Hah! DnD caused much controversy in Alabama in the 80's amongst both the Baptists and the Catholics! Still managed to play with an excellent group at school. We had a teacher with a sense of humor and a willingness to defy The Man. Very good times in spite of it all.

I have to give my apologies to the Satanists. For a while even after becoming an Atheist, I thought Satanists were even bigger idiots than the Christians I'd worked my way out of being, thinking you guys were worshiping an absolutely terrible, immoral monster. Then I eventually listened to one of Seth's earlier videos about Satanism with Lucien and realized you were just, as I put it, Halloween-Town/theatrical atheists. Then later on I found out that Satan in the bible really doesn't do anything evil, aside from when God made a bet with him to torment Job, which is still an incredibly low bar compared to God's kill-count. I wouldn't consider joining myself, but I commend the organization for helping to challenge the constant religious infringements in our country.

I would consider joining if it would help a cause. Like when they do religious handouts the only way to get them to stop at times is to use satanism as a reason. If you can hand out pamphlets to children on religion so can satanists....that hits harder than anything pure atheist can put up. They did some good work on statues to build next to 10 commandment monuments as well

I'm not a Satanist but so far Lucien intrigues me. I am magnetized by his looks, his calm demeanor and his intellect. My former lover and still friends to this day, looks exactly like him; but as a Hispanic version of Lucien. They both look alike, sound alike, both intellectuals and I'm not joking they are doppelgangers!!! I grew up as a Christian but a confused one and still seeking answers. I grew up fearing anything to do with Satanism, as other Christians have made Satan as an evil paranormal entity. Hahahaha. I adore the theories of TST and recently joined. Shortly after I went on a magic mushroom trip and ended up seeing the Christian Satan and then it turned into the TST Satan and I quickly went from panicked about my soul to a realization that my soul and my body are mine alone. I haven't really believed in the church's bedtime stories in so long that when I looked back at the same symbology that held me in such a rigid structure of masculinity and false morals. I feel like the satanic symbology is NEEDED because the moment when I found peace in "Satan", is the truest moment of freedom I've experienced. Almost as truly free as the moment before I was sure I was dead. I had ridden a motorcycle off a cliff at night, fell 40ft into a tree and broke my leg in 4 places. As I was falling, I knew for a fact(obviously incorrectly) that my life was over and I was going to die. In that moment I found peace. There was no panic. There was hope, but not stress. And I didn't tense. I went without fear and that may have saved my life. My parents always attributed my living to God, but I always said it was the god of Chaos and disorder.

Growing up one thing I remember is being told that if I looked at supernatural movies I’d be inviting demons in. So when movie previews came on TV I would avert my eyes and literally panic to find the remote to turn the channel. I mean like I’ve fallen trying to dive for the remote. Preach. I didn't lose my faith until my mid 20s, but I decided that the doctrine of eternal hell was complete bullshit in my early teens. Everything about it is so wrong that I don't even know where to start. It's creepy watching people like my family, who I still view as decent and caring people despite their faith, actually try to defend the idea of eternal hell as some sort of divine justice. I don't think a lot of people have actually sat down, as I have, and honestly thought about the agony of the damned. When I was 8 years old, I was convinced that I had blasphemed the holy spirit and could never be forgiven. My despair and terror can't be put into words. Eight fucking years old and all I can think about is how I'm gonna die and burn in a fiery pit surrounded by demons with no escape and no end date. That's why I describe myself as an anti-theist now. Religion is not neutral, a thing that works for some people and not for others. We can't live and let live in this instance, because the entire idea of religion is inherently evil. It's child abuse, plain and simple.

No I don't think I will. I have read the Koran, it is no more compelling than the bible. And would cause as much strife with my family as atheism or Satanism. As far as my personal life goes I'm doing quite fine, maybe ask next time instead of assuming.
