Gosh, Yoshi-P looks so young here! Also Lukile neglected to introduce the most important reward you get from Postmoogle Questline: Having to click through multiple paragraphs every time you check your in-game mail. I'm glad this series is still going, and that it's finally covering a time where the channel itself exists! I know the original intention was only to cover the transition to 2.0, but it's very fascinating to document all of this stuff for posterity, and curiousness about these kinds of things brought me here to the Speakers community in the first place! Amazing video. ARR and Heavensward are my favorite expansions, so I loved seeing this video and remembering some details. I feel like ARR and Heavensward had some extra touch of love and dedication from the devs, as well as a very daring narrative. Nowadays it feels like they mass produce content and it doesn’t have the same specialness… or maybe I’m being biased. Either way, those expansions have a very special place in my heart and I love seeing other people’s appreciation for them too

Kind of gotten into a habit of revisiting this series before every new expansion. Would love to see followup videos for the next expansions. Because the game just keeps rising higher and higher. This last video really is wild. Talking about the fears about how Heavensward would be received after how much players liked ARR. Compare that to today where many (unfairly) degrade ARR to new players with a very common "just get through ARR, then it gets good)

I struggled so much with DF groups for Steps of Faith, but I just managed to clear before the nerf. As much as it was a struggle to get through, i do miss the creativity and uniqueness of some of the duties from ARR. It's sad that they have never done anything like Steps of Faith ever again, and have now patched it out of existence. It's nice that we have people like Lukile in the community to archive these things.

I wish they'd revisit the concept of the postmoogle quests, especially with the job quests being retired as a concept (for good reason, mind, but as someone with a soft spot for many of the characters I want to be able to see them again...). Seeing the expanded role (however briefly) of minor characters was very nice.

As a 1.0 player, I remember wanting to save Louisoix. That cs wasn't heartwarming to me, it was heartbreaking. Watching that cs upon clearing T12, made me cry. I still see the spot where he stood in 1.0 as his spot. I can't see it any other way. I have a lot of fond memories attached to that broken game.

I know why people hated Steps of Faith but man, I loved getting it all the way up to when it got removed. It was just so different from everything else, even in its nerfed version, that it was a fun change of pace for me.

27:43 - I dunno, I played this back in the day and never was THAT bothered by it... if anything I liked how it was at least different from the other events. And almost always there'd be at least a few people who'd done it before that were able to help folks out. One thing I've disliked about how FFXIV has been dumbed down over the years is that things like this and the older dungeons were eventually homogenized and streamlined for the crowd that just tends to faceroll through everything, and I honestly think those changes made those parts of the game a lot less interesting and exciting. I wish the devs WOULDN'T keep dumbing down content for people who are too lazy to put in the effort to figure things out.

Wow been away from the game for several years and didn’t know they converted steps of faith to a single player instance. I only played a nerfed form of it but the chaos of everyone running around was awesome shame that’s not around any more.

Man. I'm not playing atm and had no idea they had changed The Steps of Faith. That's a real shame. I know it was off beat, but man, that was a great break from the norm. I'm proud to say that I cleared it in the first few days, before the first nerf. I mean I get that they had to nerf it, it's MSQ and that was a tight fight. Then again, I was a bard in those days, so running up to the cannons and shooting them wasn't exactly a foreign concept to me. I can't say I've never pulled agro and had a boss chase me in circles...nope....can't say that. Sorry, that got away from me. Anyway. I think it's a shame that they never found a place for that kind of a scenario fight.

A lot of people remember HW fondly because of the story, but in terms of actual content, it was a hot mess and probably the worst expansion IMO. It took them til 3.4 to figure it out and release a savage raid that didn't suck, sorta kinda make the diadem less terrible but still kinda terrible and while they fixed some content, that's the story that took a massive dip in quality as it lead to Stormblood which argueably has some od the worst story...honestly I think the best thing to come out of HW are deep dungeons.
