Wheel Stud Replacement 2002 Chrysler Voyager

I watched this video before I replaced a wheel stud on the front of my 2003 Town and Country. I could have guessed this is how it would go but after spending 5:30 watching this procedure, I was supremely confident as to how it would turn out. The old stud punched out easy after a penetrating lube soak of a couple minutes. I placed the transmission in neutral to rotate the wheel stud to the desired location. I did place a crowbar on the backside for a little support and after 2-3 polite whacks (don't overdo it) the stud was out. I drew the new wheel stud in by using an oversize nut as a prying surface with an old lug nut. I did replace all 5 lug nuts on this wheel for good measure and for looks. Great video. Do what Ron did here and you will be fine.

Fantastic hopefully the same on a 06. I know the Voyager has a smaller wheel than a Caravan. I have owned and used these vans since my first one in 1986, All these years I never noticed the groove.

How about if vehicle is fwd automatic, how do you turn the hub, lift both front tires, will still be locked right? Thanks.

Yes have head this before I was told that you have to get all 4 wheels up off the ground but I have not run into this problem yet.

Ur video is the first I've seen so in your opinion doni need power tools also I'm working on a town and country I got studs for 2.07 each Dorman. And I grabbed a stud installer spacer. I only have a breaker bar and large impact sockets for the lug that I removed it with. If you think that would be enough force to install. Oh did urs need the torn bit with socket head or is it a regular bolt head. I read it maybe a 7mm if so I'll have to grab one of those. May just lift it and jack stand it then inspect before jumping in just from watching video. Anyways based on your sepped to get it done and I can comprehend shows it's good enough to especially when in a rush for me it's just cold out and no garage to do this in.

This method works on just about all vehicles.

If you have studs from factory, do you have to run studs? Or can I knock them out and do lug bolts instead?

Hey Ron. Great vid. I need to do this on my 2007 Dodge caravan. Do I need to do anything special/careful with brake fluid or caliper pistons or is it a simple removal and hang them up to keep weight off the brake lines? Lastly what size was the large counter nut you used to tighten the stud bolt? thanks

The caliper Just hang them up out of the way, and as far as the nut just anything that will slide over will work, Remember I am a backyard mechanic so my technique may not work for you (: Thanks for watching.

Do you know if a 2007 Chrysler Pacifica has that slot built in that allows removal and installation of the studs as this one does?

@@channelron3593 Yes but some of them you have remove or cut a dust/splash shield to get to them. They don't all have that slot that makes it easy...Just wondering.
