The kids who don’t play AYSO which is what you are referring to have the options to play club. I coach team in Los Angeles; however we lack the academy structure found in Latin America and Europe and capable coaches. We need to send American coaches to Brazil, Argentina, Germany and Spain and make the long term investment so that one day we can at least make a semifinal. Uruguay is fairly small but produced really good players and compete rather well.
