Go down past parallel (quads parallel to floor) with good form. You'll get a muscle imbalance if you squat above parallel, which causes knee pain. If you can't do it, stretch your hamstrings, hip flexors, and something devin didn't talk about in the video hip adductors and hip abductors. They're incredibly crucial to squatting with good form.
@MikeLoveThyself7 жыл бұрын
zaxx29 yea your right I think it's all about your hips
@BrokeMalone7 жыл бұрын
yeah i tore my hip flexor in football so ever sense then i have tight hips... so when i squat my knees tend to overcompensate for my tight hips, which leads to knee tendinitis quick af that gets worse the longer i lift legs.... So i guess im kinda biased causse i got fucked up flexibility in my hips/core

great video. Glad you show healthy eating as an aid to your recovery. you should also try getting routine Chiropractic Care. Your Brain and Spine coordinate and control everything. when we have poor biomechanics over time our body has to overcompensate . same with chemical stress from eating bad. all of that plays a role on how you body will perform and recover properly. keep healing and get adjusted too.

@ronigorani68477 жыл бұрын
J Dawg jumping rope for the calves, squats/lifting and high steps for the quadriceps
@jordanpeel75877 жыл бұрын
There are different approaches to working those muscles....for example, if you wanna bulk up those leg muscles, you should be doing squats at your maximum effort with less reps.... If you want to build explosive power then, you should be doing jump squats with really light weight... Train explosively in any workout you do...

I think one of the keys to a good euro step - at least mentally - is willingness to create contact. I think you almost have to be looking for contact, when you take the first side step. If there's enough room continue in the direction of the first step and bump them through second step, but if they completely cut you off take the second step in the other direction. Notice that Harden loves to create contact on his steps. And I don't see the first step as just a "sell" or a fake. Good fakes work in general because they are actually viable options.

By no means an expert on it either, but this is kind of how it was explained to me. Tendinitis occurs when, as Dev has pointed out, your muscles are too weak to hold the load/do the work. What will happen is your body will rely on the elastic properties of the tendons and eventually like when you over stretch/over-tax an elastic band you'll start getting minor tears and such in the tendons. keep banging on and you'll just build up scar tissue and your tendons aren't clean and elastic. Basically all jacked up. On top of that, when you have no muscle to hold the load of you coming down (from verts etc.) and the tendons are shot, the cartilage in your knees and joints will take a beating. etc etc, then you get bum knees. So when physios and docs suggest rest... best rest.

another great video. btw, I can see you're wearing adidas; I would recommend you try out shoes with a wider toe box and that are considered something close to Zero Drop. And for casual wear or softer surfaces, barefoot shoes. That should help a ton with your foot muscles and recovery. Also, I can see that you're buying a lot of healthy food which is great. I would recommend jumping the vegan bandwagon that a lot of NBA players are starting to catch onto. Animal products are acidic in our body and overtime that acidity is going to affect your muscles and their protective qualities. That sand running looks fun :D

when i start doing squats, when i bend my knee, i feel some pain and/or soreness in between my kneecap and the rest of my knee. this only happens when i work out, but not anything else. is it just a lack of working out? help me out
@ihoop40177 жыл бұрын
its probably too much weight your doing. Since you dont experience it with anything else, the weight could be too much for your core or lower back to handle so the pain transfers to the weaker muscle which could be in your right knee. Look up tutorials for how to squat properly and start by doing body weight squats and slowly move your way up.

@ihoop40177 жыл бұрын
squat is not an easy exercise. it takes all your muscles to work together from your core, lower back, quads, hips, knees, ankles. If one muscle is weak it will affect the whole motion. Start with smaller stuff like lunges and other compound movements to strengthen those muscles. If it hurts doing body weight then you are doing it wrong or have a health issue you should check with a doctor
@OSCAR-uv9bw5 жыл бұрын
Some opinions: -You missed DW's euro step , which is the premium ; -Russel really has the groove, 7:08 , he dribbles with his left hand , then suddenly to his right pretending he's going right , then, Boom , pick the ball , to the left , classic euro step; -Harden's euro step is just ok , you see , every-time he has to face the defense when he puts the ball up in the air and tries to get a lay up , because his move(at least his euro) is not that effective & clean, and the defense is STILL there ;
