For a while in my marriage, my husband was the kind of husband I dreamt of, he did everything without being asked. Now he fell into addiction and does almost nothing. I keep looking back and realize that I hardly ever said anything encouraging or showed gratitude when everything was great. I always nagged and picked on the smallest things he did wrong. Now, I force myself to find at least something to thank him for.

His addiction is absolutely NOT your fault. Don't allow anyone to make you feel that you are responsible for their happiness. Each person is responsible for their OWN choices.

Thank you for this response. Although we are not responsible for our husbands addictions, we can choose if we will be a loving helper through their recovery or make recovery harder by discouraging them with our bad attitudes. I know the Lord will bless you for being kind and long-suffering. Keep your eyes on Jesus. ❤

Only 10 percent of married couples have a great marriage according to statistics. It requires two selfless individuals to continually GROW together for this to happen. There are no short cuts. Clearly defined agreed upon roles with regular and consistent verbal appreciation are a big part creating this environment in the home.

20:55 I appreciate the transparency.. 💭 I think sometimes because of abandonment & rejection issues we've experienced before, we can subconsciously sabotage our relationships trying to see how far we can push them before they snap / before they decide to leave us like the others, thus causing us to perpetuate the very toxic behaviours we hate.. 😬 Lord heal us & help us appreciate the blessings U have given us.. 🙏🏾 - @Acharich

That story about the double date was very powerful. When we compare we actually do not know the other persons reality. The other thing is: if I have a wrong heart, my husband will not be able to please me. It is so easy to see this in other women. But hard to see in ourselves. I know someone that fault finds a lot with her husband but honestly I think he does WAY more than a lot of husbands in terms of supporting her career and childcare...we have to be grateful for what we have. And also we have to pray first if there is sthg wrong rather than just going off on our husbands. It comes down to treat others including our husbands how we want to be treated. I don’t want my husband to fault find with me or compare me to other women...

I'm wondering how do wifes deal with burnout from investing, investing, investing, investing and never being invested in and feeling a lone and never pursued?
@NT-bz5nh3 жыл бұрын
Jesus is the only one who can fully make us whole and he will pursue us in ways our husbands fail to. But I do understand wanting and needing something in return from the husband after everything that’s poured into him. Loneliness in marriage is probably more common that we think.

What about when women are working out of the home and doing most of the house work and childcare. Women are exhausted
@thelordismyshepherd13662 жыл бұрын
Women need to learn to ask for help. First forgive, then bring your concerns and try to come up with a solution. It is actually a problem with a solution. You just have to detox from the negativity and resentment. That is the real issue.

There are a multitude of videos on men treating their wives with love and churches very little talk about the wife blessing her husband out of fear the wives in the audience will react like you did. We need more humility among us women. We can be so selfish. Your immediate thought was what about me???!!! Shows your heart.
