I also use binders for stamps. Being a control freak, I was always concerned about the stamps flipping out of the pockets. I found an inexpensive solution at the dollar store: document holders. They're gusseted, have a zipper thong along the RHS & have 3 ring binder holes on the LHS. They work really well. TFS, always enjoy your videos.

Lindsay this is a wonderful video! I have a tiny suggestion for your pallets. Press and seal can peel away if it is bumping into things in a purse or isn't adhered well. I would suggest that and painters tape. Basically a loop around the long side and a loop around the short side. Thank you for your wonderful tips on how to prepare! I hope you LOVE every moment of your classes!

I love my Creative Options storage systems!! I have one like the one Lindsay had behind her, but in pink and it has 4 drawers and 2 more that are more like tackle boxes. I had to give up my craft space when we moved so I like that I can just quickly grab them and move them where ever is handy and comfortable to work at the moment

You look so pretty tonight! Great video and I will be sure to share this for you! I like the container too! Looks like your class will have lots of fun! If I lived up close to you I would love to take your class! I love to follow along with you when you paint. I have been trying to get more back into painting since it has been so many years for me. Have not painted since I was in HS so I am way out of practice. But I love it! So relaxing! Lately I have been doing the Mixed Media. All new to me and way out of my comfort zone but I have been loving it! Has been very relaxing for me! Just to let go and not to think so much! I am such a perfectionist so the mixed media is a good way to get me out of that! Hugs and God bless!

This is so helpful! I've been asked to teach a woman's art class for my church and while I'm still learning techniques and I'm nowhere near perfect, they seemed to like my art and wanted to know how to do it. I've been worried and trying to figure out how to go about the supplies

I hope so! I'm the one who is always asking you all the questions about the best materials for watercolor. You have been such a tremendous help! I've actually ordered a pack of Arches paper and 4 main colors in the Van Gogh brand. I can't wait! Found them pretty cheap on Amazon. Thank you for all you do! You're amazing! I wish I could send pictures of some of the things I've done so far with my student grade materials.

Thank you for this video, I am trying to think of all the things I need for a little take along kit for my little one and me, this gave me some great ideas. Maybe also a staz-on ink pad and re-inker (you might have said that), black sharpie, maybe a stamp that says "hand made by ......" , and maybe fragrance free cheap baby wipes for cleaning off stamps and kitchen paper towel for spills/more cleaning :)

when I teach a watercolor journaling class we use a small Yarka Student palette and a waterbrush, I had a friend save me some of the little square white dishes that Little Ceaser's dog food comes in, then I put a small square of sponge in them so they can clean off their waterbrushes on that. Then they have a small journal and it all fits in a small makeup type bag, or a quart ziploc bag. I also use one of the new silver barrel Sharpie pens because they don't bleed. Have a good time at your workshop.

You might want to bring a big package of paper napkins or several rolls of paper towels for people to dry their brushes and wipe their hands. I have been to many rubber stamp classes and the most frustrating part was waiting to use the rubber stamps. The classes were much smaller than yours will be so you might want to have different things to do while students are waiting to use the stamps. (You said the Lost Coast Designs is providing more stamps, so that might depend on how many stamps you will have on hand.) If LCD doesn't provide a stamp for each student you might have a drawing for door prizes and the prize is the stamps the class used. I bought the city-scape stamp and I had a little trouble getting a good impression the first few times. It is such a large stamp and I had lots of light impression areas--you might want to bring a few small pieces of sandpaper to rough the new stamps up a little (or maybe you have a better idea for that.) Some classes I've been to have "stations" so the class members can move between them and not everyone is doing the same thing at once. They had signs taped to the wall with instructions for that station. I can imagine people having trouble choosing a paper background, you might need a sign that says "Take only ONE!". Or you could divide the room into tables or rows and have them rotate through the steps. "Table one will choose their background papers, Table 2 with color their stamps, etc." It's kind of hard because they need to choose their paper first to get the colors so they can choose their embellishments. But having stations might prevent the supplies from getting lost or stuck in one spot. We had only six or eight people in a class and we were a mess of things getting passed back and forth and across the tables. The teacher had made a place for each student before class. There would be a paper place mat (a sheet of pretty colored printing/copy paper--pink comes to mind) with the paper supplies (cut to size) stacked on it, list of instructions (or a poster on the wall with list of instructions), then the stations around the room (embellishments, sometimes a heat tool and embossing powder, etc.) I have also helped with craft groups at women'a retreats where there were about 30 participants. One time we made raffia angel dolls--one lady wanted the same lace collar that her friend had so I gave her the lace from mine so they would match. You probably are more experienced at groups than I am, but I can just see one person wanting the same background paper as someone else and there not being any more. I'd pass the papers out before hand and tell them to use what they get since it is a "learning experience" and they can make one at home later if they want to buy the stamps--but that is just me. If you do it ahead of time you can put matching color embellishments at each spot too. Or do it at home and put each set in a gallon size zip lock; or better yet put the embellishments in a cheap envelope. Choosing a color/pattern selection takes forever and 25(?) women all doing it sounds like a nightmare. Good luck and hope you have a terrific time.
@path67419 жыл бұрын
Pat Hathaway PS--you might want to have a couple of each card done in different colors. If the students are like us Frugal Crafter fans they will all want the same color you used. If you have a couple samples of the same card done in different colors it will be psychologically easier for them to use "different" colors too. I always want to do everything exactly as you do it. LOL
@thefrugalcrafter9 жыл бұрын
Pat Hathaway I pre-stamped all of the stamps for the watercolor techniques class and there will be one stamp per person for the other class and they will switch stations because there will be 6 stamps each of 4 designs:) This ain't my first rodeo (I even have assistants fpr these large classes:) Thanks for the tips though!
@path67419 жыл бұрын
thefrugalcrafter Lindsay Weirich I'm glad you have to been to the rodeo before. LOL Sound's like you are ready. Have a good time. I wish I lived close enough to come, but I'm sure those that make it will have a terrific time.

How old to you recommend someone be in order to teach a class during the summer or in the evening?
@thefrugalcrafter9 жыл бұрын
CassidyGArt It epends on the person and the age you are teaching, I'd say if you are old enough to babysit you can teach children but I would make sure their parents are also in attendance.
