Only one. The rubber seal on the inter-cooler tube broke. I always fought with steering wobble but was solved with shocks and stabilizers. It was never a full-blown wobble, just an annoyance.

Rides like factory but it took the level, trac bar extension bracket, sway bar extensions, bump stop extensions, and caster angle bushings. I did it right this time unlike my 2011 where I cheaped out and stuggled with wobble. Last stet will to get shocks made to work 37 inch tires and the truck will be golden.

So I took the plunge and installed a 2.5" leveling kit and went with Bilstein shocks all around. I can definitely tell the difference 😀 I wanted to add Bora spacers just to give the stock tires a more aggressive look while wearing down the perfectly new tires a little more 😀 I asked the guys at 4wheelParts about using a Bora 1.75 Spacer and they highly recommend not adding spacers. I think they were just trying to sell wheels. Thinking about tackling the train horn next 😀

how are you reprograming your speedo? any other issues with going larger than 34.1 or35" tires? What programmer did you use...Ford computer does not go larger than 275/65r20...the largest tire size they offer. I'm looking at doing either 35 or 37 but worried about the 37 in speedo/navigation, etc. if it can not be reprogrammed.

35's now fit without modification. I was planning to use them but when other guys started putting on 37's, I had to give it a try. I have a 2.5 inch leveling kit but have changed my mind. I'm going to install a 1.5 inch. This truck is very tall compared to the 2011.

Those tires on OEM wheels will fit in all directions no problem. I can't speak to custom wheels as it's conceivable that they could impact the fender at full upward flex. With those great looking tires though I can't imagine why you wouldn't want a simple leveling kit for the front end. Just looks a lot better.

The tires contact the control arm and the sway bar on the driver side. Control arm on the other. I've just gotten used to it and don't turn completely left or right. It's worth it as I really use the extra clearance and love the looks.

I am keeping the stock Radius Arms for now as they are back ordered 100 DAYS 🤔 The shop said I could change wheels but they recommended I wait until the radius arms are available. So I was hoping to use spacers in the meantime. Will have to watch your video again to make sure there are no gotchas 😀

@@GrillingNetwork The spacers work fine but the problem is mounting the wheel with much less hub to center on. It can be done but you just have to pay attention and be willing to take off and reinstall one to get it right. It feels like the wheel is out of balance when not centered on the hub.

I saw one reply where you said they are probably not a long term solution, so I was more curious if you still are using them or if you changed to something different. @@chrisdreier923 There are a couple of hub centric spacer options out there but the smallest I could find were an inch wide. That was more than I was looking for. Like you, I prefer the factory wheels because they're easy to clean and very strong. So I've just learned to hold back from full turns a little bit. It's only at full lock that the rubbing occurs and I can never give up the added capability the 37 inch Toyos provide.

I would not use those wheel spacers, get the correct billet spacers. The ones you installed are cheap and dangerous. Where do you think all of that torque goes when you go around a turn at 60mph, it goes to your lug nuts instead of the hub now. I'm not being over dramatic, those wheel spacers will cause failure of your studs eventually and get somebody hurt.

MaxxTech85 He still has enough lip on those hubs for the bore of the wheel to ride on. As far as straining the lugs...lug centric wheels put 100% of the load of the lugs 100% of the time. The danger lies in people using more than 1/4" leaving limited threads on the lugs. IE: wheels come off

This particular kit leaves all the components in their OEM geometry. By relocating the track bar, the only affect is the loss of caster which is easily fixed.

Everyone is reporting that 35/12.50's clear without rubbing. The problem comes when the tire is 37 inches or wider than 12.5 inches.

Since seeing the 37s on your truck, I've been trying to figure out a wheel set to fit the 37s. But then a friend told me that nitto makes a 37x11.5. Do you think a 1" narrower tire would turn without rubbing?

It's very plausible. See if your tire shop will let you drive on the new tires for a day or two and you'll know for sure. Most shops have a satisfaction guarantee of some kind.

