When you are put on hold and you hear hold music, we cannot hear you. If we ask you to hold and it goes silent, then likely we have just muted the phone lol

As someone who has worked in a call center, when you’re on hold and hear music, we hear that too. We cannot hear you unless you’re “muted” but the recordings are for training. We listened to a bunch on what to say and what not to say lol

Yeah carly is right, Hair salons make you sign a contract that doesn’t let you take clients or work at salon within a certain amount of miles bc it’s considered close contest. my gf works at a nice salon and she can’t leave to work anywhere nearby but if it’s far enough away then they are allowed to be more vocal about it. But it’s like a secret society you’d be surprised!

Bad news for mike - I worked at the tj maxx/marshalls hq and they do make most of the stuff in the store for outlet. Obviously there are exceptions but most of the clothes, shoes, and home stuff is crap made for outlet. You get a surprise once in a little while

As someone who works at a bank call center, it depends on the phone system the company is using, like for me I can either mute or put them on hold and when I put them on hold I can not hear them. Just thought I’d share!

As someone that worked at Nordstrom, if they can find something you purchased in the system within 2 years you can return it…even if it’s like been ran over by a car or something…it was left up to our discretion but yeah it was super lenient.

So random i hope you guys see this but I work for a business that was on sharktank and some teaaaa about the show is that even if they make a deal on the show, off camera once it comes down to making it official with signing papers and stuff the shark or the owner can back out of it. In the business that i work for, the owner (my boss) got a deal on the show, and when it came down time to make it official he was told by the shark's top #1 lawyer like 'dont sign with them, they're gonna ruin your business'. I would imagine this happens to alot of the businesses so half of the deals on the show probably aren't ever legit.

I literally saw a Judge Judy episode on what Carly was saying how they aren’t allowed to tell u when you’re leaving. And yeah they can sue you if u do lol. It’s all in their contract when they work there. And some places don’t even let u get a new job within certain miles of their old salon.

as a hair stylist, to add on to Matt's clipper guard question in the beginning. Most stylists or barbers are okay if you don't know the exact number of the guard to ask for. I find if a client comes in with a brief description of the length(i.e. i like the side short, but not too short to see my scalp through my hair) it's enough of a start for us to fill in the blanks and do our job.

I used to work for an iTan and Luxury tanning products are NOTORIOUS for deceptive packaging. They put in 6 grams of product into a GIANT heavy bottle that is opaque so you can’t tell you’re going to run out after 6 pumps and you spent $98

When the hold music is on, they cannot hear you - it IS being recorded so the company can hear you if they go back, but the CSR cannot hear you if you hear music.

I work for a call center for a big bank and when I put someone on hold I can’t hear anything on the other side. So if your hearing music it’s likely no one’s listening on the other end but if it’s just silent that means they just muted there mic.

Not in the US they can't. Eggs in the US have the outer layer washed away to sterilize them and are only safe on the counter for about 2 hours. For most of the rest of the world however, yes they can be safely left on the counter.

Companies pull calls for a variety of reasons - the marketing dept of my company will pull calls where the customers bought a certain product to hear what questions the customer had or what problem they encountered. There’s tons of good info on calls - but yeah training, monitoring for quality, and verifying that the customer was or was not told something are the main reasons.
