While we're locked down I'm going to make a bunch of freediving tutorials! I was chatting with my Patrons on Patreon about different videos I could make and 2 things kept coming up. ADAM I love your videos, and I want to improve my performance underwater. Well, something I wish I 'd have known at the begining it was that the deeper you go down, the mask needs to be refilled with little bit of air, so it wont suck out your eyes!! In my case I went down 8 meters without compensate my mask and I ended with lots of petequias, or little blood dots all over my eyes and inside them!! Luckly in a week they vanished by themselves, no need to do anything. Now you guys know. 🤦🏻‍♂️😆 #diveincuba #havanaspearfishing

As someone amazed with freediving I like the advice to focus inwardly rather than what's going on outwardly... As a spearo (polespear) first however, I worry about that advice being someone's excuse for accidentally shooting someone with their spear 😂

Thanks so much for the video! I am wanting to learn free diving, Just got a set of fins and a mask/snorkel. What are your thoughts about free diving in cold water without a wetsuit? I live in Tassie so water is obviously cold although I don’t mind a bit of cold water immersion. I have heard that cold water can reduce your breath hold?

Cold water will definitely reduce your breath hold so as long as you're fine with that then jump in without a wetsuit :) but if you want to have longer dives and be warmed then just grab an 'open cell' wetsuit :)
