I adore this breed! My wife and I have owned and used to breed English Bull Terriers for close to 40 years, and have never come across a vicious one. All have been confident, deeply loving and gentle in nature, and love both children and other dogs. No young child should be left unattended with any dog breed not just a bull terrier. For me the danger would be in the bull Terriers overly affectionate nature. Their heads are like anvil's and they can sometimes forget just how powerful they are, so an accidental head clash with a playful bull terrier will ultimately result in the human coming off worse, while the bully won't even notice. Of all the bullies that I've been privilaged to know, only four ever had to resort to an aggressive response, but on each occasion it was purely in self defence, they were never the aggressor. That of course is because each had been socialised from birth. Also, on each of those occasions the aggressor learned a valuable life lesson. If someone wants a true soul mate that will do everything in his or her power to entertain you and make you laugh out loud every day, the Bull Terrier could be the best friend you'll ever have. That is if keeping a bag of cement as a pet is appealing to you. Mike.

You have an interesting story I believe it 100% but I know one thing about The English Bull Terrier is many a other dogs and even much larger dogs have been killed by them.

Yeah I lost my girl Lexi to kidney failure in February this year she was only 4 years old 😢... I couldn’t cope so I recently decided to get another EBT and named him bullseye. I’m hoping he has a long healthy life with regular health checks

Ten years ago I took home a five year old brindle BT from a rescue that specialized in the breed. Just this December, I had to put him down since he had lymphoma. Goose’s quirks and quirkiness kept me sane those ten years, specially during the height of the Covid pandemic. Everything you said about BTs are true based on my experience living with Goose this past ten years. His recent passing is still too fresh to know if I’ll get another Bully. Maybe, but definitely another rescue.

I'm sorry to hear about your dog. Our pets become like family to us and provide us with their positivity and energy, but it can be tough when they're gone. Time will heal the pain. Hopefully, one day you'll consider getting another loyal four-legged companion.

Yes the bull terrier is a wonderful breed of dog.Even though a former pit fighter he is such a good family dog.You hardly ever hear of an English Bull terrier attacking its family members.So breeders have done a very good job breeding for a dog with such a good nature.

I grew up during the Spud Mckenzie ad days and always liked the look of the Bull Terrier. However I went with Hinks' other breed creation the Staffordshire Bull Terrier and I'm likely never leaving it.
