Seriously on this subject, who here started prepping without any encouragement from anyone. Maybe it was an old relative that went through the depression, or an acquaintance that became a good friend. Didn't we all have someone that said you should have more than a few days worth of food in the house, or looked at you like you had three heads when you asked to borrow something common that he thought everyone already had. After this town had the tipple hits in 2020; Covid , part of the town under a boil order and a derecho windstorm that dropped trees, damaged houses and cars and shut off electricity for days; I found it a bit easier to convince people to do a few simple preps, at least two weeks worth of food in the house, a few more generators, a few more gardens, many gallons of water stored. You have to use mild disasters, short outages and things to get people to see that we are not "crazy doomsday preppers", just ordinary people with some stuff for the emergencies that come along every couple years. Also, that buying in bulk and on sale and using it first in first out actually saves money on groceries, detergents and such. Granted, most have no idea that we have 6-30 months worth of supplies depending on what you look at. But they see our garden, some have gotten some produce or baked goods from the garden. Some have been to the range with us. One has used our generator. We trade for eggs. We've been offered a goat, but my wife said no for now. There' are a few that have an idea of the depths of our pantry. Our friend with the goat who has been in the house doing some carpentry, and one who just GAVE us 6-9 BUSHELS of APPLES. (Matt 25:29 For to everyone who has will more be given, and he will have an abundance. But from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away.) Hard cider that is started will be turned to vinegar, some cider has been canned, canned apples, apple pie filling, both canned, dehydrated apple slices, apple jelly, and apple butter all coming. I want to encourage you, next power outage, keep a neighbor from losing frozen food, a few hours a day run the generator and plug in the refrigerator and or freezer. Siphon gas from their vehicle to do it. Offer to take them to Harbor Freight or Home Depot to pick out a a generator after the crisis. Lend an oil lamp to someone, show them how to use it safely. Take a neighbor to the shooting range. It doesn't have to be the first topic of discussion, but sooner or later it should come up in conversation. It is up to us to educate, be a light, not hide under a basket.

How to recognize propaganda: 1) When given a problem, fear rather than reason is used to present the solution. 2) When you're pressured into accepting the solution. 3) When you're not allowed to question the solution. 4) When the solution involves surrendering your freedoms. 5) When your eyes see one thing, but you are compelled to believe a different thing. 6) When the solution means giving small groups of people control over larger and larger things. 7) When dissenters are censored for refusing to accept the solution. 8) When dissenters are targeted by accusations from different sources, suddenly and all at once.

It's astonishing at the Americans, so called Christians that's still waiting on their imaginary blessing when anyone who tried could go back and look up everything bad that's happened to America especially since 1948 when America really started going down hill, being destroyed from within ever since the American funding of a zionist created nation state started happening. @greedpure97772 ай бұрын
Where I live personally it is very mountainous. That means transportation costs more. I remember driving by a truck that was going down hill that was pulled over because their brakes caught on fire, or broke. It also takes more gas to go up and down hill. Thus higher prices. What we produce in town things like paper bullets and certain crops are cheaper here than they would be elsewhere. Infrastructure will greatly affect price, and as remote as where I am the price of shopping easily reaches $100 for a week of food. Maybe more I personally have a good thing set up but I remember shopping with my mom and the price reached near 200 dollars. She is admittedly pretty bad with money. I do have some good advantages living where I do though.

Join me in supporting a "clean the house" movement to replace those who are currently in office in both the US Senate and House with just a very few exceptions. Let's support those who will insist on laying off most bureaucrats. The only thing they do is justify their jobs by writing more and more unnecessary regulations! We are drowning in paperwork and debt...

This makes me so nervous. My hubby has cancer and I'm trying to get us prepared for at least the next 6 months. I live in a not so great neighborhood. I want a solar generator so bad, but dont thinknill be able to swing it. We have a gas generator, but its hard for me to deal with.

Check out cancer therapies, such as Gerson therapy, wheat grass powder, apricot seeds (vitamin B-17), Essiac tea, moringa, matcha, fenbendazole and ivermectin.

I've been tracking prices on solar options for long awhile now. They are actually getting much more affordable for bigger capacity systems. My best advice is to track the numbers on an Amz wishlist. They do fluctuate wildly depending on the time of year. Towards Thxgiving and Xmas seem to be the very best to jump on a buy.

Wish I could find a partner to do all this with. It's hard trying to do it alone, like what to stock up on, how to prepare in general. Hard to bounce ideas and thoughts off of myself. What's my next plan of action...etc.

Blessings, Kris. People don’t have enough ‘popcorn’ put back for what is coming, even if they are prepared enough to ride out some stuff and watch from afar. Stay well.

I'm sorry to say it's coming here. And Qs popcorn will not help you .

Thanks for the popcorn idea, it's sure is a comforting and easy to make treat. Hard times will still need comforting.

Water is the only limiting factor in my family's ability to remain indoors for several weeks, even grid down. There is a natural water source nearby, and we have the ability to filter and purify the water, but there's no other way to get the water to our home without going outside.

Every presidential election I have always taken the following day off work. This year I put in for the rest of that week off.

Can you make a video on how to save all our freezer food and how to prevent it from going to waste in case of a power outage?
@danamarie87182 ай бұрын
Organize your freezer so you can get things out as quickly as possible. I have a chest freezer. I have a list of what’s in there. I keep foods in color coded mesh bags. I can grab the yellow bag and know it’s chicken, the red for beef, purple for pork, etc. With a list and easy grab system you can use the most valuable items first and spend less time with the freezer door open. Chest freezers stay cold longer than front load. Full freezers stay cold longer than empty freezers. Fill empty spots with frozen water containers. The larger the container the better (think ice blocks). Leave room in the container for expansion. If you don’t already know how, learn to can. Especially pressure canning. A battery bank or generator will keep a freezer running longer than you think because it cycles on and off.

@wmluna3812 ай бұрын
You can can and preserve food for them when/if the trucks stop running. There are pet recipe vids here on YT for dogs and cats.
