Thank you Margie and Dr. McCormick. The summit and podcasts are amazing and so helpful. I plan to get both books to help with my journey and will share with my functional doctor who is helping me with my root causes. My Primary Doctor feels I should take Fosamax medicine for 5 years and reevaluate. I am not taking any meds right now. DXA was -2.8 four years ago and -2.5 2 years ago. I’m working hard to improve overall health and my bones. Thank you.

These books are my guide in my journey towards better bones. I have severe osteoporosis and I have some clarity of which way to go with the help of this. Showed it to my endocrinologist, she's getting it as a reference book. Thank you Dr. Mc Cormick for this very comprehensive book on osteoporosis ❤

Thank you for sharing. I am so happy to hear about your endocrinologist. That was one of Dr. McCormick’s goals - to do the research and educate the medical community. Good luck on your journey to stronger bones!

I have taken 3 prolia. Now after knowing the real fact, I want to exit from Prolia. I eat healthy, do exercise. Is possible to quit? I am really worried.

Wow! This is the best video I've seen for people who have been on Prolia longer than they'd like to be. I've got RA, and was put on prolia while I was still in my 40s. Seven years later, I'm still on it, and my doctor is not concerned about having me on Prolia forever. I discovered Dr McCormick and his book Great Bones last year when I had to take high-dose steroids. I'm off the steroids, and next I'm trying to see if I can go off the Prolia. I've got Dr. McCormick's book and I've seen dozens of other videos and read dozens of articles about osteoporosis, drugs to treat it and tests to test it. Being on Prolia for seven years and trying to get off it seemed like a small niche before, so there were lots of conversations about similar but not the same topics, but this video answers that question very concretely in the first few minutes. Thank you! I have the info I need to talk to my doctor now. I hope he listens.

That's very interesting, thank you. I was told by my rheumatologist yesterday that the increase in my TBS score over 14 months was not of any significance. My DEXA had deteriorated by 4.9% in that timeframe. Hormones were not an option and I should take bisphosphonates or "the tension between her and I" won't improve!!

Thanks for posting this. It's very useful, however, it would have been helpful to mention the ages of the the people who sent in questions. The answers might have been qualified by the approach based on age. My mother is over 90 and was given Prolia about a year ago. They (UK NHS) haven't mentioned ever coming off it, or changing meds so, we assume they expect her to stay on it indefinitely.

In the country I'm in (Japan), the CTX test is not available. However, a different test of bone resorption (TRACP-5b, "Serum Tartrate-resistant Acid Phosphatase-5b") is. Since American research seems to talk about CTX exclusively, Unfortunately TRACP-5b is not listed among the Bone Turnover Markers (BTMs) in Dr. McCormick's book (Chapter 6, page 144, Fig 6.4). Given that all discussions use CTX numbers (I now know the difference between a CTX of 350 and one of 200 or 600) is there some way to convert TRACP-5b to CTX and vice-versa? That would make tracking what's going on in my bones much easier.

If medication stops osteolclasts from dissolving bone that is bad, and then you allow the osteoblasts to continue to laydown new bone, won't that be very dangerous? The new bone is layed down over weaken or bad bones that were not removed y the osteoclasts. So, a fracture is probably insured. You wouldn't put on a new deck over a rotten base. Isn't that what these medicines do?

I had my first prolia injection Dec2022 per an orthopedic doctor's prescription (tscore -2.7 spine),, after that I did some researches, I decided at my appointment for second injection (May2023) to stop. My Obgen doctor prescribed Celvista Ive been taking it up until now, not sure how much it would help. Ive been exercising constantly, not so much supplement, I will be taking bone density test next week.
