Thank you for this very comprehensive video. I’m set to pick up my Tesla rental in a few hours and am super nervous, having never driven a Tesla before. Having watched (and saved) this video, I feel more prepared.

I rented a tesla from Hertz a few weeks ago. This video was very helpful. Hertz humorously provided no information about the car. When I picked it up the attendant told me I needed to bring it back with 100% charge. I explained that was impossible, and probably not true. He said oh it's 70%.
@farodopi51707 ай бұрын
damn 100% 😂 that’s indeed impossible on an EV unless you are charging on the parking of the rental agency itself. Not to mention having to wait until it completes 100% which would take 1 hour or so 😂. Good luck with that. Thanks got you managed to reason him. I heard it’s 70% or 10% depending on if you take the option FPO. Actually even 70% could be problematic depending where you are and would mean you need to take an extra 20min to make sure you arrive with 70% at the agency. I think at this stage 10% is the way to go for EV. They can charge it when you return them very easily unlike a gas car. And it would save you a lot of hassle

@@farodopi5170 The Hertz facility I rented from had no chargers. At least none in the pick up your car area, and none anywhere I saw. I expected to find my car plugged in charging.

Love it! This video should be mandatory for first time renters. I found all this stuff out by trial and experimenting. Supercharging was fast and easy. The car handles incredible. Kids love fart mode! My daughter loves the piano app. Kids love the car.

Future video suggestion - difference between renting a Model 3/Y and owning one. Once you rent a Tesla you will want to buy one! I want to know the differences. How does the phone app function when you own? What are other differences?

thanks i’m renting a Tesla (or similar so i hope it won’t be a tesla) in a month and needed some basics info since nothing can be done normally nor easily in this car. Not a big fan of the ergonomics but it is what it is. light grey font and light grey icon on white screen (who gave green light for this). super small font and icon. Menu, sub menus and sub sub sub menus everywhere and for everything including security features. I’m not sure the guys really realised that normal people (not geeks) could possibly come up to a situation where they have no other choice than rent a Tesla if they pick and EV for rental and nothing else is available? having to go through dozens of youtube videos just to understand how the thing works is just mental. Thanks man you saved me with this video

I am a 55 year old IT TEch and I have never had to watch a video to know how to drive a car, how it works etc. Not sure this is the car of the future. Maybe this is why they did not work out for Hertz ? So I am just curious what do you do when the RFID\Bluetooth Key Card does not work ? Does anyone else just not see how an every day key card world work better.

So you cannot use a ChargePoint DC Fast Charger with tge adapter and a ChargePoint account?
@bradleyrex29687 ай бұрын
You can charge the car any way you want. But if you go to a Telsa super charger, the car just charges and Hertz just adds the cost to your bill with no upcharge. Mine even had the 220/110v charger in it so i could charge anywhere i could plug in.

if nobody would tell you, you could never imagine that instead of just putting the card on the charging spot, the card needs to be put between the cup holders and the arm rest.

Not only will the car not lock if you leave the card, but it can also be driven away. Because the card IS the key.

What you need to know: the creaks and rattles come standard. Autopilot will brake for no reason, this is normal for a Tesla. In the event that the car bricks for no reason and leaves you stranded, this is 100% totally a typical Tesla quality. Don't rent this garbage.
