Even when I meet atheists that say things like "I've read the Bible, I've studied your religion, I've heard Christian apologists, and it's all garbage", and then ask them what they think of the argument for the resurrection... And they don't know what I'm talking about... So they did a deep dive into Christianity, but haven't heard of what is likely the most important thing in terms of arguing for the truth of the faith? It just proves they're dishonest. Like, I imagine they've opened a Bible and read verses. I imagine they've scrolled through Reddit and KZbin comments, but the lack of knowledge and understanding really shows where their heart is at. They don't "want" to believe, and they want to "feel" justified.

@Finckelstein so you're actually proving my point then. What you've done is respond to the claim that the resurrection is true. I didn't ask you that. I asked you how you respond to the resurrection argument, which uses evidence and abductive reasoning to show that the resurrection is true. As I stated originally, people will attack Christianity and insult it, like you've done, pretending as if they know what they are talking about, and when I bring up even a simple and commonplace issue, like the resurrection argument, they have no idea what it's even about, as you have just demonstrated. It's a complete lack of a willingness to learn, with an arrogant and insulting attitude.

This is right up there with "We're all made of star stuff / stardust" in how it's supposed to be profound but isn't. Cheap rhetoric that "sounds cool" if you don't really think about it. 1/

It's not profound. There's no greater meaning to it. It's not bigger than yourself. If you think otherwise, you don't understand the terms. 2/

That I had to split this into parts due to get around YT's 1984 patrol bots says they know their position, which is yours as it's your faction, is too weak for honest discussion. 3/3

Man in love with himself. Story as old as time. The ancients tried building the Tower of Babel for the same reason.

@@TuhljinTampergauge I find meaning in family... They are larger than myself. I dont need Allah or Zeus or any other magic man in the sky to love my family and do right by them... But if he and others need fairytales to be better then by all means... keep believing.

People are driven to atheism by a desire to avoid accountability. The enlightenment and logic only go deep enough to convince yourself that you can live however you want, and stops there.
