I’m an INTJ and I actually have little files on my phone on all my friends. The files have their full name then their date of birth as well as time and place of birth. Then I make notes on their favorite things such as color, music, tv shows, etc. I also have their favorite places to eat/drink and their most common orders. Then I have other notes on things they like and don’t like . I started this so that I know or have a close idea as to what to get my friends for their birthday and Christmas. I am now labeled as the best gift giver of my friend group.

They tend to become experts when it comes to the things they care about while often missing the big picture. Intj explore many different things filter out the 'noise' to arrive @ an effective solution / a more wholesome conclusion. We tend to get lost in the big picture while missing out on some important details

INFP here. Partnered 13 years with an INTJ. Once you get an INTJ, it's very easy to know who they are, how they work and how my INFPness works for them. Just like how his INTJness helps me. Although, I think I always have a leg up on him in the understanding department. Where as for him, my unpredictability can throw him off, but he enjoys that much more these days. Plus, I've learned to structure myself more, plan a little for the future and live more outside my head. It's funny how you say we are not compatible when most people say we are highly compatible. INTJ's and INFP's have a lot in common and those differences in FP and TJ can really help eachother learn from. FP's can use some TJ. TJ can use some FP. Yeah, the FP can be too much for the TJ. The TJ can be too much for the FP, but with a little understanding and perseverance we have the ability to have a wonderful experience together.

I guess it comes down to being mature, wanting to learn and grow from the experience. INFP's and INTJ's are both similar in being extremely picky in who they let in. We both share the IN which gives us a good basis to work with. I think even with the FP and TJ we still come to similar conclusions on many things, but how we come to those conclusions is very different. That can be very alluring to the other person. Many an INTJ's and INFP's will say we are like a mystery to each other that we want to explore. It's like being with someone who is so much like you in so many ways, but couldn't be more different in others. When my FP is being too damn FP he is like a beam of light that helps find my way. When his TJ is too rigid and narrow, I will grab his hand and tell him to come with me on a journey. I know our personalities can be a lot even for ourselves, so in many ways we need each other. There will always be those moments where we can be much for each other. Him being too damn judgmental and coming off as if he thinks he got it all figured out. Being extremely difficult to motivate and blunt to the point I think his foot permanently lives in his mouth. Where I am so unpredictable. I can be so caught up in my head that I completely forget I can make tomorrow a little easier for me if I actually thought ahead. I can be so moody and sensitive as if I am perpetually living on a roller coaster. A lot of those quirky personality traits have lighten up over the years after years of being together. We both understand we are exhausting people sometimes. lol Truly, those first few years were tough, yet so rewarding. We have both said the exact same reason why we stuck it through. It always comes back to this unmistakable bond, the feeling like we needed each other and this feeling like this person is really going to change you for the better. Of course when we shared that with each other I cried. lol Those emotions will come through like a tidal wave. lol I can see an INTJ and INFP being in a relationship where they want to be together, but can't seem to make it work. While also, not being able to be with out each other. There's an unmistakable attraction, but too much time together and you grow to hate TJ/FP quirks. Then a year later you forgot the bad and the unmistakable attraction pulls you together again. It's the grass is always greener effect. You think things will be better with someone else or being alone would be easier.

Watching you talk about the ENTP really opened up an old wound. My closest friend for 10 years was an ENTP but every time she did something extraordinary (gifting me lots of her artwork or turning up at my place uninvited to binge watch anime) I always became suspicious of her or became annoyed thinking that she was clingy and had no life outside of our relationship. Little did I know that she just wanted to be nice, that this was how she showed her appreciation of me (for I was her only friend, which I wasn’t aware of) and that I was the only person who really understood and shared her interests and nerdy self. I found myself ignoring her messages and avoiding her. One day she was so heartbroken over-hearing me complain to another friend about her clingyness, but as my immature self I denied it was my fault and refused to apologise. We stopped talking completely. Before I knew it, she moved back home to the US. Apparently she was failing her grades, suffering from mental illness, getting bullied (by her peers and the family she was staying with) and now she felt her only friend had betrayed her. She felt she had no choice but to leave Australia and move back home. I am stubborn and hate to admit most bad results are my fault - but that’s the only one I’ll ever admit. From then on I made sure to really communicate more with my friends, to check on how they’re going and to avoid being overly suspicious of anything nice they do. I think it’s really important for an INTJ to learn about values like appreciation and compassion as early in their life as they can.

