Thank you for the informative and helpful video. When exactly did you deploy after you first got notice of the deployment (i.e. how many weeks’ or months’ notice before you deployed?)?

If I recall correctly we knew almost 10 or so months ahead of time. In the Guard we needed plenty of time to make notifications, complete all the military requirements (paperwork, medical, etc), and then train for several months (pre-mobilization training) before actually deploying.

Hi Ii hope u notice this message I have a concern, is the army that deployed in Africa doesn't have access in their bank account? And what are the procedure to ask a vacation leave? Is it true that once the leave application was approved the family of the army who requested for leave vacation was the one who will shoulder first the airfare ticket but he can refund it before he leave for vacation?

Hey man I really appreciate your videos because I just got informed by Virginia Army National Guard that I'm getting deployed to the Djibouti, Africa and I'm being attached to a Infantry unit. My deployment training starts November 1st, 2021 and it ends in December 31st, 2021and most likely I'll be overseas from January till December 2022 so a 12-month deployment I'm still figuring out what necessary steps I need to take prior to leaving sense this is my 1st deployment.

That’s going to be completely dependent upon where you go. Fortunately for us the bases we were had pretty consistent WiFi connection. I was able to call home almost daily. I imagine this is the situation with most bases now as infrastructure has had plenty of time to build up.

Depends on the mission, but it could be anything from basic security forces to direct combat.
