I just started crying so hard making a pb&j because I hadn't had one in so long and it reminded me that my dad used to make me one for lunch everyday while I went through grade school and I made it using homemade jam my grandma sent me across the country for my birthday. It took me so long to realize how much value these things have and that I'm so immensely loved. I know this is so random but I wanted to tell someone and this just feels like such a safe space

@maryannamae3 жыл бұрын
@@freshliving4199 I met people who committed the same crimes as my abuser through internships in prisons. I realized that there is not a separate class of people who commit crimes and do bad things, but one whole humanity who is filled with people who do good things as well as bad things. The people in our lives we love are also capable of evil things, and everyone knows people like that. seeing offenders' humanity was most transformative for me.

In the interest of empowering people with sexual trauma and those who are close to people with trauma, I recommend the Shameless Sex podcast. If it’s physical trauma, check the recent episode with Dr. Nicole Eisenbrown. It may help whether you are a man or woman, but there is some very useful stuff in there especially for women. I know sexual trauma is not the theme of the video, but it’s a theme on the channel. Hoping Hitomi keeps hitting dealing with all types of trauma, growth and healing from all angles. Very few things are more needed in the world. This has always been true. Hopefully people like her will change the future.
