It's paradoxically easier to analyse a game if you aren't a fan of the club, as you can be objective (assuming you're not a fan of the most hated rivals, as then you're just as biased as a fan of the club themselves). Alice is like a German, being driven by her support for her own club, not hatred of other ones. So she can analyse Liverpool, Tottenham, Chelsea, Arsenal, Villa, without becoming petty, puerile, point scoring etc.

Some of the fan base have come out far too early on the Ange out. Painted themselves into a corner now hoping for a poor result to justify their position. Feel sorry for them. Agree the trolling on BJ has been disgraceful. He is playing for himself and Ange not the fans. Can’t share or enjoy his goals on the pitch. Shocking to see but totally justified. One result does not change the season good or bad at this early stage. But there are many reasons to be optimistic from this performance. Got to get a lot of confidence into the group. Can’t count on the fans to lift them. Will get more from the fans of other clubs. Great content Alice. COYS.

I completely agree with your statement about giving a manager a third season, unless it is obvious it's not working. Ange has signed a four year contract. In his first year he has had to dig deep to remove a broken plant and any dead wood and soil lying around by releasing a lot of players. Then, he's had to bring a fair amount of new compost in. He is starting from scratch and is now preparing the soil for the seed he will plant towards the end of this, his second season. So the third season is the one that is fair to judge the flower that he has created. So, for instance, Eric ten Hag is open to all flower critics from the stands and beyond for their judgement of his (this season's) blossom.

Hey 👋 Alice , Did you notice that Udogie played much more like a traditional LB instead of being inverted and therefore Son was able to operate in his natural position LHS ! People saying Ange doesn’t change are wrong 😑. He makes tweaks all the time. If we’re gonna play this high intense pressing every game Ange will have to rotate heavily for the cups. The players can do it for maximum 60 minutes cause it’s just so demanding.

Came on the pitch and did what he usually does back in the Starting XI, to be that wild card running around the pitch, be active and be prepared to apply some additional cover for our backline, midfield and front three. If there's some competition in order to fire their spirits up, Sarr would be one of them, for sure.
