I've spoken to Chris (via email) and I have to say he is one of the nicest, most down-to-arth people you'll ever meet. He really doesn't act like he's famous, or anything. Kick Ass Moves is the most seen BBC show that was distributed to a World-wide audience, and still he's the humblest guy. I'm forever in his corner 8)

The thing is tho, he doesnt claim to be the worlds greatest, hes just a martial artist. The very nature of doing TV shows means that whatever you see to some aspect its gunna be set up. Just enjoy his shows for what they are, entertaining about martial arts. I love martial arts been doing it for years i personally like chris, hes just an ordinary bloke showing the lay person about this wonderful art form

You have to admit this guy is pretty good. I fought for a few years and became pretty good at it. As long as I was relaxed and thinking, I did pretty well. I had about 5yrs of training from wrestling/boxing, to karate. I wasn't the best, but I could kick some ass. In two of the only real fights I was in, I took out one guy much bigger than me. He couldn't throw a punch, and was salivating to kill me. He hit me once, I got him to the ground and pounded his face in with an elbow and four shots.

Crudelli is a very good martial artist, and you dont always get jump by a true martial artist mainly punks. The fastest draw is when the sword never leaves the scabbard, The strongest way to block, is never to provoke a blow, And the cleanest cut is the one withheld

Crudelli knows what's coming, yes. But the attacks are made with realistic energy. That makes this demonstration look more real (but it's not). This is for entertainment purposes. The problem is that many people think that real life self-defense works like this. Still, his skills in the martial arts are great. I enjoyed his TV-series.

MMA fighter me here...MMA fighter me there....martial arts are designed for DEFENSE against the common man..making sure that you are better than him when he attacks you. its not designed several 100years ago to get ready for MMA fighters. You practise martial art to gain an edge against your opponent...if you size an opponent up to be much better than you...you turn around...and F***ing run. that may seem cowardly..but it keeps you alive..thats the essence of martial arts... staying alive...

Gotta love MMA. My mom would scream and my bro and I when we'd come home with a black eye and cuts on our arms, faces, and legs. We had a blast training. We trained with just about every discipline you can think of. Now I'm older and out of practice. I'd be scared shitless to go against one of these guys.

Fedor is a freak of nature. But in order to be a good fighter, you have to be calm, trained, and ready. Most people fight like crap, but if you're calm and know what you're doing, you'll kick ass like this guy. I agree with your comment. You don't have to be Fedor, but man, that sure helps!

Back in the early years of MMA (UFC 1 to 15) it was very different; it was about -- what is the most effective martial art - tournament style. High credential traditional MAs of all kinds- karate, kungfu, taekwondo, etc (considered the best in their craft) competed. They got dominated by an assortment of westlers, BJJ, pancrase and ground & pounders. Todays MMA guys are quite a bit better than those days. Traditional martial artists no longer compete because they don't stand a chance.

...And then you discovered grammar. Fedor is a professional fighter. He is a very very good professional fighter. I...don't recall saying anything about ground fighting. I was expressing the sentiment that there are plenty of good fighters who would lose to Fedor because he trains full time and they don't. And it's true. Didn't say he was unbeatable. Didn't even say he couldn't be beaten by people who don't do MMA. Just said he was good.

I agree with Blndrfist, just another posturing tough guy and this is clearly a cooperative demo. It's quite easy to spot fight demos compared to the real thing. What kind of fight record does this guy have against someone with REAL credentials? In the early days of MMA, highly ranked pure form martial artists (kung fu, karate, etc) were routinely mauled by wrestlers, pancrase and Braz jiujitsu fighers. Against today's best MMA fighters traditional martial artists would get totally destroyed.

Well then you only do it for your own sake,it probably won't hurt. But you don't have to yell eitheir. In some styles the yell all the time. In others only occasinaly. I train in the Bujinkan system where we mostly don't shout, but we train in the principals of a proper battle shout.

What. WHY would you only shout when striking? In my style we don't shout much at all, but shouting is a great way to distract the mind of the attacker. I've seen people stop dead at a shout(and done it myself). They tried to attack then when the martial artist shouts they just freeze. Nothing super natural. It's the same thing as when a S.W.A.T team shouts; freeze, down on the ground! You'r brain need to procces the sudden sound and it throws you off your game. Funny video.

"i really would like to see Fedor.Cro-cop or any other mmartist if they had to fight 5 people.one with a bat another one with a beer bottle another one with a stool" Are you even remotely suggesting that Crudell would stand a chance against 5 guys so armed? That's laughable. Okay so the UFC/MMA is commercialized it doesn't alter the fact that it's top fighters are some of the very best. Pure form eastern martial arts don't stand a chance against them. It's been proven over and over.

And does the Wushu practitioner know what to do if he ends up on the ground? And are you saying Americans can't do wushu? Why not? Watch early videos of Jason De Lucia, a very highly ranked white sash kung fu artist vs Royce Gracie, BJJ. He was taken down, wrapped up and arm barred very quickly not once but twice. Those early UFCs had almost no rules. Gracie has since been defeated by today's best MMA guys. Given that, I highly doubt wushu would do any better in today's MMA competitions.

So none of what you learned in Shotokan bleed over to your your kickboxing ? Find that hard to believe mate. The stance work in kenpo just instills the fundamental footwork for striking, foot and hip pivoting in harmony and such. Kickboxing is the fundamentals of many martial arts without the "art". I find it funny that so many people these days can't wrap tier head around the idea that someone who does kata can in no way have time to sharpen on a bag of maybe work a ground game......
