WhatGear Sony is the king of super slow motion (1080p). Also image stabilisation seems better on the Sony. I prefer the Sony picture it's more real to life + if you want more color then just switch to super vivid mode. Oh HDR support also lol 😂. Probably the front facing is the only edge to the Note.

Very impressed by the Sony. The Note definitely does better bokeh in the last photo, and in the first landscape photo I think the Note also produced a nicer image. The back-lit shot was a clear win for the XZ2 though. I also like the Sony image processing and colours better. It's a shame so many people forget or discount Sony. I think in low-light the Samsung will probably be better though, for handheld shooting at least. Although the XZ2, and Xperias in general apparently perform miles better in low light when used with a tripod

The XZ2 uses Gyroscope stabilisation in the camera lens. So It should have better Low-light shots

Great Job Man. Personally I prefer the natural looking pictures of the Sony XZ2 than the artificial colour exaggeration of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.

Very good video.... yes, sony perform better in your test against note 8..thank you... incoming xz2 premium... dual camera, low light photo/video is very promising.. but I don't get what is Inside the phone for a whooping 236g!! and dimension super close to huawei mate 9 but much thicker and heavier!! But I still planning to buy it just cause the camera and sony quality.

Last Sony phone I had was the z3 Compact and hated it!!!! After seeing your video I just ordered a XZ2 Compact to try it out. Will be giving my Pixel 2 XL to my Wife for her upgrade... Keep up the good work on the videos..

Great work and review!! ... Those landscapes are great to taste the cameras. I am a great fan of Sony, but some pictures were better in note 8,but we need to consider that note 8 has a dual camera. Another thing that could be great to test is the low light condition!!

I'm not impressed with the Note 8 camera. In fact it's worse than previous Samsung models like the S6 pr S7. Sometimes I feel like I have a defective model but I doubt it. A bit disappointing but still love the phone.

I guess Sony has Stereo Mic, so when the dog barked to one of the two mics, the voice came out from one ear-bud or earphone(whatever you're using)... However, Note8 just records sound from one mic.

Samsung went from cheap, low class quality plastic breakable toy phones to a decent premium metal+glass devices. Sony started from premium high-quality materials to even more premium high-quality build.
