Hi Betty:) Ive been on a wonderful art journey this year...more like a homecoming of sorts.I was once a lover of art and a successful touring musician and I went through some things and ended up homeless and addicted to drugs...anyhow, Ive been sober five years now and Ive never been happier and Im enthused to be making art again, especially while healthy! I adore your art and listening to your voice is very soothing...thank you so much for your generosity and for all the love you put out. Its truly one of a kind! ❤❤❤❤ Sam

I said to a friend the other day , I want to steamroll a painting the way Betty does. She said what are you taking about [she thought I meant some kind of painting machine 😮, no, I said Ms. franks just keeps going like the energizer bunny untill her surface has a thousand layers , looks as deep and exciting as a jungle and she gets to where she is at peace with the whole. That’s my new year’s resolution for 2025🎉. Thanks Betty.

Hi Betty, I just painted over a fail, that I almost kept alive, but I had to dig deep to bring myself to paint over it and by golly, it turned out to be one of my all time favorite paintings I've ever done (my opinion, anyway). I lost some of the organic looseness that you do so well, but I haven't mastered that yet. I'm just so happy I took the plunge and created something so beautiful I would never have brought to life had I not trusted my instincts. Love art for that, creating something beautiful out of the clear blue sky! I never really appreciated abstract until I fell in love with your work. Love your art so much!!! 😍

Hi Betty. I use Nova and Liquitex colors only bc when I need only a couple of colors and a who lot it’s cheaper to buy one or 2 Liquitex tubes as opposed to paying the shipping for the Nova paints. Michael’s or Hobby Lobby are accessible to me. But if Nova’s shipping wasn’t an issue I’d use all Nova paints. I do love the high pigment load of Nova.

You should see, when its time to stop. There are so many chances to stop, to finish. It doesent fail, but you didnt stop. ❤ ❤ ❤ i like to see it growing ❤ danke !

I totally agree....there are many times I could have stopped. I stopped when I was happy with the artwork. It's going to be different for every artist. Thanks so much for watching!

Thank you very much Betty, I really enjoyed watching you paint. I also very much appreciate the didactic spirit commenting on the process of the work. I put the canvas on an easel and I would like to put the canvas on the wall. Could you tell me how you hang it to work on the wall. Thank you very much for your dedication, I greatly admire your work. Kind regards, Ana

Thank you for your kind words, Ana! I have long (about 3") screws in the studs that stick out about a half inch. Then I just hang my canvas on them. I hope that works out well for you, too!

Interesting! So what made you want to paint big and why did you keep going? ❤
@BettyFranksArt2 ай бұрын
As much as I love working on small art, I also love the challenge of creating large pieces. I kept going on this one (and all my others) because I wasn't happy with it. I don't stop until I'm happy!

Thank you so much! It's years of practice that makes it look easy. It was anything but easy in the beginning...and even now with some paintings!
