Amen to that. I main GS and CB, and while I can get close to my Greatsword damage numbers with it, it's so much more difficult to use. That's not to say Greatsword is simple, though. It's just that if I don't know a monster, Charge blade is the safer weapon.

Funny thing I started with the Insect Glaive because, I like jumping on the monster's back. Recently beat the game and slew Xeno and I realized what drew it too me though. Love Insect Glaive, a lot of people are saying because of "style" and "masters of air" but I simply enjoy IG for the sheer utility of being able to easily do mounts but the real prize are the nectar buffs. You deal higher damage with red, you have higher mobility than other light weapons when white nectar buff is up plus the extra nock back resistance with orange is very useful. The other bonus is that if you're good at targeting you can actually use your kinsect to do knockout damage. The IG is such a powerful well rounded weapon if people will properly use all it's features.

I mained IG back in 4U, and for my first go-around in world (took a break from it in gen for SnS and CB), and it's definitely a fun weapon with even more potential in world, though I do want to say that, oddly enough, I've had more success mounting monsters using the lance (one of my three "main" weapons on pc) than I did with insect glaive (and while I tried to split my time with IG in the air and on the ground to get more dps while still maintaining mobility and safety/not knocking teammates around, I still was doing way more aerial attacks. Seems RNG just favors me when I'm the pokey-stick)

Your bread and butter should be RT-RT-RT-B-B-B(R2-R2-R2-O-O-O), spamming B(O) until you run out of stamina or just before the target moves, finishing with Y+B(🜂+O). Wait for your Stamina to recharge, and repeat. My apologies for PC players, I don't know the button mappings.

So I picked up the Sword and Shield and now I get to do EVERYTHING: cut off tails, smash off horns, mount better than an IG main and toss powders to buff my team. I am now a SnS main.

I main HH, and have gunlance in the backburner, can say they really upped their game with HH. I like that I can store 3 songs on my HH and playing the music actually does damage. Can't say I am a huge fan of the slowness of the attack animations but I can say they didn't disappoint me with the new way of playing songs for buffs/possible damage, such as the sonic waves song that certain HH have. The only problem I can ever say with HH is that the sharpness goes down waaaay too quickly. In fact I found it hard to actually kill monsters with the low rank stuff just because my attacks kept bouncing after the sharpness was gone after 6 hits. And I've mained HH since Freedom. So no, it's definitely not me.

As an Insect Glaive convert from the long sword, all the jumping around isn't as OP as people might think it is... lol, it was hilarious to realize that when Lunastra was released, her nova that sweeps the ground, it kills a bunch of other classes in almost one go, but you can jump it pretty easy with the Glaive, and then just kinda jump out of it's radius after a bit of damage. It was awesome.

Charge blade is the best! Red fully charged shield and sword is godly. And it’s super easy to get the phials with certain combos and guard points. So you always have best defense and offense. Just time your attacks right since you don’t want to waste your phials and evade/block or guard point at right times. And don’t stay at axe mode for long since you gotta charge those phials and then unleash the axe.

I am a light bowgun main. You can stack wyvernblast after wyvernblast and have the monster attack the wyvernblast landmines. The best thing is you don't have to collect multiple weapons because you have the elemental ammo. So LBG users probably don't have a big collection of bowguns, as said in the video.
