We've been eating grilled mackerel and a version of doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) at least once a week lately. Today we added fresh blue crabs and sea squirts which made the stew incredibly delicious. This is a very classic home dinner menu in Korea. Some people worry about mom and dad's diet from watching some videos but we eat this type healthy meals majority of the time off camera.
When I was young, I didn't like mackerrel because it has a richer flavor than other fish but now I am literally obssessed with it.. maybe because my body knows I need more omega 3? Mackerel is much underappreciated in the US. Hubby told me it's used as a bate for fishing 😲. But Mackerel is packed with omega 3, protein, vitmains and minerals. And tastes amazing!! But you gotta make sure it's very fresh because it gets fishy very fast.

First, I want to thank you so much for the history of this meal under Description. . . and just sharing in general . . . also, you enjoy once a week. Love variety at your meals. Very interesting the scorched rice soup, it reminded me of “juk” or congee. I would love to watch a video of how your family made “juk” I would love to start making that . . . How is it different from the scorched rice soup? Thank you so much. WOW! this video was such a delight! Take Care

I just love how you and your mom actually did a pretty good limitation of your dad stuffing one big huge multi-filling leaf concoction in your mouths lol; but I still love how differently your mom and your dad eat; Mom is like an artist and can mostly be delicate for the most part, but dad really is like a Dyson lol

HARD NO ON THE SEA SQUIRTS!!! First the name 😂😂😂 second not a fan of crunchy sea food…..make that any crunchy animal protein with the exception of octopus sometimes (but the octopus is often overcooked if it’s crunchy).
