Tami was the perfect choice for her role. Described as a "childlike" princess, she really did look a bit like and adult in a little girl's body because of her intelligent facial expressions that you might not expect from such a young person (bemused expression when listening to Atrayu tell her mistakenly that he had not found a human child, and looking like a little school teacher while explaining the "facts" regarding the "human child" Bastion's role in bringing Atrayu to her). She really had great acting chops besides being incredibly cute (with a really great makeup job, as well- I think the makeup artist doesn't get enough credit, typically). I hope she's found true happiness in her dancing career.

It's because there is no obvious pronunciation of "Fuchur" in English. And one possible pronunciation is the naughty word "fucker". "Falcor" is obvious, like the bird, but ends in -or, which is a common ending for character names in English language (like Skeletor), along with -ar. Also "u" is the least common vowel in English, and when it does appear, it's very frequently part of a two-vowel sequence, usually "au" or "ou".

hmmmmm. There is an interesting story line and a lot of interesting characters in the never ending story. There are some great characters in Harry Potter and some that I would really enjoy seeing more of their life or reading about it. Madeye Moody would be fun to watch some movies about his life story chasing dark wizards. Snapes story as it unfolded as him being a triple agent along with the motivations of Voldemort to hate muggles and half bloods were very WWII and post WWII cold war style spie/ war like. By itself as a single movie the Never Ending Story is great but Harry Potter is going to end up like the Star Wars Universe with some of its best works and lore yet to be written yet. It will continue to grow for decades to come well the Never Ending Story was pretty much 1 and done.

If they were to remake it, it would look nothing like the movie. Leonardo Di Caprio's company, Appian Way, was part of a group trying to remake this movie to look more like the original novel. The author hated this movie so much, he demanded his name be removed from the credits. The movie is much darker and is only halfway finished where the movie ends. Sadly (or thankfully, depending on how you see it), securing the rights to the story may keep this from ever being remade.

My son watched the film out of the vhs tape on this movie. Nostalgia made me watch it the other night.

The empress looks similar still, while all the guys look nothing like their younger selves. Ageing sucks.

It's not so much aging, but they've just become completely different people.

Got scared of thinking about the "Neverending" part after all the crap he'd been through already, and said "Screw it! Peace out!" and ended his part of the Neverending... He died drowning in a nothingness swamp.

He sunk without trace until he fought The Nothing and came back. He is currently being trained up for the 2018 Epsom Derby.

It's crazy how the dead knight scene freaked us all out as kids yet kids today watch some of the most gruesome shit. And I still cry through the Artex scene and get goosebumps the rest of the movie!

Alan Oppenheimer was also in the Six Million Dollar man in the 1970's, playing Dr Rudy Wells. The role was also given to Martin Balsam.

The second was crap and the rest were not even related to the book at all. At least the second film tried to use the second chapter of the fantastic novel, but screwed it all up by just taking selected segments and jumbling them all up instead of following a consistent flow. Plus the whole added diving fear business was totally unneeded.

The Never Ending Story is a feel good movie for me. Its timeless and sure hope hollywood WONT make a remake as the orignal is pure gold.

I have all three of the "Never Ending Story" movies, but the first one is still my fave. I just love Falcor and it would be a total blast to ride with him.

I'd hoped you'd include the later movies too, there harder to find but someone said Jack Black was in one. As a kid seeing it he didn't stand out, not something you could say about his later movies. Still fun to see him change.

I think I was 5 when this movie came out and about 8 when I saw it. I remember thinking Tami Stronach's character was so beautiful. One of my first childhood crushes. Which also included Soliel Moon Frye and Alyssa Milano. Now she's 47 and I'm 41 and she is still smoking gorgeous!
