My understanding is that regarding HCA/Care Worker, some places will not hire you because you are male. Men and women are in high demand for most employers, whether it is the mental health or care homes you are applying to. However, depending on the demography of the patients/clients you will be working with, your employer might prefer to employ more male than females or vice versa.

Mental health support training varies depending on where you choose to work. The training is also usually delivered/taught to you by your employer.

Hello. I would like to become a mental health carer but I am afraid that the patients may become aggressive for no reason or unruly, and this scares me that they may hurt me physically. Is there a training or something how to prevent these things to happen and to keep employees safe? And what is the percentage of these patients I am talking about? P.S. I am asking that because while I was walking on the street one man of nowhere tried to hit me, while I was passing near him. I know he had some kind of mental issues but it was stressful. Sorry for the long question.

There will be various training before you get on a psychiatrist ward so there's nothing to fear. If this is your passion and you want to pursue it you need to prepare for any eventually. If you're ever in need of back up or assistance just call for help. Your colleagues will be there to help.

It's the same as what you will do in a Mental health hospital... So you'll have to offer emotional support, Observe them Monitor their progress over time Document your observations Accompany them out on occasions Encourage/assist with/prompt them to take their medication Assist with day to day functions (which can include personal care in some cases) Etc...
