These up & coming games for Canada are the talent we want to play to get to the next level. All the small nations we play on the regular are not doing nothing for the growth of the sport.

Nothing because it’s a friendly. The way they play matters. Result does not

Ask the Dutch coach if it’s a “friendly” he literally said “it’s not a friendly this will be full pace and physical, it’s a warmup for Copa and euro”

If Canada can some how keep the score close , for example if Netherlands were to win 1-0 , I think it would be a good result. Its only a friendly & its the first game under Jesse Marsch so this match is about learning his style & strategy and practicing that style in a real game.

Wheels is bang on here. We'll learn a LOT in how Canada form up and approach the pressing/defense. For Canada to stay in this one they'll need to convert something early. Netherlands will likely be more in control the longer the match progresses. Gotta get a goal at least in this one. Two would be huge.

What I would like to know is whether there is unity within the ranks? Who were the ring leaders of all that dissent leading into Qatar and since? Have they left or are they now the leaders of this squad? I'd be happy with a 3-1 or 4-2 defeat. As you said, they need to start scoring.

@@djknox2 Kristian Jack has eluded to this before, saying that it was time for the voices that were loudest in the past years be replaced by the younger talent. He specifically mentioned the likes of Davies, David and Buchanan, being coached by some of the best coaches in the world, needing to have more of a voice in the squad. It's not hard to imagine that Borjan was a powerful/loud voice. KJ may well have been all too aware of how that influence was distracting form performances on the pitch. I certainly don't think Davies has earned his right to having a leadership voice, but I definitely think David will help the squad adopt Marsch's philosophy in short order. Have to imagine Eustaquio will be the same, and Hoilett is a true 'can do' man. I tend to think the group will adopt the philosophy fairly quickly.

@@greglawrence9230 Do you think it was guys like Borjan or Vitoria that was fanning the flames of rebellion against the CSA? Somehow that doesn't fit for me, but frankly I really don't know...

2 goals? No chance. I could see 1 on a counter, but the Dutch will have 65-70% possession.

@@greglawrence9230 I don't know.. I think you can't deny that Davies, along with a number of other guys on the squad, have enough experience at the club level in regards to elite level training, coaching, game play, tactics, etc. that they need to pass that on to Marsch and the other players. I think if the fabric of the team is open to this kind of leadership, then it could do amazing things for the team. Past leaders had experience, but not at the level of Davies, David, Eustaqiuo, Buchanan, and Larin, etc... We need to leverage that. The key is how those personalities and wisdom get incorporated into the team. It has to be done right.

the result is fantastic and i love it It is highly recommended and a MUST for Real Madrid management, board of directors, coaching staff, people working in their club who are involved on the transfer-market to permanently sell who are currently out on loan to play for another football club, do not offer a loan with buy back clause or with a number or percentage rights, recall or return players that are currently on-loan by another football club to play for Real Madrid, ageing ((28) years old and above), inconsistent (due to limited playing time, never have played and always on the bench, poor defensively, not performing well) regardless of age, injury prone, those who are not comfortable playing in different position, that MUST happen on or before July 2027. We are referring to Modric, Vasquez, Daniel Carvajal Ramos "Dani Carvajal", Courtois, Alaba, Rudiger, Mendy, Daniel Ceballos Fernández "Dani Ceballos" Jesús Vallejo Lázaro "Jesus Vallejo", Francisco José García Torres "Fran Garcia", Diaz, Juan Miguel Latasa Fernández "Juanmi Latasa", Reinier Jesus Carvalho "Reinier", Nicolás "Nico" Paz Martínez, & Guler. Confirmed leaving Real Madrid as some will no longer renew, and a few getting sold permanently with a buy back clause on or before September 2024: Rafael Marín Zamora "Rafa Marin", Kroos, José Ignacio Fernández Iglesias "Nacho", José Luis Mato Sanmartín "Joselu", and Arrizabalaga. Once they get sold these are the players should be sign based on their positions on or before July 2027. Right Back: Jesus Fortea, Malo Gusto Left Back: Alphonso Davies, Miguel Gutierrez Centre Back: William Saliba, Leny Yoro, Dean Huijsen Centre or Attacking Midfield: Florian Wirtz, Franco Mastantuono Lastly Real Madrid must never offer a contract to these players for a RIGHT BACK position, that are inconsistent regardless of age, poor defensively, has disadvantage of height and strength (lacks muscles), proven already that unable to stop wingers/strikers in different leagues, injury-prone, has beyond 60 million euro's transfer-market value, and ageing 27 years old and above, and turning 27 years old and above on year 2027. We are referring to Darmian, Walker, Trippier, Di Lorenzo, Cancelo, Dumfries, Calabria, White, Mazraoui, Ryerson, Wan-Bissaka, Molina, Alexander-Arnold, Hakimi, Tomiyasu, Royal, Dalot, Porro, James, Boey, Frimpong, Couto, Livramento, Terracciano, Bradley, Sanchez, Lewis, Fresneda, Gray, & Lima.