Most other INTJs I have met seem cool at first but then we never seem to work out. INTPs always seem mellow and cool to me. I feel they share the same energy as me, and i'm always surprised when I press the right buttons and they energize out of nowhere. ENTPs always scare me at first with their energy levels, but they grow on me quickly. I love that they get me started when I need a push, and I keep them on track towards the finish. I also love that they are basically idea machines, and I pick an choose the ideas that I like and refine them. I catch myself saying stuff to them and immediately thinking "shit you can't say this to people" and they don't even think anything of it.

"I do have one really good friend that is another INTJ, but I feel like our Ni and Fi are so similar that we get along." I have noticed this trend in INTJs that I have internally dubbed the "INTJ uncanny valley". Apparently people of the same type have brains that are 80% similar when that is usually below 10%, and I think that if someone's brain is 90% or above in terms of similarity that the two INTJs will get along since as is the case with your friend you are so similar. But if that range is between 80%-90% is where there is conflict. Like looking at an android you are seeing something very similar to yourself but something is "off" and you don't like it. You will see aspects of yourself that you don't like (for example, an INTJ who is more arrogant than you. Some of the quotes on the IDRLabs INTJ page make me cringe) and will be quite disgusted by it compared to others since you know that if things went differently you could have turned out that way. I don't know how true that is for other types but INTJs are notorious for not liking other INTJs even though that isn't always true.

INTJ with INTJ - I think the right communication will actually make this relationship work but it's a spot on that it's easy for the relationship to fall apart, especially when both are immature because they are both so introverted yet distrustful. My friend and I are both INTJs and I could tell that we care about each other but whenever there's problem between us, we find it hard to open up to each other directly and instead, we tried to guess each other's intentions and make quick assumptions of each other. In the end we grew apart. It's funny because we pride ourselves as people who are direct and rational like we would not make stupid decisions in relationship like others, but looking back we really didn't communicate well and didn't know how each other feel.

