correct, as copper excess becomes extreme, biounavailable copper becomes an issue, so paraodixically the person is loaded with copper but it is biounavailable. Jaundice in newborns in a sign of copper overload in the mother. I believe your message is valuable but would caution you not to assume universal copper deficiency and disregard the evidence, both published and from thousands of practitioners and their patients, for copper overload/toxicity. +pedro23rt Wrong conclusion, low copper is what caused my low zinc in the first place. Unfortunately, none of the tests for copper is reliable for now, which is the reason for copper toxicity being thrown around so much. I respect your opinion, and testing is always best when there is money and reliable tests available, but often that's not the case. Listening to our bodies and using intuition becomes the best way forward. What science thinks today will change tomorrow (it's happening all the time), but what you discover analysing yourself will never be taken away from you. All I want is for people to learn to think outside the box and not to take everything that studies, doctors, and media say for granted. Usually, if you start researching, you'll find that there is another side to every story, just like in the case of copper. But nobody talks about it. At least I tried to do my part. That's all I've got to say regarding this.

Zinc is a copper antagonist. I understand that when zinc is low, copper is usually high. I am jaundice and my serum copper is high relative to zinc. I am doing much research, and have learned that copper is abundant in what I thought was a healthy diet: nuts, seeds, avocado, salmon, chocolate ... Research has shown that too much copper is co-orelated to higher incidents of cancer as well as many other problems. Balancing zinc with copper is critical.

You're supposed to get your copper and zinc from food, not supplements. Plant foods like whole grains, beans, nuts, seeds, fruits and vegetables give you copper and zinc in the right balance with all the other vitamins and minerals. When you take supplements, you cause imbalances.

+VitaLivesFree Best idea is to get a blood test with details of all your levels of minerals and vitamins. Then you can make correctly informed decisions as to what supplements to take or whether you need more vegetables etc. Then get another test 6 months later to see if your changes are having the desired effect. Just taking a supplement because someone said it is good for you is a stab in the dark.

dj121 true. Plus supplements aren't regulated by the FDA. In 2013 ppl in Hawaii died from liver failure for taking supplements that were laced. There are all kinds of lawsuits involving supplements. Eating a well balanced diet is the way to go.

I'm curious the extent of your low back pain that you mentioned? I've been having low back pain for the last 6 months, but also supplementing a lot of zinc bc I've had symptoms of zinc deficiency (dry flaking skin, eye problems, warts, poor night vision, etc). None of the symptoms have gotten better and the back pain came out of nowhere. Pain all along my iliac crest. Also experiencing tingling/numbness/pain in my feet. Any insight you could provide would be helpful! I'm hopeful that copper could be the answer. Thanks for this great video! :)

It was a while ago, I don't even remember it so clearly anymore. But I think it was pain involving the entire lower back. Like a deep muscle pain, and it would hurt more when moving, like getting out the car, etc. And it would hurt much more after sitting after a while. Hope copper is what you're missing! 💖

I heard that you need to supplement with zinc and copper hours apart for a short amount of time because synthetic supplements are not good for long periods of time synthetic supplements cause your body to pull calcium from your bones causing problems like your arteries to hardened joint pain and many more... I did more researched and found that you should get your vitamins and minerals from a balanced diet..... you definitely can supplement but definitely need to check the quality of those supplements also I learned to supplement with herbs...so basically I learned that we have mineral deficiencies and to focus on minerals because vitamins need minerals to absorb in the body..... so basically there needs to be balance... focus on the minerals use supplements that your body will absorb (check the quality of all supplements) also look into supplementing with herbs eat a balanced diet with a variety of healthy foods.... I don’t know if this will work for you just giving some info based on my research... I’m looking to heal my body as well so I’m researching like crazy

@@MCE851 yes! There is a flaw in my experimentation however. I started a potassium supplement shortly after, so I don’t want to be dishonest. It could be just the copper that has sorted everything out for me, or both. I did see dramatic improvements before introducing the potassium… so that’s worth something.

+eileenfb1948 True, but it's unclear how much actually gets leached into the water. I've read that a layer forms on the pipes that prevents copper from leaving significant amounts. Who knows, but perhaps the extra copper was the reason why I felt better in the UK. xx

An easy cheap way to get natural copper into your body is to use unlined copper cooking saucepans. Minuscule amounts will be absorbed into your food. Be careful though to to use when cooking acidic foodstuffs though. It will clean the pan, unbelievably!
