Kinda crazy to have a trial where the defendant is guilty, prima facie. But will get acquitted because senators are not real a jury. A jury must decide based on the evidence, not political persuasion

@tom tuker I see you are back again like always. Your statement makes no sense in context. I see what you are trying to imply, it is just done very poorly. Who is the judge? Who is the jury? Are you saying it just Democrats who are both? If that was true this entire video is pointless as we would clearly just convict and move on. Also evidence has been heard by the entire population for weeks now. For a true jury you would try to find impartial person(s). In this case the building they are conducting the trial in was literally attacked as part of the accused defendant's actions. I understand you will be here every video at this point. Please put a little more effort in to at least become interesting to read.

@Observer this also needs to be a campaign point to get Republicans out of state office: in short, they cannot be trusted, especially as they are appearing to want to censure or primary the Mitt Romney/Liz Cheney steadfast-to-rule-of-law members of the party. It’s serious.

Please Note: To vote by mail in Georgia today, already, one must submit one's Driver's License # to request a mail-in ballot. I know this from personal experience. I twice requested mail-in ballots (one for the General Election and, later, one for the Senate runoffs). Both times I was required to provide my Georgia Driver's License # as part of the online application process for a mail-in ballot. ... and this is in addition to the signature check that was mentioned. That the proposed legislation would require me to send a .jpg of my Driver's License instead of simply typing in the number seems goofy. (Obviously it is an added hassle designed to deter people from making such requests. I'm not convinced it'll actually hurt Dem voters more than GOP voters, though)

I do want to add to Perry's comment that "Every Black Person is not a Liberal.". If you look into this it is actually even more true than you think at first glance. Usually on pure conservative/liberal ideology there is a vary large portion of Black Conservatives who still vote Democrat. If the Republican party wasn't seen as generally racist both in tone and policy, they would be an even stronger force electorally. Granted you can't ask a Zebra to change its stripes. At this point I'm not sure the two different are even different at any meaningful degree. Maybe if they stopped being the party of Xenophobia they'd lose some of that vote back to the Democratic party for other issues such as Social Security or Minimum Wage laws.

If you wish to vote, you must first register by filling out the correct form, which may be requested by calling this toll-free number at least six months prior to the election. Once you receive the form by mail, you must fill it out and sign it before a notary public and then send two mimeographed copies, together with three forms of approved identification, by carrier pigeon to both your state and local seats of government. . .

Can the conviction vote be a secret ballot?
@tanmaygupta55044 жыл бұрын
Theoretically it could but senate rules state that as long as 20% of senators want the vote to be public, then the vote must be public. I think there are more than 20 gop senators who want to publicly state their support for Trump. I also think there are more than 20 dem senators who want the gop to publicly state their support for trump so that way the possibility of the democrats gaining senate seats in 2022, which were already pretty high to begin with, increases
@tanmaygupta55044 жыл бұрын
Also a public vote exposes the gop divide. trump is the most popular politician amongst the gop base but liz Cheney is the most popular republican amongst the population as a whole. If the spotlight continues to be on the gop divide, it gives more cover to biden and the dems for doing partisan things or moving toward the left
@HappyNBoy4 жыл бұрын
@@tanmaygupta5504 good points. Also useful to know that it only takes 20% to make it a public vote. I ask because I wonder if they could get 17 GOP votes under a secret ballot? Because as it stands I doubt they'll even get 5.

@@HappyNBoy I mean the consensus is that if it was secret than there would be like 75-80 votes to convict. This was also true about his first trial. But it is highly unlikely that either party will let the vote be secret.

It could turn out that Republicans will insist on electing people that will vote along party lines on future January 6th EC certification votes. I live in a poor low cost of living State, $10 an hour living wage, vs $15 an hour living wage in Los Angeles, I don't really care if they raise it but it will be extremely difficult for a lot of small businesses because many more people will want to paid $5 more per hour. Maybe the federal government should subsidize the pay raise. My State is so Red, if trump had called off the election and outlawed the Democratic party, most people in my State would support that, because blacks vote for Democrats. Lindsey expressed the Republican mind, when we win it is because voters liked our ideas, if we lose it is because democrats cheated.

my expectations are about the same low leve;l as i have for everything that touches trump... republicans, even if they didnt approve of the insurrection, have already largely forgotten the events that led to it and so have the public... thats the problem with insta-text society, long term memory loss... the same gopers who let him off the first time will let him off another time and another and another until the end of days... those are my expectations