I'm good friends with an INTP, INFP and INFJ and place them all leagues above my ISFJ sister. Met plenty of ISTJs as well, and they don't feel compatible at all. Conversations with ISTJs feel like pulling teeth out, it's so boring. They all have the same "I just wanna be content and be a cog in the wheel" type philosophy based on political view or maybe eudaimonia or some other philosophical or maybe religious belief and serious discussion is almost always reduced to semantics. I talked to an ISTJ philosophy student who thought postmodernism was rad, I thought it was stupid, I made some leaps in logic and he gave me a blank stare. After painstakingly explaining my point to him without the jumps in thought he basically said "Well you can't know that without proof." Go home Si. Eating up postmodern schlock without proof, but you can't see the merit of my points? On the other hand my ISFJ sister just thinks everything that she doesn't agree with is "weird" - that's actually her only opinion about different perspectives, something I live for. It's an impassable abyss. Sure we get along on a superficial level, know each others favorite color, make each other laugh, blahblah, but I'd be bored senseless if we had to talk every day. *All* serious discussion with her is either shut down immediately if I give a different viewpoint, or maybe kept for up to 10-15 minutes if I give support and encouragement to her ideas. I honestly just don't see it. People are required to have a well-developed inferior function to be compatible? If so then compatibility is long gone, you're already a well-rounded person and you can find compatibility with anyone and you have nothing left to learn.
@RyuMasterEX6 жыл бұрын
Bad Vibes I love Ne hence I love giving perspectives. Ne is always seen as the most overtly weirdest function and is ostracised quite often as c. S. Joseph knows all too well. Maybe the difference in how ISFJ see infj and resultant disparity in face value compatability is due to how society is so Sensor based. Through their lives rules and establishment have always been lauded so the intuitive re-perspective is a double whammy to their position on social norms
@RyuMasterEX6 жыл бұрын
Bad Vibes it's like our environment has a multipler effect on our functions and so it follows that some functions are stunted therefore the above diagrams could have thicker lines to represent the comfort and exacerbation of functions which would probably be more sensitive to how developed both parties are
@momothewitch6 жыл бұрын
So your point is that ISFJs need to develop their Ne to be INJ-compatible... and my point is that defeats the point of compatibility. Ne is the ISFJ's inferior function, the one they develop last. Once that's developed, they're done. They're compatible with every other type. It's basically the opposite of compatibility. They become INJ-compatible LAST, so they're basically LEAST compatible with INJs. And it makes total sense, you know, because NJs are notoriously bad with SJs in work environments according to other theories. SJs are process-oriented, NJs are results-oriented - that's a huge disparity that leads to disagreements and possibly contempt. The only merit of the pairing is that they can possibly learn from each other, but do they want to? Hell no. And that's not what compatibility is. People don't pick their friends because they're like "Oh I hate this person's perspective and they're totally different from me, I want to learn why that is" - they find someone who isn't annoying/boring the hell out of them (i.e. someone compatible) and then go from there. I've tried with my ISFJ sister, and it doesn't work. I think her opinions are shallow, and she thinks mine are pie in the sky ideas. There's no reconciliation until I develop my inferior function and she develops hers, and then we're back to my original point: Last compatible = Least compatible.
@RyuMasterEX6 жыл бұрын
Bad Vibes yea, I was alluding to those disparities. C.S Joseph could of easily put NFPs above SFJs if he slightly modified his criteria. Enfp and Intj are a very popular pairing. My INTJ friend dispises his ISFJ boss and love his ESFJ wife, the relationship dynamic could be unhinged by the heirachy of expectations. I statement about being compatible with everyone once your inferior function has developed is hard to gauage as it will still be less pronounced than your other functions. There will still be a preference. If you develop the ability to fly uphill, you'd still prefer a more natural downhill?
@RyuMasterEX6 жыл бұрын
Bad Vibes I'd like C. S. Joseph to clarify as having your super ego the ISFJ as supposedly high compatibility also applies to every type. As an intp with trickster Se, I find my super ego the Isfp to weird me out but I've never been in a relationship with one.

At the end of the day you really just want to spend your time with someone that understands you, someone that just fits. When I met my sweetie, here was someone with common interests and patience for understanding while still being of different personalities. It's nice to be with someone I can feel comfortable being my better self with, my warmer/wittier self. I can't get that with most people. I tend to be rather reserved at least until I can "figure" someone out and so long as it's on the side of positive. On the flip side of that, my bf can be a bit much for some people. He's funny and sweet, but he does love playing the devil's advocate for fun and good lord do not get him started on certain topics or he will go into a huge rant beyond what anyone has even brought up because he has already made those arguments in his head a hundred times over. I do not think this lecture series is "redundant". I think it's great! Thank you for putting in the time to do it! I wish you would do a compatibility (romantic that is) between INFP and INTJ. I find that match is rarely presented but it is very strong for many INFPs and INTJs! You see it all over the forums as well. I prefer INFPs to ENFPs actually (romantically that is - still love my ENFP friends). I myself (an INTJ) have been married to an INFP and then dated another one after that for 7 years (still going with that one). There is something about the pairing that seems to work.
@Nitoria.2 жыл бұрын
Same!!! I could date ENFP, but INFP suits me better, unless they are TOO submissive and cannot be a man AT ALL. Like you could be submissive but not henpecked or pu**y-whipped. When it comes to close friends my one best friend is ENFP -organized one, girl And my other good friends are: ENTP - simmilar but different person at the same time, props to this type, like relationship with them it's like "bro/bruh", ENFP - messy one man, INFP - girl a bit more realistic then next one, also have more practical skills but not ISFP, INFP for sure) INFP - smart, creative person, girl identify as a man; problems with identity, worried person, Fi overthinking And INFP who "hit" me ... my heart ----- not easy weirdo realationship, like in series When I got more into MBTI it was funny... "Oh I attract mostly NPs subconciously". Also I think ENFP/INFP > ESFJ/ISFJ Moreover, I will put ESFJ/ISFJ at the bottom!!! Even with ENFJ and INFJ I get along better. I wouldn't be able to stand living life with ESFJ. Especially, if I was a man with ESFJ woman like this wife from Breaking Bad... kill me. From my experience explaining sth to them [using our Ni, also Te] OMFG I am out!!! They're too casual in my view when it comes to talking, especially if they're old and talk with people in their age ... everyday stuff, casual things ONLY... Really it would be veeery hard for me to be with any sensor in relationship, maybe ISFP or ESTJ would come out. dot. Even if ESFJ are mature... no. It's good that I have close aunt with this type, I really like her. But gosh she cares too much, thinks too much, knows better who you are (I've heard that is typical fo ESFJ) and (not only her) tone of voice when they knows what's better ... I don't appreciate Fe in people, sometimes it's just stupid to make decisions this way. They now better, you don't have empathy... oh rly? So from my experience with people ENTP > ENFP/INFP > INTP > ESTJ > ISFP > ESTP/ ESFP > ISTP/ISTJ > ISFJ > ESFJ I know close only one ENTJ (my dad) and none INTJ so I can't put them in general. But when it comes to INFP, such a nice living creatures haha But communication with them it's a chalenge for us. Espacially using text messages. If you' ve got some advices/tips, maybe interesting/useful info or stories about communication with INFP let me know, I am open to read that. :)