Although i agree that Canada's defense has the weaker players, I think it's time for us to hold the offensive line to account. So my expectations is for Canada to score 2 goals. If they lose, fine, but it's time for all these talented attacking players to start producing. We can't expect to win against top nations with scoring only 1 goal. Teams built around a strong defense, such as Italian teams of old, can get by with one goal. Time for David, Buchanan et al to start scoring against strong opposition.

I agree. Getting goals is essential to the confidence of the group. Worst case scenario is no goals against Netherlands, France or Argentina. That would be a disaster. The lack of a goal against Belgium was what sealed their fate in the WC. Losses in these first three gaames are expected, but no way can this batch of talent not get any goals in those games and maintain the confidence needed to get results against Peru and Chile.

National team coaching is different from club soccer coaching. Wishing coach Jesse all the best in this friendly matches , preparing for the copa America . My advice to Coach Jesse is to let the players play simple, don’t make to many mistakes, be patience , shot the soccer ball on target to test the goalkeeper , the defenders should defend as a unit in a way that when a defend is off his position the other defenders should cover up their position. The goalkeeper should also communicate well with the defenders because as a goalie you are able to see the defenders errors and the defenders should listen to the goalkeeper during the duration of the game. Europeans soccer or football as the Europeans play on a fast pace and quick counter attack. There must be cohesion between the defensive midfielder’s, and defenders. Who ever gets the nod to be selected as a striker should be at the right place at the right time , shot the soccer ball on target, shot carling and placing the soccer ball always beat goalkeepers. If the goal keeper is tall , placing the ball down is better , if the goalkeeper is a left handed goalkeeper the striker should put the soccer ball on his right side , if the goalkeeper is a right handed the striker should put the soccer ball on his left side . The creative midfielder in terms of the offensive midfielders should play simple and support the defenders when there is a quick counter attack by the opponent. Coach Jesse should use an information that will not let the opponent expose the weakness of the Canadian soccer defensive. His assistant coach should study the game during the play and let coach Jesse know how to make tactical changes and also when to make a change. European football as it’s known in Europe play on a quicker counter attack, they are very great with their aerial abilities , free kicks and, corner kicks . When they are playing quicker or fast pace he should let the players be patience, they should not tackle from behind, slow the game when they are high pressing . The forward lines that will be selected should not be selfish . When there is a goal scoring opponent and their team mate is unmarked and have the opportunity to score the one with the ball should pass the ball for him to score.
@keitakankam8562
@keitakankam8562 3 ай бұрын
Coach Jesse should work on the recovering rate , stamina level and set pieces such as corner kicks, throw in and free kicks how they will defend well and also the Canadian men soccer defenders who ever gets the nod to defend should not make unnecessary fouls in their own half and also give the ball away cheaply otherwise it will result in a quicker counter attack that will result in a goal. The players should relax when they have possession and should play and defend as a unit .
