Aurora is great in the studio but you have to watch her live performances to fully appreciate her as an artist. A true free spirit. She draws you in to her performances. She is unique. A few live videos I would recommend (in this order): "Through The Eyes Of A Child" and "Lucky" both from an old cathedral in Norway (Nidarosdomen sp?), "It Happened Quiet" live from The Current and lastly "Murder Song 5, 4, 3, 2,1" from the 2015 Nobel Peace Prize Concert. She also does "Runaway" from this same Nobel Peace Prize Concert. It's worth checking out when you have the time.

Oh boy, the Aurora rabbit hole is a good one to go down. Everything she does is amazing. Saw her perform a couple of years ago in Toronto, and it was just magical. I'm a grown woman, but let me tell you, I cried the moment she came out and sang her first note. She is one of the best live performers ever.

Great reaction to one of my favorite artists! Aurora was around 19 years old in this video she is 27 now almost 28. Video was shot near where her parents home is outside of Bergen, Norway - she grew up spending a lot of time in the woods (yes, she is very much in touch with nature). She wrote this song when she was 11 years old - she says the meaning of it keeps evolving as she gets older - messages from her younger self. Not only is she a talented singer/songwriter but also musician, producer, artist and dancer. Her music videos are mini - masterpieces but her live performances are out of this world. I hope you go down the Aurora rabbit hole - it's a journey well worth it.

OMG, I can’t believe you guys found Aurora - this is so great! This was the first video I saw of her music when I discovered her 4 years ago. The video was shot in Norway where she lives and she was 19 in this video. You got so much from the video correct - she lived in such a remote part of Noway, there were only a handful of kids in her class and she spent most of her time in nature where I believe she would feel most at home. Aurora is a Gem! She calls her fan base "Warriors and weirdos". Writer, producer, dancer, best experienced live. I've seen her live actually. Her lyrics are always profound and open to interpretation. Quirky, funny, empathic and a sweet soul. I'd suggest "Through the eyes of a child" live from Nidarosdomen next but heck, close your eyes and pick one, can't go wrong!

Great seeing the amazing Aurora make it to your channel! She is a rabbit hole well worth going down. You'll get a lot of comments that she's best observed live, and it's true. She's one of the best performers I've ever seen. I know you guys like to hear studio versions first, and if you stick to that, her live version of "Runaway" at the 2015 Nobel Peace Prize concert is absolutely amazing. "Murder Song" from the same concert or "Through the Eyes of a Child" at Nidarosdomen would also be great introductions to Aurora as a performer. But really, you can't go wrong, no matter what you choose.

Aurora began playing piano at age six, and she wrote most of the songs of her debut album, including "Runaway", at a young age. According to her, she wrote the song when she was 11 or 12 years old and created the melody on a piano she had at her home, which took an hour approximately. "Runaway" was originally composed for a school assignment when Aurora was in ninth grade. However, she preferred to keep her music private at the time she wrote the song.

Some facts about the Runaway Music Video: It was shot (as far as we know) during January 31 to February 2, 2015. She was 18 at this time. She wrote Runaway at the age of 11-12 and finalized it at the age of 14 (for a school project, as she mentioned in an interview). The parts, where she wears the 'furry' top (it's actually sheep wool) are shot at the west coast of the Drange peninsula, less than a mile away from her parents house. The parts in the forest were shot in the same forest where she played as a kid very close to her parents house. The parts, in which she wears a thin white cardigan and with some trees in the near background and the island of Lysøya in the background, are shot actually in the backyard of her parents house in Drange (Norway).

Aurora is releasing her new album in June i believe. She's also embarking on yet another world tour soon. A true talent. She was the voice calling Elsa in the Disney movie song "into the unknown". She is now 27 and has been touring worldwide for 10 years. Singer Songwriter, Producer, Dancer and Musician. She's playing the Glastonbury festival in England for the 3rd time later this year. A TRUE artist and a wonderful soul.

I genuinely don't get why people keep suggesting the official video of Runaway. It's pretty but it's so obvious how she just let them do everything because it was her first video. Pretty much every video after that is more like her, clearly because she started to influence the decisions - and luckily they let her :-) But as the others have already pointed out: she is one to watch live anyway. :-) You can hardly go wrong with any of her live perfomances if they are professionally recorded.