I have an ENTP boss and you are spot on about us. We are so compatible at work. We just get into a perfect groove all the time. Also, I agree totally with the INTP analysis. But, hmmm, as an INTJ with a step-mom ESFJ for the last 43 years, I cannot see that being a "great relationship". If fact I've always seen it as one of the worst for me. We have very little in the way of mutual interests. I find ESFJs intellectually frustrating so that shocked me when you said ESFJ can go into "intellectual mode". In my experience, ESFJs are the antitheses of that. One has actually said to me with a bit of annoyance that I "use too many big words". They can't handle hearing about anything that matters to me for longer than a minute or two before they are getting bored and looking at the tv or getting up to go do something else. Maybe it's just a problem with this particular ESFJ but I really can't imagine choosing to spend time with her if I didn't have to. She is a nice enough person and she does get a lot of stuff done, which I respect, but I don't like how I feel that she judges me for example, for not fitting in with her expectations of how I should be. I'm very curious as to what you think about this. Wait, "exquisite marriage"??? Man, I just can't see that at all. Weeeelll, I CAN see how awesome it would be to have an ESFJ who takes care of me in the Se sense (cooking, house-cleaning, etc.). But what about intuition? I NEED a afellow intuitor. Maybe because both my parents are intuitors so I'm just accustomed to that (Mom was an INFJ, Dad is ENTJ). I tend to get romantically involved with INFPs. What could be the reason that this relationship does not work? Okay, at the end there when you said that the ESFJ likes that the INTJ knows how they feel, yes, I can see the appreciation from her about me regarding that. I am always careful to let her know when I appreciate something she has done for me, like cook a meal, and she really loves that. And i do feel like she is protective. Follow up: Okay several months later and I now work with an ISFJ and we get a long great! She became a new employee at my work a few months ago and we work pretty closely together and I can see where she does not always buy into my ideas but it's just pretty funny because she's not rude about it. In fact I think her husband is an intuiter as well from how she describes him (he's a very warm-hearted, idea-having therapist, guessing he's an INFJ or ENFP). I really like the ISFJ.

This is incredible information. Was totally unaware that introverted and extroverted senses try to pair up. This explains why humans feel incomplete when they are on their own. In Greek mythology they used to say humans originally had two heads and were always happy but the heads were later separated by Zeus into two separate bodies and this is how loneliness was created.

Lol female intj here, my best friend is an infj, last year I had a mentor who is an esfp, and a boss who was entj. Now I’m wondering why I didn’t notice how I stressed out I can get in those relationships sometimes. Funny enough though, I knew a couple entps and we never really took (I can be pretty reserved and I don’t think I ever entertained them enough), I had to work with an esfj (worst experience ever- she was always concerned with how she felt and where she stood socially), and lost a good friend who is an enfp (he betrayed my trust twice, and I only gave him a second chance because I’m trying to get beyond the whole paranoia thing). I’ve come out of this observing that personality is worth nothing without maturity.

