To anyone reading this feeling overwhelmed by exams, as a college senior majoring in math, I’ve definitely been in the situation where I’ve studied for days and then shed a tear during an exam when I have no idea how to do a question. But don’t beat yourself up, failed exams build character, and you will still make it. Breath. You got this :)

Someone can do a task in 10 minutes and someone else can do the same task in an hour. while time management skills can help, sometimes it’s really comes down to having no time. As a slower person I can’t just put the same amount of time as everyone else and expect the same outcome as everyone else.
@saramahmoud85944 жыл бұрын
As a professional nighter (unfortunately) I joke all the time about not sleeping. But I do that, because if not I woud cry all day because I know my time manegment skills are depressingly bad. But I am now trying to change that, and stop normalizing that type of behaviour.

I feel like crying. I'm so stressed. Classes started... a month? Two months? ago and I was on top of things. But now I'm so so behind it's horrible. I don't know how to catch up. I'm taking six subjects and I mean it when I say I am behind on all of them.
@aishwarya87164 жыл бұрын
I think you should think about the subjects u have the most trouble with or are the most behind in. Try and divide your free time after school and other activities to try and study/catch up with whatever u need to do, but make sure ur doing it in reasonable increments. By this I mean don’t force yourself to study for 2-3 hours straight to cram/finish material. Instead I would recommend 30-35 minute increments and take a short break between them (about 5-10 mins). Once you feel some progress and satisfaction from the work you’ve done, start working on ur other subjects that maybe ur not as behind in, and try and get those up to date so u can spend more time on the more harder subjects for u! I hope this helped ❤️! Also good luck!
@user-ov2bx5dq5e4 жыл бұрын
Starting school is always stressful/nerve-racking. Especially if you’re doing online school. Try setting reasonable academic goals for yourself. If you can’t accomplish all of them, thats okay! Yes, it’s going to be stressful for some time but, always do the best you can! Also, working hard pays off!
@minkim1554 жыл бұрын
I experience this for my previous semester. I was busy working on projects and assignments that I have problem to catch up on subjects. I stressed a lot but I did my best. Usually my lecturers told us on topics that will be asked the most in exam so I give more attention on these topics but make sure to study other topics too. Also study maybe around 30-45 minutes and have some break in between. Do your best!

Just in case anyone needs a summary to refer back to: 1/2 weeks before: make list of everything you need to know and what you need to overview. Assign days to the tasks. Ask questions! Note down your problems and clarify them as you go along from professors, study groups etc. Stick to regular sleep schedule to avoid the groggy feeling. Night before: leave these nights relatively empty. Don’t do super hard problems the day before. Just review what you struggled with throughout the study process. DO NOT PULL ALL NIGHTERS. Carb loading: your brain needs glucose so eat well. Don’t overdo it so you don’t get queasy during the test. Prepare things that you will need for the test before the test day. E.g stationery supplies Test day: warm up. Either mentally or physically. Use relaxation techniques e.g deep breathing etc. Remember you are prepared and that you have worked hard!

Apps for focus, concentration, and getting off your phone: Flora, Forest, Pocket Points. These apps reward you for the time you're off your phone. Flora and Forest plant cute trees and plants. Pocket Pocket points gives you coupons for food, clothes, and more. I usually use these apps for a Pomodoro technique. Setting screen time is also a good way to remove distractions and improve productivity. Cold Turkey is great because you can block certain websites that distract you during your set time period (KZbin, Instagram, Tumblr, etc.). Apps for Planning (keep in mind they are on your phone, so you're more prone for distractions): Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Office Calendar, My Study Life, My Homework. These apps are great for planning. Notion is a great website. You can use it for note taking, planning, or jolting down distracting thoughts to get it out of your system. Here is a template my friend introduced me to: www.notion.so/UNIVERSITY-WORKSPACE-Template-69157a5820564a01a9d652581029b47c Hope this helps.