I agree with everyone down below. In my opinion, if Aurora's song Murder 5,4,3,2,1 is next on the list the 2015 Nobel Peace Prize Concert is the best version of the song. Aurora really embodies the woman she is singing about almost like she is temporarily connected to the Spirit of the Woman who the song was written about. Most music artist just don't go that deep into the story. 2017 Nidarosdomen Concert is really the Start of Aurora's Professional Debut... Perfect Venue for her style of Pop/Folk in a Beautiful Cathedral. She has conquered her nerves performing at large venues by now compared to 2015 Nobel Peace Prize concert and is very engaging with the audience very comfortable on stage looking around showing a very beautiful smile in between sets before she goes down the rabbit hole when she is singing her songs.... I agree with some below the best version of "Through the Eyes of a child" is 2017 Nidarosdomen Concert which is available on KZbin as well as the 2015 Concert. She also does some really great cover songs. Aurora really likes David Bowie and Does her own rendition of the song "Life on Mars" . Aurora actually ends her 2017 Nidarosdomen Concert with David Bowie's Song. There is a studio version of the song where she is playing keyboard/electric organ but I like the Nidarosdomen version much better she sings it with much more depth to her sound.... There is a lot of songs that are great. The songs "Cure for Me" (she dancing the Charleston in the music video which is really great music video) and "Exist for Love" (also a great music video) shows of her more quirky fun side. She got a few Power Ballads "Warrior" ; "Running with the Wolves"; and her most recent released KZbin video this year "Some type of Skin". Actually people have leaked cell phone videos of her sing this song on stage and she is Dancing around while sing this powerful song.... Aurora has got the pipes to sing ,when she wants; so much talent in that little body is Amazing.....

Aw, so glad yall discovered Aurora… This is one artist where it would be safe to break your rule of doing the studio version first and then the live, for the most part… With the exception of The Seed Which you most definitely want the video for, every other song will give you exactly what you need with the live version first, she’s that spectacular!! No doubt you’ll get a ton of requests for her most popular songs, but you can find some hidden gems on a KZbin channel called ‘Like A Version’ where she does some spectacular covers! Massive Attack’s Teardrop, The Beatles’ Across The Universe, David Bowie‘s Life on Mars and a bunch of others you might enjoy! ✌🌌💙

As a little girl in Norway she spent a lot of time in the forest with the animals day and night and has always been “special.” She was terrified of performing at first but wanted to share her thoughts and music. One of her later, most upbeat, songs is Cure For Me. But as always with a deeper message. It’s a protest against conversion therapy practiced in some countries to “cure” homosexuality. She’s bisexual and regardless of what anyone thinks of that they should respect her courage. I’m hetero and I do. Another insight is her performance of Heathens at Rough Trade East, London. She dedicated the song to “the Mother who takes care of the people who aren’t welcome in heaven.” Like me.😊❤

Followed AURORA (no, I'm not shouting, it's how she wants her name credited!) since 2017. She's unique. She reminds me of Elizabeth Fraser from The Cocteau Twins. Not only that, but she wrote this song and its arrangement at age 11. Yes, 11. She writes all her material and directs her own videos in collaboration with a long-time friend. Her sister makes all her outfits for the videos. She's a classically trained dancer as well. She's a national treasure in Norway. My favourite AURORA songs are Black Water Lilies, I Went Too Far, The M*rder Song, Runaway and Queendom. YT has a few live concerts of hers. One was held in a Norwegian forest mid-winter with lanterns and Reindeer, just magical. Another was in a Cathedral with a choir. There are also a few Capella songs too. Watch them as she's mesmerising, quirky and unique. She totally immerses herself in the lyrics and music, unaware of the audience in front of her. It's just her and the music at that particular point in time.

Hi, I'm for the first time on your channel, great reaction. :) I don't know if you're taking requests from comments, especially if no one else than me would recommend this, but... If you like emotional songs, I really recommend japanese rock/metal band The Gazette and their song "泣ヶ原" (Nakigahara), this song don't have music video, but there is live video with english subs, even better than studio version. Nakigahara means place where women were waiting for their men to come back from war, it's synonymous with “someone waiting in isolation and grief for loved one who never shows up" or something like that. Song is about loneliness and internet, about person so lonely that they lost themself in internet and can't go back, isn't it unfortunately common in current times? It's not love song like many people think without understanding lyrics... This song is slow rock song and live performance I recommend is just incredible, vocalist Ruki putting so many emotions in his vocal and behavior, he's amazing performer. This song was released in 2009 and live performance is from the same year. I hope you will react to it, even if it's just one person who recommend it, I think topics like in this song are very important and more people should hear it.