Story time: In college I had a roommate assigned to me (as most people do). Turns out we are both INTJ. First time meeting each other we said hi, introduced ourselves, said what our major was, and then pretty much never talked again for the 4 months we lived together. We both were doing things that annoyed the other, but neither of us ever complained to the other. We just lived with the annoyances. For example he left the TV on all the time, including overnight. I never said anything to him, but what I would do was turn it off when he left the room (super passive aggressive move). He would simply turn it back on upon entering. I would also turn it off when he fell asleep. I lost a lot of sleep over those months. Finally I decided I couldn’t take it anymore and transferred away from him. Fun times.

Here's a typical experience I have as an INTJ. I read someone's comment on Twitter. The comment is based on falsehoods as well as inconsistent with itself. I reply to this person to let him know this. Said person responds by saying, "you don't know me and can't judge me" I respond, well, you have revealed yourself by your own words. Therefore I can make judgments about how you think of the topic you chimed in on. Said person gets irate and either blocks me or ignores me. Very seldom does said person attempt to defend his position when I directly and succinctly attack it. I look for a defense, not so I can further rip him apart, but so said person can be more self aware of his illogical assertion. When said person disappears, I can only hope he thinks a little deeper down the road.

I kinda pissed off with ENFPs when i first met them. But they are my favorite people on earth. They bring me out of my shell and protect me in their fun land. INTPs get me. Talking with them is deep and precious. I just don't think they care that much. I never sure about our relationship and I am not comfortable with that. Also couldn't read him well at all, so never could tell if he was lying or what his intentions were. My two best friends for over a decade are ESFP's. My daughter is ESFP too, so that could soften my outlook on that personality type. Or because I am a female, so not sure if the dynamics change a bit. Romantically yes, ENFP, and ENTP. Although I have only met one ENTP. I am not sure about the dynamics of it. They say INTJ's are like cats. I find him to be more like a cat, he only comes around on his own terms. Can't seem to nail him down and it vexes me. I do think ENTP is my favorite personality type. ENFP are so insightful, but also very emotional and passionate which has its pros and cons.

I'm an INTJ, back in middle school and high school my best friend was an ENTP. Unfortunately that friendship didn't last, I assume it's because of my distrust of him, he and I were interested in the same girl, I dated her first, but he ended up dating her after I did, which of course felt like a betrayal, so I accused him of betrayal and we haven't talked since by his choice not mine. I have attempted to contact him several times over the years, he never returned my phone calls, so I've stopped attempting to contract him, just assumed that we've grown apart. I have a current friend who I butt heads with a lot over political views, he's an ESFJ. But aside from those political view differences we get along great, but being that he's a, "Crusader," those political views come up all the time, and I constantly try to point out the flaws in his logic that I see about them, but he's in a political echo chamber so he can't see my logic and assumes my logic is flawed, but I also think it's because his logic is coming from a place of feelings and mine is coming from what I think is better for people regardless of feelings. One thing I find interesting though is that most of my current friends are ESTJs, but after having watched your videos on the Quadras, it makes more sense being that they are the Philosophers and I'm a Wayfarer, though that Trickster Ni does tend to put some stress on our friendships because I've known even before your videos on the Quadras that I have a tendency to be selfish, so I try to do my best to see what my friends want and they get irritated with me because they don't know what they want, but now knowing about the Quadras I know I can just tell them what I want and they'll go along with it, but knowing this now it almost feels like a license to be selfish, and that feels wrong from an Fi point of view, but the reason I get irritated with them is because that Trickster Ni seems like a lack of ambition. They are initiators, but trying to overcome their Fi to get them to do anything is pain in the butt, it seems they have even less motivation to get started than I do at times.

