What that young mom at the end said is very nice. People should have the courage to express their opinions in a respectful way when they see something is going wrong with someone. Most of us do not do that and leave people alone to respect their privacy. Maybe someone hear something now from you and then start to think more clearly and arrive to the same conclusion in the same moment or even a year later. It is a healthy interaction between people in a society I believe.

Not exactly true. It is your parents business who you date if they are bad people. The character of the person you are with matters to your parents. If you don't think so, then don't whine and complain if they cut you off. Since after all yo only care about your own opinion, so you can live alone in isolation then with your partner.
