When Peggy Lipton returned to the national screen on "Twin Peaks" it was a delightful blast of nostalgia for we who remember her from "The Mod Squad" notwithstanding the grim subject matter of the series. Now the sad news is that she has passed away. Between those two moments ("The Mod Squad" and "Twins Peaks") her presence in the public eye was too brief and fleeting for her fans who wished we could have seen her more often but perhaps this was how she preferred it. I hope Ms. Lipton passed away with the serene understanding that her time on this planet was a life well lived.

I believe that Peggy led the life that she wanted to live. Because of that, she spent big chunks of her time away from the scrutiny of the public.

I was a kid when this was new and loved it... and enjoyed it again in reruns. The best episodes for me are the ones gurst starring Sammy Davis Jr! The one where Sammy is a priest is one of my favourite TV shows ever made. The show usually had a sombre, serious tone that was kind of stylish for the time. I even collected the Mod Squad bubble gum cards! I never got into Twin Peaks...maybe someday.

I used to watch Mod Squad when I was a kid. I love all the other stuff too but this was a fun show for me. I liked a lot of the shows where women were more than housewives, sales clerks or librarians. I think women on these shows helped boost young women into the professionals they eventually became in the 80's.

As a young girl growing up in the 60’s and 70’s every girl wanted to be Peggy Lipton/Julie Barnes. The Mod Squad was THE coolest show! It’s hard to describe that time in history. Late 60’s early 70’s. Counterculture, etc. I admire her for focusing on her family. And it was always great to see her when she popped up on tv in later years. I was very saddened to hear she passed away. May she Rest In Peace.

This woman was a natural beauty! No matter how old these aged it didn't matter. Somehow Peggy Lipton maintained her beautiful face.

Peggy Lipton is as beautiful today as she was when I first saw her on the Mod Squad. The Mod Squad was one of the first TV shows to show Hippies an Flower Children as real people just like everybody else, some were good and some were bad just like every other class of people. This was the first show that I saw that did not always portray them as just counter culture criminals and enemy’s of the Police. I was born in 1959 and grew up through the 1960s & 1970s it was a changing and at times a turbulent era. It’s just a TV show but it was an influence at the time. Getting back to Peggy Lipton she was a multi talented young actress and singer at the time on a good controversial show.

Since I live in Holland we usually get American programs a few years later than Americans see them. I just saw Peggy Lipton on "Rules of Engagement" as the mother of one of the characters. She looked amazing! She, of course played an older Hippy type of mother and knocked it out of the park with her acting. Since I am a "Boomer" I remember watching her in "The Mod Squad", my father didn't approve, saying "Turn that dirty Hippy crap off of my TV set!" lol

Dave... you know what the coolest kids program was? The THUNDERBIRDS! Have you ever seen the documentary on how those puppets, set and spaceships were made? It was a British creation and I think something like 200 artists and performers were on staff. SO freaking COOL!!! They don't do REALISTIC stuff like that anymore no doubt.

Yes, Peggy was Jewish, and the daughter of corporate lawyer Harold Lipton, so her family was upper class. Her grandparents changed the surname from "Lipschitz" when they came from Latvia. Not sure why Dave didn't mention this..or the fact that she portrayed Gloria Steinem (quite apt) in a TV movie. Great look back, though!

Hi Dave. Another great cop show from the 60s 70s. We loved it over here because Michael Cole was born in Australia. (Parochial? We of Planet Stryaly? Never.) It inspired a two series parody in the late 90s as the Aust Broadcasting Corporation show "Funky Squad" with iconic comedienne Gina Williams (Kim from Cath & Kim) playing Peggy's role of Julie. There'll be an episode of two somewhere on KZbin, so if you love a good laugh check it out. Great upload mate. See you again soon.😸

Born in 1970, I've only ever seen a handful of Mod Squad episodes. They just don't seem to get any air time, even nowadays on those RetroTV stations. From what I remember, they were pretty good shows that had stories as good as the shows I do remember like Adam-12, Emergency(MY ALL TIME FAVORITE), even Dragnet, that for some reason got a lot of rerun air time back then. Just a suggestion, I saw a clip from another site yesterday that got me to thinking about someone I haven't seen a video of here. Adrianne Barbeau. She was another of my many Bedroom Wall girlfriends growing up and I especially loved watching her on Maude. She was the only reason I watched the show. And the Best part of Cannon Ball Run....