I ran into a problem I have a 2018 f350 I got some stock wheels they fit fine on the front but when I got to the back they didn’t fit my hub was sticking out farther then what the wheel would go…. Any suggestions on this and are the center caps and different from the 250 to 350s

These kinds of spacers really aren't good for long-term use. They do take a fair amount of effort to keep the wheel squarely on the hub and centered. Check the video description for info.

No codes when larger tires are installed. If you try to change the tire size in the truck's computer there might be a code. The computer allows a very small change but if you enter a value that is more than 4% larger than the factory setting, it will turn on the check engine light. Im guessing on the percentage but it's something like that. I did not update the computer for these tires because it would have been too big of a change and set the check engine light. My truck speedometer therefore indicates lower speed than I'm actually going.

On a spec sheet, the 325/60/20 is 4.3% smaller in diameter and 2.4% wider. The extra tire clearance built into the control arm of the 2017 should allow it to clear. The .3 inch wider tire is really only .15 inches closer to the suspension parts but that difference is in a much larger space than where a 37 inch tire would be. My take is that it will clear on the OEM wheel without problem. No spacer needed.

my truck came with 17 inch rims and 245 tires and I put 20 inch ford rims with 35 12.50 20 mud grapps.soon as these tires are done I'm down sizing to a 295 65 20 way less aggressive tire like a toyo or mickey and pray it works out better.toyo and nitto make heavy tires I hate the way my truck drives now feels sluggish and that's with emmsion control gone and tuner,cold air intake,strait pipe.truck had serious power until these heavy ass tires went on.

Great info again Epic. I did a few things on my 11, and now 15 and am leaning towards a 17. I have a complete 6" Pure Perf lift from front to back on my 15 w 37 12.5x20 Toyo's....Now as I am getting older and so is climbing in and out of these trucks I like that the same tires fit on these 17's with little modification. By chance does your truck have adaptive steering and if so is she effected much by the larger tires. Also do you feel the need for the door seal mod with these newer better built Ford trucks... Jeff Jassby I'm not into the tall lifts either but these 2017s are very tall right out of the factory. The 2017 front hood was as tall as my 2 inch leveled 2011 on 35s before I put on 37s. I decided on a 1.5 ich level and with 37s this new truck is up 3 inches - ish over the 2011. I didn’t change anything on the rear and it's taller by about 3-4 inches. One thing I really appreciate is the new power fold steps. They drop lower and make getting in and out easier for my wife.

This was taken when the 1.5 inch level blocks were on. I never found happiness with that though, lol. I have been very happy with the 2.5. It leaves about a half inch rake. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and different folks like different looks. The 1.5 inch looked like a farmer's truck. A 2.0 or 2.5 is my minimum.

The little spacers do what you saw on the video but are not a long term solution. You have to be careful when mounting the wheel to center it on the hub or the wheel can feel out of balance when on the freeway. There is also the concern of weight bearing in that if I was towing anything heavy I would want the entire hub surface in contact with the wheel. 37 inch tires fit inside the fenders just fine but will still rub a little bit on control arms and the stabilizer bar. If you want to keep the OEM wheels and run 37 inch tires, best to just put up with a little bit of rub. Leveling is up to you for aesthetics.

Store bought 30 year old flat head screwdriver from the bottom of the toolbox. Just heat and bend the tip and whalaa! Custom center cap removal tool. ;)

I have a 2013 F350 that came with LT275-70-18. I just put LT295-70-18 Nitto tires on it. The new tires are around 34" diameter and 11.5 wide. This is the size you say your 17 came with. Did it in fact come with 295's or 275's? 275's are actually around 32 inch diameter.

I chose a 1.5 inch level this time around instead of a 2 inch which nets a 1.5 inch rake back to front. 2 inch spacer would have been a 1 inch rake and 2.5 inch level would have been 1/2 inch rake. This truck is already so tall that I don't want the cab to be any higher. I still want to go through car washes and park in some underground spaces.

Big tires + more weight = more wear and more fun! I haven't calibrated but my guess is about 3%. The speedos are about 3% over compensated from the factory and these tires are 6% larger.

No bumper or valence issues. The tire will touch the mud flaps occasionally on a full turn going through a driveway approach or something but never anything on the truck itself (other than the sway bar and control arm).