ENFP wife here married to an INTJ 7 years my senior plus we come from different cultural backgrounds. I was born and raised in Canada and he was born and raised in HK. We are polar opposites, but after 20 years together, I know this is the only type I could marry. My sister is an INFJ and she's my best friend. I am very disorganized, but somehow among my mess, I still know where my things are. My husband looked in my wallet the other day and saw my cash crushed among some old receipts and said, "I can't stand this. How can you stand it? You like being messy. That's the only reason I can come up with for your messiness. Do you like being a mess?" I replied while doing my make-up, "No, I don't enjoy being messy if that's what you're saying. It just happens and I don't mind it until I do." Husband's conclusion, "No, if it was my wallet, I'd organize it right away because I couldn't stand it. You must like it." Me (in my head), "I don't like you, but here we are." Unlike most stereotypes about ENFPs, I do not like hugs. I'm affectionate in general but I don't show it physically. Hugs make me feel awkward. That being said, there are times when I want/need a hug, usually if I've been sick for a long time or if I'm VERY sad like as in death of a family member or dog. When I need a hug I only want my INTJ husband to hug me, not even my sister. He's my ride or die bc he knows me inside out and sticks by me and even though we don't see eye to eye on many things initially, we always end up getting each other's point of view. When I'm in work mode and have a lot to do, I turn into an INTJ and when my husband is relaxed with no worries or plans to make, he acts more like an ENFP and can be spontaneous and funny. We piss each other right off, but we also make each other laugh like crazy.

I am an istp and I have an intj brother, as long as we can keep our communication focused for the other we can have some really stimulating conversations (a recent example of when our communication doesn’t “work” was when he was talking about having a death tax rather than income tax I could not simply grasp the fact that he was talking an ideal society not applying it to our current society). These same thing happens with my estp dad. Another thing I have to be careful of is to not question his assessments after asking his opinion and I should realize even if he doesn’t use specific details he has enough info to be confident in this which I should trust, an example of this is when I was looking at a mountain bike I asked him if he thought it was a good deal, he said no because it was not the bike they claimed. The truth after me questioning him ended up being a model older than stated that was discontinued and was still not worth it (he knew it was not a great deal b4 looking into all of this and made a shortcut that almost always ends up correct that is much more efficient and the reason I asked his opinion to begin with.

Can you explain in scenarios where you'd differ from your ESFJ dad, in terms of being Affirmative vs Pragmatic? There's a person I know who I first typed as an ESFJ; but the more I get to know him, the more I wonder if he's an ENTP. I don't see the typical: "getting triggered" if losing harmony, common in Affiliative types. But he still talks way too much about People & past events vs Ideas which makes me believe he's an ESFJ after all. I’ve been in a INTJ-INTJ relationship for the last 8 years and in my experience I disagree with the incompatibility issue. Being one of the rarest types, one of my struggles was the lack of understanding from the rest of my relationships (lots of INTPs btw) but when I knew her it was instant match (we didnt know about mbti back then). We talk about everything in a deep level all the time, we solve problems between us as soon as posible and we don’t have to deal with emotional nosense. We are open about our feelings, even if they are negative. The only arguments we have from time to time are ego battles, that are mostly in an intelectual level that we don’t take personally. I don’t really see how an INTJ-INTJ relationship can be more incompatible than INTJ-ESFP or INTJ-ISFJ.

C.S. Joseph Hi! First of all I want to thank you for the work you’re doing, I’m learning a lot! The last couples of weeks I’ve been watching all your videos about functions, social engineering and have to say I started to be a bit paranoid about being mistyped (and my gf too), so I watched the videos about all the types (you know, confirmation bias) and I started to read about interaction styles and the temperament theory. But all evidence is telling me that we both are INTJ: we both are direct, responding, systematic, abstract, future oriented. We don’t really respect social convections or traditions and when we have to face situations like, for example parents with a new baby, we’re really uncomfortable and have to force ourselves to be correct, fake smile, etc. We jump into conclusions ALL the time, and that’s always one our biggest struggles as a couple. Our willpower is strong, for example the last 2 years we’ve been exercising 3 times per week and rarely miss a single training. We plan everything all the time but usually too lazy to start working on stuff, especially when we were younger. We really like order but we usually forget about domestic stuff, like washing the dishes, cooking or cleaning up. At work we both made a change in the work process of the companies we’re working on. In one video you mentioned something like “they like to be the only person that knows to do that single thing”. That is 100% accurate. I really want to know what makes you doubt

