Awww you make me relish the find memories growing up with my mom's cooking. She cooked from scratch. Then she started working PT then some items bought like rolls, frozen veggies etc. Then parents asked me to cook when she went FT for a brief period. I hated it at first but they loved what I cooked so much...I started getting fancy. My dad started making requests!!! Then I started researching recipes in cookbooks. It became fun. I will always say scratch cooking is better then restaurant food. Your Daniel is a cutie pie.🥰

One thought, you are a super busy mother. I admire how you cook and take such good care of your family. I have one small thought that could save you a lot of time. Have you ever thought of a food processor? I own a large one and I use it almost every day. With the amount of onions and peppers that you chop you could do it once a week and put the produce into freezer containers and save the time and mess each time. I do this a lot in summer when we have loads of peppers from the garden. It saves loads of time. I also use the machine to grate cheese. My machine has a slicer too. I can slice meat for sandwiches (not large pieces, but small pieces of chicken, ham, or beef. I slice potatoes in mine too. I saves a load of time. Just a thought.

I also cook my Brussels sprouts in the oven with a little olive oil and seasonings or I roast them in the air fryer. Either way of roasting makes them yummy. They also do not give as much upset or gas on the tummy as cooking them on the stove does.

I just found your channel because i recently bought a berkey and watched your video on how to set it up! I am loving your channel! Since I've had children (2) I've been trying to live cleaner and eat healthier! I love fermenting and i do sauerkraut often, but you have inspired me to try a sourdough starter again. The first few times i followed traditional cooking school recipe but i just couldn't keep it up. Lord willing i will have more success this time. And thank you for the meal ideas. We do A LOT of ground beef and beans. Chili, burritos, etc...... i recently made bean and bacon soup. Very yummy and filling 👍

@Roxjetlagged4 жыл бұрын
Ive had them in school in Belgium I hated the taste, then my mom made it and it was really good. Depends how you make them and what flavor you add. Hers are buttery even though she cooks very healthy, but somehow she makes them in a way that makes the bitter taste disappear. She is a really good cook though. Should ask her how she makes them

I just made some tonight! My favorite way to do it is to get some frozen Brussels sprouts, and then unthaw them. Then put them in the oven in a pie plate so that they're just evenly covering the bottom with some oil over the top, anywhere between 375-400 for at least 30 minutes probably. They're pretty good that way, but my brother likes to put some grated parmesan cheese over his and then eat them!

I love brussel sprouts boiled, then one day when I was at my mom's I had them a new way; cooked in the cast iron. She got her pan hot with oil, (I use avocado oil now for my family), dumped in the frozen brussels, salted and peppered generously, she covered it loosely with foil and let them cook maybe 5 minutes, moved them around in the pan to turn them and cooked about another 5 minutes, covered. So, so good. My sister makes really good green beans kind of the same way.

Just so you know, the sourdough starter skillet you made in the last video totally revolutionized our weekly menu. My kids and husband love it. The only thing I changed was adding a gravy into the base meat/veggie part to make it a little less dry. But yeah....it's a family favorite.