I went with a 1.5 inch level from ReadyLift. It's a spacer and two bolts below the spring. That leaves me with a 1.5 inch rake back to front. A two inch looks great too but you start getting into the zone of requiring a track bar re-positioning bracket. I did the 1.5 on Saturday and cannot tell any difference in steering, which is great.

Southern Poolscapes The truck had exactly 3 inches of difference between the top of the wheel wells. If I put a 3 inch level on the front it the fender would have been exactly the same height unloaded. But the minute anything is put in the bed or even a light weight trailer is hooked up, the rear end drops an inch or so giving a nose-high appearance. To keep it perfectly level airbags or some other rear end device would be necessary. It's a matter of preference.

I’m sure the engineers factors in thread depth and stud diameter and then a safety amount of thread is factored in but I’m sure you’ve used up that safety factor ? 1/4” less of threads is almost 25%.

The spacers came from a local tire shop. This was a fun exercise but is not a viable long term solution. Even with those thin spacers, there's not enough hub left to reliably center the wheel on. One or two wheels inevitably have to be dismounted and re-mounted it in the center. A custom made 1/2 inch spacer can be found but it is expensive. That's why 99% of people go with custom wheels.

My truck has 3.55's and yes, the larger tires effectively reduce the gearing. It's hard to say I notice any difference because the diesel engine has so much torque. It feels stronger than my 2011 with 35 inch tires and 3:55 rear end. If you have the 3.31's and put on 37 inch tires you will feel a drop for sure.

EpicCowlick. My other truck is an 09 with a 6.4. I did the same tires as you but used a 3in leveling kit on front with another 1.5in of blocks on the back. I didnt noticed much performance loss but the truck had a large tune on it. I think im going to leave this one stock as far a engine mods.

The basic rule is 35 inch tires fit on OEM wheels on a 17 but 37 inch tires will rub as shown in the video. The size of the wheel does not matter, it's the final diameter and width of the tire that rubs or not. I've heard that 37X11.50 tires clear where these 37/12.50s do not.

They are great trucks. My 2011 was near perfect with only a popped air tube as the only repair. I always did battle with a jittery (not full wobble) front end but mostly solved it with stabilizers, shocks and replaced the track bar.

I have had ford trucks for the last 10 years.from the 7.3 to 6.0 to 6.4 to 6.7.i have never heard seen or had anything that would be considered death wobble.just never have.if fords are so notorious for this why haven't not one out of 5 super duty trucks have I had one do that.

EpicCowlick my 2014 has it. I hit a bump and the whole truck feels like it's on ice and skips over a third of a lane sometimes. it is a little scary. the 4 super duty's prior to my 2014 never did it.

Once you changed to a bigger tire, how much did it affect your fuel economy?

Pretty sure big huge tires are a 2 mpg hit. They steal that punch power from a stop and rob power on the freeway. Most guys will say that the 6.7L diesel makes so much power it really doesn't matter and for the most part they are right. But you have to really like the looks and/or need the extra clearance to make it worthwhile. My truck gets 12-13 mpg in town, 15ish in mixed driving and 18-19 on the freeway.

They are factory 20 inch wheels with Toyo RT 37/12.50/20 tires. Really happy with them.

A 2.5 inch level will look great. 35's fit on the OEM wheels without rubbing and 37's fit with some rubbing on the control arm. You'll need new wheels with with additional negative offset to avoid rubbing with 37's.

EpicCowlick So I just got my new 350 today, adding the leveling kit. Would like to keep my 20" rims. Will the 35-12.50-20 fit with out rubbing or does it need to be the 11.50? Second when you ran your 35's were they 12.50's and did they not rub just when level when the wheel is turned or did it not rub while bottoming out and having wheel turned? Just want your experience so I'll know if I need another rim to run 12.50 35' instead stock 20" rims. Thanks

The rear end is 3.55 and I don't know what the new effective gear is all things being equal. The power output of the 6.7L is so high that you really don't feel a loss.

The spacers were to give the tires just a little more clearance from the suspension components. It's not a long term solution though. You still have to manually center the wheel on the hub or the wheel will feel out of balance. If you want to run 37/12.50 tires on the OEM wheels, you either need to use spacers carefully or put up with a little bit of rubbing.