I want to say from my experience that the cognitive attitudes of INTJ and ISFJ mix like oil and water (except when either of the types uses their subconscious). The huge impulsiveness of Ni hero paired with progression creates that whiplash for Ne inferior Chase mentions. Te parent finds Ti child childish and Ti child doesn’t want to be parented. Same thing between Fe parent and Fi child. Personally my Fi child feels attacked or unacknowledged, or bashed (this might be for those with underdeveloped Fe parent and/or overactive Ti child). Also, since the parent function seems to have an attitude of guiding or reshaping the other person, I feel like it can kind of let the child down, and sort of “kill it’s dreams”. I found that I can get along well with ISFJs if hanging out for short bursts. But if we’re around each other for too long, our parent and inferior functions seem to run out of steam and then we lose the ability to continue fulfilling each other’s primary needs.

I never got along with my former brother-in-law who's an ENTJ, so that makes sense. I can't stand control freaks in general, but he lost all my respect the first time I heard him yell at his wife and hated him every time he made his sister, my INFP ex-wife, cry over the phone or when he'd forget to even wish her a happy birthday ... because he somehow forgot that her birthday's on January 1st.... I hated him and all his legalistic wannabe mafia goons. Controlling our marriage through my ex-wife, that was so much fun to put up with. Argh. One thing for compatibily between the INTJ and ENFP I had read was that having the judging functions the same in the ego, but in different order, helps them to understand things the same basic way while still complementing, and having the perception functions in the same spot, but different focus, outward vs inward, it helps both to perceive similarly while one gathers and the other organizes. I've gotten along fairly well with a penpal who's an ENFP for 11 years so far. She's been one of they few that has stuck around even when I was a vegan a couple years, and for the years I was crying over my ex-wife so darn much in whatever crazy stress modes I was going through, even when most other friends left. I hope if I ever remarry, my future wife will pretty much be exactly like her. Well, minus chronic fatigue syndrome hopefully, because that really is a sadness for her. I'll probably spend the rest of my life alone, but I know the kind of person I hope to marry if I ever do. Yeah, "any two types can work", but it does suck when communication is like climbing the cliffs of insanity without a rope. It is difficult not to compare people and be paranoid when bad experiences are the type that are most common. It is sadly far too easy to be pessimistic. Have to just follow the golden rule though. Paranoia does really suck though. Good video.

Damn sorry to hear your side of story with ENTJ's . As an ENTJ I can concur that we like to be in control and power, that's just our nature. If you hate such people that's your opinion. I can't say about that. But the person you talk about do you know why did he shout at his wife or why did he make your ex-wife cry?. I am not defending him , I just wanna say not everything is either black or white. If he is at fault he surely seems like an immature and foolish ENTJ. As most mature ENTJ'S have developed ni function and don't display such violent tendencies. Plus you say he hangs out with goons so you were probably dealing with a dangerous man to begin with. Also may I please know as an INTJ why you hate people with power?

One time it was that Jackie had been adding too many of "his" friends on farcebork. Another was yet another lecture about nothing. There were always neverending lectures. He has his own flock of followers, goons I consider them. They all owe him favors and do his bidding. Nothing illegal that I know of, but it's like a wannabe mafia which he runs. I never let him do me any favors because I refused to owe him anything. I don't like people in power, especially if they're lazy or stupid, but just seeking power annoys me because everyone should be equal and just cooperate as necessary.

I know making a generalization from one data point is fallacious though, I'm not trying to say all ENTJs are bad. My stepdad is also a control freak, though I think he's an ESTJ rather than an ENTJ.

