The actor who plays Rainier, is from Battlestar Galactica. He was a Cylon.

You missed the Easter egg where burnam says “it’s been a long road” which I thought was an intentional reference to the worst Star Trek theme song ever

The thing I liked the most about this episode is that it has already started Rainer's character development towards being more respectful towards his crew. I was hoping that would start right away and not take until the end of the season.

Mr. Reiner was in the Battlestar Galactic 2003 reboot, as one of the human Cylons. He is a great actor!

I loved the Calypso Short Trek (and Aldis Hodge) but I think you're right and if Disco succeeds in finding the Progenitors technology I don't think the Calypso episode will play out. I really like this episode a lot but I am a sucker for any Time Travel episode. I know I am a minority in that I like Discovery - yes some plot lines and episodes are not great - but I am re-watching from Season 1 and I like it even more now. Good break down.

Didn’t Zora say Starfleet saved them, but it was too late so she may not have known how.

Thanks for covering and I’m sorry folks have, like me, lost interest in Disco. I stopped watching faithfully when the future turned out so bleak. That storyline culminated in the laughable cause of the burn. And I was pretty much done at that point. I ❤ SNW though. And I revisit the first two seasons of Disco every now and then.

Completely agree about the chronic issues with shoddy writing. Some episodes and scenes are epic but there's been way too many stinkers. How did the Timebug get past the bio- and other filters that should've caught it when Adira transported back to the ship? I guess we'll never know.

I was very excited to see Bryce again!! I agree with your theory of this being a re-shoot episode.

My understanding was that nobody solved the Time Bug problem in the potential future. It just ran out of juice after a few months.

The only time I saw him at all was when he was on the ground unconscious after the Discovery went to the 32nd century. That could have been a stand in actor.

Yeah, I don't see how any time jumps Leads to the Calypso scenario. Zora was told to stay in the nebula. In the scene Zora is in ruin, and the Capt is dead. The ship is in no position to travel to the nebula.

My question for this episode is: How did Moll and Lak get the technology if two of the pieces were trapped in time on the Discovery. It was established early on that they did not have the first piece, just the mistaken clue for where the next one was.

I have to think about your criticism over not asking how they were saved as my thinking is that it was probably the same exact way just not in time. It wasn’t a matter of how but a matter of when. Idk, I must be missing something. Guess you’re saying they were saved another way(not sure there could be another way?)
@WhatDidIMiss8 ай бұрын
I was saying that at that moment, Burnham and Raynor should have asked Zora how they were saved. So they could just do that and not have to figure it out. It took them 6 hours in universe to solve the time bug issue, but if they knew the answer when they met Zora in the future it would have been less time. Does that make sense or am I making it more confusing, lol?
@mattyboyb5238 ай бұрын
@@WhatDidIMiss ahh yes I see what you’re saying. That would’ve sped things up a bit lol. I guess it’s a matter of there being multiple ways to solve the issue. There must’ve been. Time travel, always gets more confusing the more you think about it

Didn’t bug me at all that she didn’t ask. They came up with a plan and Zora was able to help.

The one thing I was thinking was a bit of a plot hole would be the fact that the crew on the bridge did see Burnham in her captains uniform and did concede that she was from the future so wouldn’t that have some effects on things moving forward from that point in time since the group of crew(including Tilly) all know that she becomes captain. There are many events since that time up to the present point in time that Burnham’s very existence is in question…. I would think that now that they know she does ok and succeeds in advancing and moving up the ladder so to speak would screw up time lines(idk maybe I’m watching too many episodes of Loki, lol)

As I understand it once the bug is destroyed it erases any minor changes made by the encounters especially if it’s fixed within one cycle.

That is say that essentially means that those encounters never happened…

I Don't remember S3 of Picard having time travel. As for who's done the most time travel episodes, I would expect one of the 90s show to come out on top

Elementary Temporal mechanics. Asking a question like that can create a paradox which could be vaporize their timelines. Hence they did not and could not ask that question.

I really enjoy DISCOVERY. GREAT RELATIONSHIPS. THIS STORYLINE IS MORE OF A THRILLER, VERY MUCH A PUZZLE TO BE SOLVED. A GREAT RIDE. TIME TRAVEL IS PART OF STAR TREK SINCE THE ENTERPRISE HAD TO FIND WHALES
@yahozak8 ай бұрын
Since time travel is so prevalent in the ST universe, wouldn't / shouldn't people, especially Starfleet personnel, be way more accustomed to seeing ppl who claim to be from the future / past? And from there, assist them accordingly.. (Unless they come from a bad / harmful timeline like the Mirror universe) Especially for the 32nd Century, which already saw the Temporal Cold War, you'd think that they'd have a protocol to scan / verify / prove to others if someone time jumped.. would reduce the story's dramatic tension, but it'd make more sense..
@GalaxyWhimsy8 ай бұрын
I think the big criticism you have with not asking Zora "how did the crew save us?" when she had just said "they saved you but too late" is a bit of an off criticism. Its like having a talking oven and it tells you "the cake burned bc you took too long" and asking "well what was I doing?" Like in the context it doesnt matter what you were doing what matters is that you took too long. Be faster.🤷♀️🤣
@WhatDidIMiss8 ай бұрын
But even using that logic, wouldn't finding out the answer sooner producer a sooner result i.e. they would not take 6 hours to solve the issue?