I stopped using the spacers after a while because balancing the wheel on that little bit of hub was a 50/50 proposition, A fun experiment but I just pulled them and still run the OEM wheels with 37's. They rub at full lock only and it's easy to adjust to.

What about rubbing on the front and back of the wheel well? I watched another video of a guy that put some 37's on his pickup and he said he had to use bumper spacers or something to move out the front bumper and then had to trim the rear of the wheel well. Insights?

@@jonsouth2592 There's no contact with the fenders or the bumper. The tire will rub on the control arms and the sway bars. Keep in mind the specific configuration. Toyo RT 37/12.50/20 on OEM wheels. Change anything in that formula and all bets are off.

@@jonsouth2592 It pays to do your research for sure and it would be best to go to a reputable tire shop to get their opinion. They might have a couple of wheel/tire combinations to try on and check clearance. There's so many variables and there's no real formula that I'm aware of to guarantee fitment especially when you're pushing the limits.

I have the exact same truck, color and everything. I’m considering changing my factory tires to 37 inch tires as well, but keeping my factory rims. Do you think it’s the height, width or combination of the two with the 37 inch tires that cause the rubbing? How much is your turning radius compromised with the bigger tires? It sounds likethe rubbing only occurs with sharp turns which play a factor for me because I back my boat up into my warehouse which requires a lot of tight turns. Any insight you could provide on the turning radius issue would be great. Thanks.

It's a combination of height and width which causes the contact. 35/12.50's clear fine and I've heard that 37/11.50's do also but I can't say for sure. These tires are just outside what Ford allowed for in the design. They only contact at full lock and I've gotten used to it. Spacers are not a long term solution if you want these tires on those wheels without any rubbing.

Absolutely. I had a 2.5 inch level kit on the garage floor but decided that was too much. These new Fords are taller to start with compared to the previous model. I'm going to install a 1.5 inch level so the overall height doesn't exceed 86 inches.

37's will contact the control arm and the sway bar. The quarter inch spacer gives just that tiny extra bit of clearance but they will still touch in some situations. That's a big tire.

I have a 2013 F150 4X4 2.5” leveling kit. With currently 33” tires. I just got some 35” Tires (Mud) I bought some of these spacers to try not to rub...? I install on Friday. I will let y’all know. I’m only using spacers on the front wheels.

They work like shown in the video but they are a little tricky. You have to be careful to center the wheel on the hub before tightening the lug nuts or the wheel can feel like it is out of balance. This is a temporary solution. A quarter inch is a little bit and might be just the amount needed but the long term solution is different wheels.

The advantage is that they are totally automatic when set to AUTO but they have a backup ability to be manually turned to LOCK if the vacuum system fails or leaks. Nice to have both options.

The entire weight of the truck rides on that "hub centric" hub...not the lugs. Going from 3/8" of lip to ride on down to 1/8" of an inch is pretty sketchy. Seen a lot of broken lugs (which is normally really difficult to do) when guys do this.....just saying. (side note: I work as a mechanic at a Ford truck dealership for almost 20 years now)

This is actually not true. The weight of the vehicle is born by the wheel and into the suspension through friction between the wheel and the hub. The lug nuts provide the clamping force to keep the wheel from slipping on the hub/rotor. Ford's hub centric system is designed to make mounting wheels on the hub easier. And they do that job well. With only 1/8 inch of hub to center the wheel it is very difficult to center and balance the wheel properly.

Do come back and let us know how they turned out. I think the optimal spacer would be a half or 3/4 inch which would give plenty of room for the tire but not protrude out from under the fenders. It would be a perfect little tweak.

Unfortunately the description on their website was incorrect. The minimum spacer thickness to include the hub centric portion is 1 1/4 inches. However, they do make them to precisely fit and I exchanged my 1/2 inch for 1/4 inch so I would have some hub portion left. I don't have the out of balance shake I was getting from the two previous cheaper spacers. I still have some slight rubbing at full turns with the 37X12.5 R20 Nitto Ridge Grapplers on stock 20" rims.
