Have you ever seen a wheel bug? I didn't know what it was when I first saw one, but the common name makes sense! One time one of these things got in me and my dads house on the US's east coast, we were handling it and letting it crawl all over us wondering what the hell it was, assuming it couldn't bite because it's mouth looked like a tiny tube. Needless to say, after finding out this calm cool bug was an ASSASSIN bug that can produce a hellish bite, we were horrified that we let it crawl all over us lol.

Same lol, me and a friend found one in southern Maryland and let it crawl on us, passed it back and forth, put it on our shoulder like a parrot and walked around... Took me years to find out what the thing was. I was quite shocked when I found it that we had been in danger of getting hurt.

I found a huge one and it was right above the door to my office. I’m not usually intimidated by bugs but this one freaked me out. It was watching me. If I walked to the left, it turned to the left and vice versa. I didn’t know what it was initially but instincts kicked in and told me not to go near it.

I had a wheel bug bite me inside my ear as a teen, it caused the worst ear infection I've ever had. It was so bad and swollen in my ear canal that I could hardly open my jaw without feeling like I was getting stabbed. It was terrible.

I live in PA and one day I saw it on my arm (covered in a jacket) as I was driving home. I stayed calm and opened my window and rested my arm on it. It didn't move at all. I stopped at a gas station and took off my jacket. It still did not move off my jacket. I got it on a piece of paper and put it on the ground. If I had known how bad the bite was I would have pulled over sooner. I looked up wheel bug and immediate say that was it's name.

Yeah a wheel bug bite is definitely worse than a hornet sting unlike most wasp stings which have less burn but more of a numbing effect the wheel bug has a strong burn effect to it's bite but less numbing to it
