I recall seeing an iPad specific interface card on a Japanese site a few years back when I was considering sticking the screen from an old iPad 4 into a Mac Classic shell. Never got around to buying it though as managed to revive the iPad 4 via a Windows laptop, whereas it was having none of it hooked up to my MacBook Pro!
