What I don’t understand is how supposedly there’s millions of Cyber jobs out there, but these schools aren’t being honest on how actually difficult it is to find an entry level job in Cybersecurity for students fresh out of school. Graduating from a Bootcamp or getting a degree in Cybersecurity I feel is not enough to get an entry level job in this field just because the competition is so fierce. What makes the biggest difference is acquiring certs and getting as many as you can under your belt in a short amount of time which can be stressful and very time consuming, but that’s what makes the difference IMO in standing out from others. Learning as much as you can from the Blue and Red team side including the tools truly does matter to recruiters and hiring managers I believe.

This is a good summary of skills to learn before getting into the field. Cybersecurity is at the intersection of various disciplines of technology, including hardware, software, networking, and policy. I'd like to reinforce that coding experience is essential for a cybersecurity professional. Even CPU internals and hardware circuits use digital logic, and networking protocols are written in low level code. Understanding how to write code, particularly at a low level, is extremely beneficial regardless of whatever specific cybersecurity discipline you end up working in.
