When I checked, she had installed a restrictive Merv 8 filter on her 40 year old unit, and the airflow wss very slow, so the furnace was in overheat. Blower kept running, gun cycled on and off. Classic case. When I installed the correct filter for the unit, the house warmed up immediately, but the ducts banged when the unit would turn on. I told her that I would brace the return duct to quiet it, but she wasn't having it. She installed another Merv 8 and the system immediately went back into overheat. The argument was fierce. I lost. I still care very deeply about her, but I am no longer responsible for her situation. Very sad.

But even a man who gives in will quietly revise his opinion of her to be stupid at best, psycho at worst. If it was a s&$# test, then she wins I guess. A pretty substantial handful of women I have talked to over the years all had this issue in common. They would NOT admit their wrongs. EVER. Every technique was employed to avoid that. Over and over and over. Hey I'm not perfect, but I admitted when I was off. I apologized when it was warranted, even when it wasn't (to try to regain open conversation). Ultimately I had to end connections.

Many comments already covered the technical details of both videos. What stood out to me is that the guy in the second video was unable to immediately point out that liability insurance required by law and comprehensive damage insurance are two different things. Yes, he was clearly frustrated and upset by getting the ticket, but he could have pointed out that simple reality to her. Now the other thing is that woman is not an outlier. It is very common for women to have a complete lack of understanding of how the world works, even those who went to college and even got advanced degrees. They're not intellectually challenged, but they grew up in an environment where they didn't have to use their intellectual capacity to solve any problems, and thus never developed analytical skills.

Love your usage of an English.. "Major Bummer". lol. You are correct. The human ego doesn't like to be called stupid. How we think is a choice. This is just a function of human psychology. I am also a historian. Being a historian is like being a detective. You are trying to figure out just what was going on in history. This can take considerable research. Historians don't always get it right because our own biases sometimes get in the way. This is not usually done for nefarious reasons but its not easy for any human being to be a 'candid a friend to truth' These 1000+ letters have elluded academic scrutinty for over 224 years. I'm the author of "the public view". “History may distort truth, and will distort it for a time, by the superior efforts at justification of those who are conscious of needing it most. Nor will the opening scenes of our present government be seen in their true aspect, until the letters of the day, now held in private hoards, shall be broken up and laid open to public view. What a treasure will be found in General Washington’s cabinet, when it shall pass into the hands of as candid a friend to truth as he was himself!” founders.archives.gov/documents/Jefferson/98-01-02-3562 Irrespective of how inteligent we may be thinking still requires work. Some people just choose to be lazy thinkers. These letters can be traced back to just one man. He was a genius that went by the name of Benjamin Franklin. This is more a testimony to his raw genius than anything else. These letters prove an extremely clever constsitutional legacy that he had authored. To a certain extent it was hidden in plain sight with human pscyhology. The only reason I stumbled onto the context for these letters was that I chose to allow another his own intelligence and education being James Madison. He was far more educated than historians had allowed him to be. Benjamin Franklin had a very good sense of humor. I read he had provided some dating advice to a young man. He told this man that he was better off dating a much older woman. His reasoning was that they would be far more grateful. As for myself I have never been married. I'm now 60. I'm perfectly happy and very independent. I don't mind being stuck with me for the rest of my life. I like to keep my mind busy. While I'm not adverse to marriage it has never been a priority for me. I plan to get a very goofy chocolate brown lab one day. I think I will name him Franklin.

When my wife and i do house projects, I lead. When we do finances, she’s takes point. The difficulty usually arises when the man (me, in this case) is unaware of WHEN to lead. As men, we must lead at times and be supportive at times. Wives will not always know when the dynamic should shift a little. A little awareness and humility go a long way. I’m also lucky to be married to my wife, so there’s that. I’ll always adjust and look in the mirror, as she does as well. Give & take, etc. if someone has to be right all the time, then we have a problem. It’s usually someone doesn’t want to follow, or give a little. These “things” we do aren’t that important, yet how we respond is the difference between bliss or stress in the relationship. Married 20 yrs and counting to the same woman.