Benevolens Psittacorum Hmm the guy you talk about seems to be a little immature. However I may not be an expert but you seem to hate him not only because of his bad nature but also because of his societial status. ENTJ'S and ESTJ'S both are leaders and powerful people. Maybe your hate for powerful people made you hate the ENTJ more than he deserved. Think over it. Also just my 2 cents as an ENTJ, that people of power are absolutely necessary and there must be a difference in power for things to run smoothly as you may have known that most people in the world are generally demotivated and uninspired to work hard and be created. It's the role of a leader to encourage his people and make sure things go smoothly. I do agree that incompetent leaders are a pain in the arse but isn't every other incompetent person too 😉. I like the idea behind 2 persons of the same type NOT being a good match but I do think that the worst matches are the ones that are going to be particularly harsh towards INTJ’s inferior and/or child functions. I feel like that’s valid for all the types trying to build a long term love affair tbh - if a partner can’t take care of the other’s inner child and isn’t good at helping the inferior go aspirational, then shit is bound to happen.

Honestly, I get along with NTPs, STPs and INFJs. Imo, INTJ-ENFP relationships are the most toxic. Sincerely, an INTJ

I have the opposite problem. I find it easy to start things, but get bored half way threw, and drop it. Mentally, I complete the project, and it's always better than reality.

Thank you very much. That was great, like a knowledge bomb in my earhole. Love learning about this stuff now.

I'm a 52-year old INTJ and my Dad is an 75 year old ENTJ. We are very close and get along really well. I love my ENTJ Dad. Nobody gets him like I do and we can talk for hours. Neither one of us has ever tried to tell jokes to each other or really anyone else beyond the random one here and there. I think I've told a joke about 10 times in my entire life. I like other forms of humor and people tell me I'm funny but I don't tell jokes. It's just not my thing. Neither does Dad. He's too serious to be a jokester..

The problem I have with this theory about INTJ ENTP being most compatible is that you paint it as the easiest. I'm sure you have reasons for this I haven't heard yet. However being easy does not translate to good results all the time. Improvement through struggle. Both of these types weak feeling functions may lead to no conflict, but I believe conflict can be beneficial. Also I have no idea yet why you don't think an INTJ and INTJ would be least conflicting, for some reason you think they are communicating on different levels but I'm not sure why you think they wouldn't think on the exact same level making for seamless communication. I'm thinking it may have to do with the difference between extroverion and introversion in this theory. I lived with an ENTP roomate and he is a great guy and I'm an INTJ. he really fucked his life up with divorce and kids and heavily in debt, very funny guy though but even after 6 months of living with him I felt a very odd psychological distance that had nothing to do with a lack of communication. we talked a lot and now we don't talk anymore

Sorry but i got some ENTPs at work. They really want to be my friend but get on my nerves. Then again almost everyone gets on my nerves... I do see great potential in what you're doing and am learning a lot about myself and other people. Any chance of a How to Social Engineer an INTP coming out soon?

I'm curious if you have any insight on this. I'm an ENFP and my long time 10 year boyfriend is an INTJ. Sometimes I try to cheer him up if he seems like he's in a bad mood and this makes him feel unaccepted as if I want him to be a different person. My want for his happiness and my extreme dislike for conflict and negativity...well brings a lot of conflict for us. Have you run into this and do you have any suggestions/insights for me?

be comfy around him, ask him to make you comfy and react to him. Give him the freedom to do what he wants. Tell him you think highly of him and list out reasons and experiences as to why.

I really like this work you seem to have done. Just watched an hour of your channel and usually I need a few days and videos before doing that lol! Subscribed! (I am an INTJ) And you don't really care that I enjoy it - I take it haha. But that's fine for me :p

Having ESFJ as SO, I agree about our compatibility with them. And especially about their ability to mimic INTP, to a degree, of course.

I am an INTj and i dont seem to like ENTPs much. I think one of my exes was one and I ended up hating him. Maybe it has to do with my eneagram 8w9. I like listening to them but i dont want to be in a relationship with one. Their morals/code of ethics seem a little too pliable for my taste. I like people who genuinely care more about people and doing the right thing like ISFJs. Sometimes ENFP but their morals also seem to be too pliable

first thing i notice about an entp is their provocative humor and way of looking at things that can make my Fi uncomfortable but then they make me laugh and that tension dissipates. i’ll notice i say to myself i normally don’t like these types of people but for some reason i find them really cool and intriguing and even if my Fi is offended i don’t care, superrrr weird and this literally only happens with entps
