According to me this is the best Gravitymaster ever, the GPW-2000 has more tech but the small details like the carbon fibre inspired dial, the tasteful amounts of polished metal in the watch face, and most importantly the DLC coated bezel, make this the best Gravitymaster till date (no the GWR-B1000 is not worthy considering it does not have GPS functionality).

That was fascinating. I was relieved to see the O rings in the crown tube. It was good to see it's pretty well defended. I got my GPW 1000 wet a couple of times with the crown unfastened. It didn't cause a problem the watch (though I wouldn't want to repeat that too often!) I'd love to see the movement disassembled; wouldn't mind seeing the motors and GPS chip if that's possible. Great work!

One of my favorite gravity master. I wonder why it was so short lived? I like the latest carbon fiber one..my only complaint is that it is visually too close to the MT-G/MR-G lines.

Best g shock ever. Hybrid wave captor a must have that i thought would filter dien to other watches, but seems it remained exclusive to the very top of the range, with others making do with blue tooth and multi band 6. However Bluetooth isn't always available and neither is the atomic signal. These watches take a beating, self correct hands knocked out of alignment (tough mvt)...and well they have been my daily wearer since release (I have the raf, a black and gold, a standard one and an aged titanium one... and will be buying more. I truly believe no watch has ever been made that suits use in austere environments, and also looks fine in day to day life, than the gpw 1000. BTW,,, been wearing daily through weather and impacts and tool use and all manner of abuse (aside the aged titanium one) and none have missed a beat. No strap rot....not even a scratch on the sapphire crystal. They have surpassed the Omega Speed master as my fav watch of all time...and even better, while I bought all mine from G Shock store in Carnaby Street in London. These outstanding pieces of watchmaking genius can be had on ebay NOW for 200 to 300 gbp. If you want a tough watch to survive a tough job day to day, and also look cool as anything else....just get one. You get one in your hands, feel its weight and solidity, appreciate the tech which will automatically give you the exact time anywhere on the globe....you won't say no.

Hi, I need your help. I have GPW-1000 that has carbon fiber strap that peel and I am planning to buy a metal (resin) strap but it is expensive, it cost almost one brand new gshock. Do you think if Gw-a1000fc or GA-1000FC-1A metal strap can use to GPW-1000? Please help.

hello sir, are that battery more bigger than ctl1616? i'm just wondering why casio didn't use ctl1616 instead? is it because of the movement need more power/juice to function properly, tough solar alone not enough perhaps? thank you for this great video. have a nice day, cheers. :)

Unfortunately my GPW-1000 hour and minute hands stuck every three days or less but after going to setting mode and changing the location of time it starts working but its not calibrated and it does not show the right time. I dont know may be gear or module problem or battery problem. I wish you disassembled the module too may it could help me to fix mine.

I was planning on changing the bezel ring, and was wanting on a video from you to decide if it is worthy, but just find out that no, it isn't, I have disassemble almost all of my gshocks and always get dust inside, and I'm kind ocd with that! Also why you don't use some kind of tissue between the watch and the table, I know it's to much, but kind of hurt, hearing the watch bang and twist in the table...I know that there gshock but I treat mine so damn well, even a betten up one, I always use like a microfiber cloth between them and the table 😁

Well, I do bother all the little things when I got started. Now, I'm disassembling almost 10-20 different gshocks per week.. I notice it didn't matter. These things aren't the typical 'swiss made' watch. They're really tough. In and Out.

Can i ask..what killed the battery in the end? I have to say that owning these watches for getting onto 10 years now..(2014 was release on Europe no? About when i got my first RAF..and i still wear off at least once a week, with battery sill showing at 12o clock on the test mode....same goes for my black and gold and aged titanium one, sorry I'm terrible with model numbers. Now surprisingly i just picked up another for the collection, the bog standard original one, with the blue anodized ring round the bezel ( you all know the one in sure)....and the price was so outrageous i thought it worth a punt, even though in all the pics, the hands were ALL pointing at 12, and I'm thinking...'this had to be dead batteries'...but at £140 ( my offer on a £200 asking price, i thought,well...the steps are probably worth £100 on their own. The chap didn't answer any questions, pictures were rubbish, and condition described as used....with zero note info offered. Well the day of delivery arrived.....and the original cardboard box from casio arrives, with the immaculate watch box within, the watch in its original little bag on its pillow....and the moment light hits it, the hands set to the time.....though the battery tester read as 2 so i left it on a bright windowsill for an afternoon before messing with time and position. But it all worked perfectly in the end and is now my absolute daily wearer, beating our a Speedmaster (not a super posh one) a Seiko Astron which I adored for years for that one thing that the Gravitymaster does better, i.e satellite time updates away from the radio sjgnals, and also a highly highly prized Luminox Blackout that was gifted to me by some USMC lads...So I mention all this to demonstrate at least some credentials, not as some sort of Gung Ho commando, but as a guy that had learned to appreciate certain strengths in a watch, when one is living in austere conditions,and accurate and above all reliable timekeeping is incredibly important. How the watches i mentioned are all superb....Speedmaster showing age now....even perfectly tuned,they will lose 15 mins a month easily, not to mention resistance to shock, magnetism and.....well, I wanted to say extreme temperatures, but they survived plus200 in the light and minus 200 in the shade, so yeah, Speedmaster will always be my second fav. But....when you find out about the level of detail that went into the GPW1000...I don't think they put all those features in one watch ever again?, Look at the new Gravitymaster...it's great, triple or quad sensor? But it gets time from Bluetooth from your phone, or Multiband 6, which if God forbid the s nite I don't the fan, won't be there. The satellites are solar and in orbits that won't fall....well...if ever. Ok I'm ranting, but i strongly think the gpw1000 is the best survival watch ever made, and my only concern is the life out the job chargeable back up, which is unavailable at the best of times...BUT...I've been running mine for near a decade, and no issues at all! Ps...after boring rant, i have been perusing tough and hopefully solar smart watches . The Tag Heuer Connected seem too be good, as are the Garmin..i think Fenix 6 seem very capable, but all suffer still from the dreaded slavery to being recharged every 24 hours, unless the solar is much better than i expect it to be? If you guys have any info on the best rigged smart watches, if be really interested in your opinions! ( not to mention what you think killed the unkillable gpw1000 battery)

@gshockhighfashion4 жыл бұрын
All of them have a metal sheet insert into their plastic hardcase for reinforcement. Metal insert band however normally found on resin composite bracelet model like GW-B5600BC being the most popular.

@@gshockhighfashion Appreciate your reply. sorry I did not explain my question clearly. What I question about is the black plastic housing for the movement and some plastic gears in it, as shown in your video from around 27:40.
