Mainoo is class and even if we benched him for an “underwhelming” game, he clearly has the mindset to get back on the pitch and prove why he hasn’t been dropped.

It's been a while since I've felt confident in a lead with this team. Last season it felt like no matter the score, we could lose even if it was minute 90+. We have a long way to go, but AN ENTIRE HALF without conceding a shot is not something we saw at all last season.

People forget Mainoo is 18 and is expected to not make any mistakes which is ridiculous. Some fans need time get a grip. Zirkzee had a good game and his link up play is excellent. A goal would have topped a good display but I’m happy with what I saw from him

My problem with amad right now is his decision making in the final third..much like the rest of our wingers they struggle to decide when to shoot or when to pass,and also do not fancy going on the outside and using their weak feet but i believe he's the best of the lot and can do so much better

I think Mainoo is also going through that phase many young players do of blowing up and then going through a rough patch. The best go on to breaking that barrier. Let’s see if Mainoo manages to.

I wasnt convinced...I didnt see anything that we can take to the next game apart from the 3 points. I didnt see the automatisms ten hag talks about and the goals especially the first 2 where individual brilliance. I think even if we played Liverpool again...two times in a row, they would still beat us. Thats what worries me...that we didnt change anything and that Liverpool and Brighton would still hammer us today....a few weeks after getting hammered by them

Zirkzee needs Ruud to improve his offensive part of his game cos it's not good enough, his body language is 'too casual' he needs to up his focus, fitness, conditioning & sharpness to be a regular in this team! No 'Shin Pads' that an issue to the fanbase. The manager should tell him 'No Pads No Play' this is where We think the manager is been careless & not protecting the players. Capt. Bruno has to play as an disciplined 8 to stay in the team for Zirkzee to benefit otherwise drop him! We expect top 4 nothing less!

Bruno has really been off these games, if Mount is fit he should really play n8 and rest Bruno. Amad and Rashford should continue to play with Hojlund when fit. Maybe a diamond of midfield would work with Zirkzee playing as a playmaker but he can't play striker, I believe Hojlund is much better in that place.

It was the exact same performance as Liverpool. Still pressed In the nonsense 4 2 4 system. 2 midfielders disconnected from everyone else. The only difference between this game was the absolute quality over south Hampton. If we had played that way against mid table team we would have struggled.

@@Mezue19 The guy is correct. Its not a thing of being positive or negative, what he said is factual. Yes the performance was a solid one but it wasn't the greatest either. Like he said the only major difference comes not from us being great, but the quality in the opposition we played and of course Southampton are a promoted team who are probably going down. We play like this against any other team in the top half or a low block, we would struggle and something has to change in the way we approach games. Nevertheless there are positives to take, 3 goals clean sheet away from home. We go again.
