You (What Car?) deserve a price for testing the Premium version of the GV60! All other reviews I have seen tested the Sport Plus (Performance) version and that one is pricey. My comments as an owner are: The standard leatherette darkgrey-glacierwhite also looks very nice and classy. Saves some pennies, easier to maintain and less cold in winter I think. You did not mention the surround camera in the innovation pack. But I think this is the most valuable option. The car is wide and has a bigger turning circle. The surround camera helps with parking and could prevent some scratches. You made a good choice of SUV car of the year!
@gertsy2000 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the review. FYI you don't have to get back in the car and turn it off to unlock the back doors. Believe it or not you just have to press the door 'unlock' button on the driver side door. The door lock feature is a standard Genesis safety feature where the doors lock once you hit set speed, 9mph(15km/h) I think. You can turn it off in settings, or set it to Auto Unlock on Shift to Park, if that's what you like. Like all reviewers if you are going to criticise a perceived issue you really need to understand it and research it just a bit; Least you lose credibility. The driving range on the GV60 is a little below the range on the EV6 because the base GV60 is 100-300kg heavier depending on the EV6 model. You'll also find that Genesis, Hyundai, and Kia do not overstate their EV ranges and that they are quite conservative, at least in countries with sane temperatures, unlike other brands.

We have one of these and although it’s a nice car the support from Genesis simply isn’t there. We had to call their recovery service - outsourced to AA. Their first response on the phone was “what’s a Genesis?”. The work required the car to be taken by a diesel trailer 260 miles away to their single service centre in Bicester, Although the car is pretty much identical underneath to the Kia EV6 and Ioniq 5, Kia and Hyundai dealers can’t work on it (although they do in the US I think) even though taking to a local dealer would be much more environmentally friendly. And it’s going to take over a week just to be told when the parts will be available. They simply don’t seem to have the infrastructure or logistics in place for this car.

I get his gripe about the doors being locked without hitting the stop button, but after test driving this car to me it’s actually a safety feature (that I commented to my passenger about). If you are sitting in a parking lot etc after driving this car and the car then thinks you want out, all four door handles go into the “flared out” unlocked position. This is easily seen my people on the outside of the car. Someone could see this and take advantage of the situation and get into your car.

Locked rear doors - for awareness as I found out the hard way when collecting some friends. The doors auto lock when you set off (you can disable this) - I remember my old Citroen C6 also did this. You can unlock without turning the car off by a lock/unlock pair of switches on the drivers doors bin front of the windows controls. Also found out the car must be in neutral or park to open the boot, you can't pull up, leave the car in drive while using auto-hold. Also worth noting 5 years free servicing, 5 years subsidised Ionity (just 1 year with the I5 and EV6) and 5 years free road side assist.

I like the look of this. Saw a matt dark grey one a month ago that didn't impress me especially when apparently the matt finish needs special care when washing . I was looking at the GV60 compared to a MY. Thats a much tougher comparison now given the Tesla price drop plus of course full access to the SC network. If I spent what this cost (when i priced one it was very high 60's IIRC and youve said its gone up???) I'd be miffed trying to charge on a single CCS charger somewhere with several queuing and a bay of 16 SC chargers next door only half full. I didn't buy a MY either because of the removal of ultrasonic parking sensors so I'm currently stuck. First world problems.

Especially love the interior with the light brown/white leather. If you want one in Canada, however, you have to wait 2yrs+. The excuses may be valid, but that's the reality now. Give them $80k CDN, and hope battery tech doesn't totally evolve before yours is delivered, lest your investment be obsolete.

@@melaniepilkington5269 Good to know! I was iterating between it and an Ioniq5, but the GV60 is just so much nicer. I keep wondering if I wait another year, the range will improve. I can live with the range it has, I just see it as the only 'con' to this model. I only get about 500kms per 60L tank of gas in my '16 Subaru WRX. I'd be be interested to know how your GV60 does in snow (we get lots of it here on the east coast), and how long it takes to charge it. I'm in an apt building with no chargers so I'd have to make a special trip just to charge it once or twice a week. It takes about 10 mins to pump & pay for 60L of gas, so I don't mind waiting the reported 18 mins (ideal, max charge rate from 20-80%). After 30mins or so it'd become a bit annoying but I'm not THAT lazy. If you have any comments on how things are with your GV60 this winter, I'd be happy to hear about them.
