Fifteen years later, it looks almost as good and runs just as good as the day I saw it for the first time. It's received Ford maintenance by the book ever since, no exceptions. Runs stock with no mods. I've driven it fast, but never when it was stupid to do so. I've never crashed it or damaged it. You'd be surprised by how good the original leather seats still look. It's gone through 3 tire sets, a handful of faulty recalled alternators, replacements for a couple of worn out air conditioning parts, and the computer may now be on its last legs since it's recently started to throw fake check engine alerts (Ford service shop verified this). Other than that, it's still a reliable daily driver, and I have no plans of ever getting rid of it.

I always love seeing these high mileage fords. I have a 2009 ranger 2.3 with 317k on it and it runs like a brand new one! Standard 5k oil changes and any other repairs needed, no problems. I also have a 2008 F250 super duty with 276k miles on the stock 5.4 3v triton. It was a former construction truck for the heavy contractors. Original engine and trans, no engine noises out of the ordinary. Its actually over 276k because the former owner cut the abs module out of the harness and stopped it from reading mileage, and that was over 6 months ago. Ive put maybe 1000 miles on it since and theres no telling how many it had after he cut the harness.

I'm not sure if hes telling the truth about the truck. Which I'm definitely skeptical. But if he is then he may ride on better road surfaces then most. I know in Maryland between the drastic temperature changes and the salty and bumpy roads I cant get more then 40k out if a set of tires.

I have a 12 with 150k no issues at all. Actually 1 issue, cold side charge pipe, but I upgraded to an aftermarket forged aluminum one and have had no more issues.. I also drive a 18 wheeler, 2016 freightliner with a Cummins 15 ltr ISX. From day one, fuel filters every 10k miles and oil changes every 20k miles. The more you change fuel filters it will help your fuel mileage. Knocking on 1 million miles, fuel pump ( a recall ), and a clutch has been the only bigger repairs the semi has had ( not counting brakes, wheel seals, etc ). I use archoil fuel and oil treatment in the f350 and standyne fuel treatment and Lucas oil treatment in the semi/ APU. Regular services and great filters is a must...... Thx for your videos. Im putting in the DEF heater this weekend. Just changed my first set of rear tires and brakes on the f350. Tires still had life in them, but they're old enough and I wanted bigger all terrains. I personally change steer tires way more frequently than most people because I have seen many accidents ( deaths ) involving heavy duty trucks from a steer tire problem. On the semi, every year or 150k they're changed. Dually not so extreme but more frequently then the rear. Keep them for spare run-outs.

Change the spin on Allison filter every second oil change as well. Original transmission and turbo (wastegated seem to be more reliable than vvt) never been touched. This is a tribute to an owner operator commercial driver who owns his own vehicle and takes care of his business. Maintenance is everything. Recently got out of the business myself change careers with my last truck I sold it at 1,288,000 on it very little copper showing up at oil samples indicating the engine capable of 1.5 million or more if I continue driving it. A Volvo VnL4 30 with CummingsISX 500. Replace two turbo chargers during that time the sliding nozzle on the exhaust What hang up between 500,000 and 600,000 miles. I averaged 14,000 miles per 1/32 of tread depth on drive tires. These tires are 1100 or 22 .5 steer tires would usually cup out 110,000 to 125,000 miles. Also on the engine I had increased oil capacity by being a filter freak Gulf Coast Filter and then followed by three Cummings 777’s working and parallel oil changes for Gulf Coast Filters at 10,000 miles and replenish with 3 gallons of oil filter only fills with 2.5 gallons oil consumption was averaging a half a gallon per 10,000 very consistent on the oil consumption. Use tighten oil and Denver for oil analysis they were very good they did tell me what engine bearing was failing on older on my previous trucks. I averaged 150,000 miles per year running between California and Denver and up to Seattle primarily. And I’m sure if you ask this gentleman he’s got it broke down his cost per mile. Very important or commercial driver. Hot rotting burning tires are for youngsters not someone making a living with ther vehicle. Old adage told me by a biker friend if it has tits or wheels if you don’t love it Pettit service at maintaining spend money on it it will quit. Don’t matter house your girlfriend your car the same sage advice Applies.

I’ve got 340,000 miles on my 17 F-250 XLT 6.7. It’s completely stock and the only parts that have been replaced were the batteries (which started leaking) and the shocks. (which were also leaking 😆) Both items were replaced at ~160k. I’ll be replacing my front brakes in the next week or so. I’m on my 5th set of tires. The first 3 sets were factory tires, the originals were Connie 18s, then a set of factory take-off Michelin 20s, then another set of factory Connie 18s. 4th set was Michelin ATX M/S. I got 115k out of those due to a funny wear pattern developing, and would have replaced them with the same tire, but Michelin’s were back ordered last month everywhere I looked. There’s a slight vibration at ~75 mph. I thought it was tires, but it’s still there with new tires. The center bearing (LB) and all the UJs seem tight, but I’m going to have a Driveline shop replace the UJs and the cneter bearing, and balance the assembly. I’ve changed the fluids in the differentials and transfer case once, and it’s on its 3rd fill of transmission fluid. I change the oil at 8-10k, and the fuel filters every 20-25k. I typically pull 5-9k# trailers and let it slow down a little on the way up the hills

But I never had an issue except a bad sparkplug from parts store I didn't check the gap. I think Ford parts and just vehicle itself are far superior cause I never had to replace anything but tires and 1 set of pads 250000 to me especially pulling 15,000 miles a year pulling a trailer. Guys, if you think he got this mileage from deleting his truck, you are sadly mistaken. First and most importantly is his maintenance, hands down. Second, is his driving style, long hours on the road at highway speeds and the engine at operating temperature. I've seen 6.0L engines reach 300,000-400,000 miles with original injectors, oil cooler, EGR cooler and head gaskets because of these two factors. Most high mileage 6.7L I see were stock trucks. More commonly, I see deleted 6.7L with dusted engines at 100,000 miles from cold air intakes that don't filter the air properly. Sure deleting most likely saved him on fuel and DEF costs as well as some emissions repairs but is far from the real reason he made it this far. Facts don't care about your feelings.

Its stuff like replacing his turbos before they blow. Youll hear them all the time on the streets whistling like this. Its not a good thing on a stock unit. Its unfortunate most people with diesel trucks are only interested in straight pipes and rolling coal.

When I tow my 5th wheel toy hauler…I back out to a safe speed and let the truck do the work; properly, not with my foot in the pedal. I am fully deleted and running the mini tuner.
